I got ripped off at the Beaverton location. I paid extra for two D-Box seats, found that ten minutes into the movie, the D-Box was not functioning, so I alerted management. I was told there was nothing they could do while the movie is running. Then handed me two free passes when I mentioned a refund. I got home after the movie and found that the "free" passes state that if I want to use them on D-Box, I have to pay an extra premium. And can't use it for new releases. This is unacceptable and I want an actual refund for the two D-Box tickets I paid for and didn't get. read more

I've seen a couple of movies here now. The theater is always clean and comfortable. Concession prices are to be expected but when you join as a member you get a discount. This time I had a beer and I think it was nine total. I saw the life of a showgirl And truly enjoyed it. Young boys and girls were dancing in the front of the theater to the music. Wild Robot, Mufasa, Gladiator II, Wicked, Venom... What have I not seen at Cinemark? The answer is nothing. Because I have a movie club membership and to have a free ticket every month in exchange for the discounts... It's a no brainer. I am a Platinum member again for the second year in a row. Which is a 25% discount versus the normal 20%. Not bad!!! Plus no online ticket fees. And (like tonight,) my man wanted to watch a college football bowl game instead of seeing the movie he wanted to see. So I just opened my app and cancelled. And boom. Easy peasy refund. Managers are crude at best and egotistical bullies at worst. Employees are always helpful but I've been a repeat witness to managers being on hypocritical power trips enough that I've personally asked employees their opinions on the situation and frankly, it is absolutely worse than what I actually got to experience. According to multiple, there are frequent micro-aggressions and overall unacceptable behavior from higher ups to the minorities on staff and when asked about complaints on the matter the employees believe that it's easier for the managers to have to hire new employees constantly than to correct the behavior of their staff. The Portland suburbs are generally a wasteland of multiplexes that time forgot. It isn't that they're simply old but well-preserved, but they're typically run-down, isolated, neglected messes with semi-functional speakers, a nod to focused projection, and thrift-store-recliners where theater seating would do. The staff isn't worth complaining about because it typically isn't there. Then there's the Century 16, which rises to its surroundings. Now, not every suburban multiplex has a Max-adjacent, walkable shopping center that contains a Powell's, Salt and Straw, Good Coffee, Bamboo Sushi, Kingpins, Shake Shack, McMenamin's, New Seasons, Winco, Best Buy, and a bunch of other hits of Portland yesteryear coming soon (a Grassa at last!). But this one is already surrounding moviegoers with adequate reason to stay in the area even before they venture out to the B.G. food cart pod, Watson Street restaurants, or myriad Korean, Japanese, and Chinese places across the street. But walking into this place is like walking into the '90s and early 2000s at the peak of their blockbuster powers. Every bit of neon and illumination is glowing. The arcade is packed with games and kids playing them. The concessions stand is a small food court of its own and will sell you beer and actual food. You can graveyard yourself a giant soda to go with giant popcorn and it don't cost double the price of your tickets--which still hover below $10 for matinees. And while this place is great for playing the hits, the reason I've kept coming back is that it's proven itself particularly useful for finding indie, arthouse, horror, and foreign films in the 'burbs that have cycled their way out of Portland. The first run of Godzilla Minus 1 was here, as was Violent Night. When Dayton, Washington, pulled Bullet Train out of its one theater because it wasn't kid-friendly, we came back early from a Labor Day trip to watch it here. Now it's a Cinemark, so it's going to reserve a couple of small theaters in the back for that week's Christian movies, but I'm always amazed to see them played side-by-side with films like One Battle After Another, Rocky Horror, a Renée Elise Goldsberry doc, and Mumbai noir. The curation here is more than one would expect from a facility of its size, and more inspired than the Regal offerings at Fox Tower and Pioneer Square. The multiplex isn't my first resort, and Portland has way too many excellent and inexpensive independent theaters to make it so. Even when I'm out in Astoria, I'd sooner take the $5 show at the Columbian than go to their admittedly excellent '90s multiplex. But Cedar Hills 16 does everything it can to preserve the best parts of the big-building moviegoing experience while coaxing West Side moviegoer away from the tunnel and the Max if the movie they want to see is right there. C'mon: Movie, books, sushi, Salt & Straw? You could do a far worse date night west of Sylvan. read more

Cedar Hills was my family's go to movie theater in the past. Nice reclining seats and good sound. Lately I've found the projection to be fuzzy and the rooms to be filled with flies. Very noticeable when watching a movie and there's a light/bright scene and you see the flies just hovering in front of the screen. Staff is hit or miss, some seem to love working there others are just like "whatever". The discount days or when someone really wants to go here are the times I show up to this theater. read more

The bar attendant insisted that they could lose their permit or otherwise run afoul of Oregon law, but is woefully uneducated about the actual laws or possibly just making it up as they go. "ORS 471.130 requires a licensee or permittee to verify the age of a person who wants to buy or be served alcoholic beverages when there is "any reasonable doubt" that the person is at least 21 years old." Today I needed a little nostalgia and I just happened to coincidentally be off the week before I start my new job (yay), so i took my son to see the latest in the Ghostbusters series. I myself, saw the original back in 1984 (woah), and part deux in '89. I didn't see the 2016 reboot or Afterlife, but when I saw the trailer for "Frozen Empire", I knew that this was not to be missed. We got to the theatre super early today (Tuesday has discounted first showings) about 10:15. I hadn't been to this theatre in a really long time. The concession stand has changed a lot since I worked in a theatre (hint-I worked the opening of the original Jurassic Park). We got the x-tra large popcorn. He got a Slimer Icee and I got a coke. Of course we started munching as soon as we sat down, but there was a free refill. So anyway this theatre was pretty plush. The seats reminded me of a first class airline flight, if I had ever taken one. They reclined pretty much all the way back, but i didn't want to snooze so I just did it halfway. The armrests didn't go up and down, at least in theater 11, but I had to use the cup holder anyway. Anyway now for the movie. I wanted to see this because it seemed to be a proper continuation of the series. The opening ghost sequence featured the "Hells Kitchen Sewer Dragon" this seemed appropriate and also want to go back to Manhattan. The movie continued and there were a few places that could have started the chaos, but they had to hold off. The build up was enjoyable. There were tons of flashbacks to the original film. Dan Ackroyd had a pretty big part, and Bill Murray, Ann Potts, and lots of really small Stay-Puff marshmallow men lol. Overall I give this a 9/10. The only bad thing was the "resolution" to the problem came about too quickly for me. I was hoping for more ghosts and more slime. I definitely recommend this for anyone who loved the original...maybe I will check out Afterlife, and the "Answer the Call" too read more

Me and the family come here alot. I have the platinum member pass. The place is always clean. And when your enjoying a movie the screen is real nice so is the sound systems and the chairs that recline are actually real comfortable. I went to the one at clackamas not so comfortable. My go-to movie theater in the area! My non-negotiable for movie theaters are reclining seats and every theater at this location has them. There's plenty of parking and the exterior of the theater is pretty, especially at night with the lights. I usually don't get any of the standard expensive movie theater drinks/food and just grab a cup of water before heading into the theater. No complaints so far. My family and I enjoyed watching Wicked here the other day. read more

While having had a very nice remodel, and the nicest of the 3 cinemarks in the area, the service was definitely not good. The entire theater was an ice box and none of the staff helped nor cared. The couple people in the concession stand I talked to seemed pretty clueless on things and were slow with everything. The theater being as cold as it was really ruined everyone's movie experience, and all the other theater goers were literally shivering when the movie got out. The staff at the other cinemarks (Eastport plaza and Clackamas) have been lovely and in the past when I've had issues, they've helped and solved the solution. Would not recommend this theater, despite how nice it may seem. read more

I'm a moviegoer and I take the movie-going experience VERY seriously. Unfortunately, this theater doesn't get my full stamp of approval just yet but I do come here only out of convenience (it's located a very short distance from where I live). Also, if you're a Cinemark Movie Club Member like me, the perks are pretty good. Pros: * Their self-service model is pretty cool because you can grab exactly what you want and just pay at the end of the line. I've been here a few times and the line tends to move quickly. The only thing that is not self-serve is the popcorn (an employee behind the counter does that for you). * They serve Coca-Cola products, which if you're familiar with my reviews, is always a win for me. * Since each auditorium has the luxury loungers, there is a lot of room in between rows. * My concession stand recommendations are: Shareable Popcorn (No Butter), Shareable Nachos, a hot dog, and a Coca-Cola Classic. My wife really likes their Pretzel Bites. * Parking has never been a problem. Cons: * The employees that clean the theater after each show need to be more thorough. Sure, the floors look swept and vacuumed but the cup holders are always filthy. And sometimes, you can see grease on the seats and armrests, and hair oils on headrests. Yeah, it's pretty gross but whenever I watch movies here, I always wear long sleeves and put my hood up so I don't make contact with all that nastiness. Then, when I come back home, I just throw everything in the washing machine. Additionally, the concession stand (specifically where you get sodas) needs to be wiped down more often. It's off-putting when things feel sticky and unorganized. For full transparency, I've also emailed this location directly with this important feedback. * Sometimes the popcorn doesn't taste fresh. However, an easy fix for this is to request that it's scooped directly from the popper box (opposed from the warming area). * I've gotten their Chicken Tenders a couple times and unfortunately, they weren't great both times (they were extremely dry). I don't recommend them. Despite this theater's shortcomings, I'll continue to watch New Releases here... it gets the job done and like I said earlier, it's convenient for me given the distance from my home. read more

This is our go-to movie theater, and we recently came to watch Wild Robot. The kids loved the entire experience, from the great sound system to the amazing premium seats that let you lean all the way back for a super comfortable viewing. The popcorn was fresh, and a quick tip: if you purchase a large popcorn, you get a free refill! We also love that there's plenty of parking and lots of fun things to do around the area. Love the large reclining seats in this theatre, I can sit with legs straight out in front of me just like I do at home in my chaise couch. So comfortable! Actually even a little wider than i or for, but people come in all shapes and sizes so it's all good. I always bring a light shawl so I can wrap myself in a "blanket" and cozy up for the movie. No more knee or n Ce pain after watching a movie. Oh, and the seats are truly stadium so I've never had a blocked view. Go on Tuesdays when movies are just $6. Makes all the difference! For an extra $1.70 service fee, order through Fandango, pick your seat, then you can show up right when movie starts or even 15 minutes late if you are like me and sometimes don't want to watch the previews. Popcorn is tasty, and as other Yelpers suggested, we mixed half kettle with regular and it was the perfect blend. In addition to ice-cream, theatre candy and candy by the pound, they have hot food like pizza, hot dogs and nachos. Lots of parking in front and back. Close to several restaurants if you want dinner first. Or late night HH at McMenamins afterwards. Stretching out in a reclining seat and watching a great movie on the big screen sure does feel great! Even better with delicious snacks! I am normally a big popcorn with epic butter plus a cherry slush. I had already ordered when I see they now have frozen lemonade that apparently they just started offering. OHHHHH...future goal! Fast and friendly folks to help you out and it is close to home. I am not sure why but every time I see something here I am always subjected to someone in the theater with either small kids (like ridiculously young and I do not tend to see anything a small child should be watching) or who are with a bunch of friends (or even just the one) and need to "chat" throughout. No really...STOP...or just stay home. Watch something streaming and you can do whatever...hell, you do not even have to wear pants if you stay home. I thought maybe after the apocalypse was over, folks like this might learn to adult but no. I appreciate you wanting to see movies but I definitely did not buy my ticket to listen to you hushing your three toddlers you took to a horror movie or chatting with your friend! Staff was friendly and professional. Partially self-serve snack bar gets you through faster than most theaters. And the seats in our theater would put LazyBoy recliners to shame. They're wide, amply cushioned, and have footrests to prop your legs up into the (very wide) aisle in front of your seat. Wow. We'll be back! read more

I had ordered 3 16oz Aguas Frescas Strawberry drinks for my friends to enjoy Venom The last Dance in real 3D but our drinks never arrived! As usual no one wants interruptions when something new begins like going to restrooms or going for our drinks that had been order online and were supposed to arrive but never did. We decided that going for our drinks was not worth more than missing parts of the movie, we thought asking about them at the end was a better idea. We then asked for our drinks when we were heading out because we were thirsty of course and curious as to what had happened but the response from stuff was a surprising dead stone face followed by "we are closed some mns ago", it was dramatic moment, without any signs of efforts for assisting the puzzling situation of drinks any farther I concluded that hopeless response was the actual extent of help we were given. read more

It'll include one movie, and any addition ticket will cost $8.99. So, it definitely saves you some money. Went for a 9:30 3d showing of Captain Marvel. Freaking awesome! This theater is very nice. The seating is very comfortable, roomy, and recline. They offer popcorn, ice cream, pizza, nachos, chips, candy, hot dogs and possibly other stuff. That is all I could remember. They have lots of drink options, I really stopped caring of all the pop, slurpy, wine, beer when I saw I can make an Arnold Palmer. YES they have tea!! Happy day!! Fathom Event at Cedar Hills Cinema. Went to see To Kill a Mockingbird this afternoon...great film but the theater was freezing, the armrests were greasy had candy stuck to them. The theater itself is "okay", its a very basic no frills theater with minimal food and drink options. The floors of the theater could be cleaner, its often dirty whenever we're there. However the main issue is that the other movie-goers leave a lot to be desired. Without fail, everytime Ive gone here the people next to me have been loud, constantly using their phone at full brightness, and talking throughout the movie. I tried watching the new Dungeons and Dragons movie tonight and had difficulty paying attention because both the person on my left and the person on m right had their phones at full brightness. read more

My wife and I paid $25 dollars to FREEZE in this place. Several people in the theater were complaining about how cold it was during the previews. I went out and told an employee about the issue and went back to the theater...and it remained shivering cold. I went to talk to manager after and he said that he just flipped the breakers because someone told them 5 minutes ago.... The employee he was standing next to was the one that I told two hours before so it was pretty lame he would say he just heard about the issue... terrible service and overall experience. This theater has been remodeled so all auditoriums have big reclining chairs. It's assigned seating only, so it's good to buy your tickets earlier unless you don't mind sitting in the front. There are 2 lines for concessions, then you pay at the cash registers further down. Tuesday is Discount day with $5.75 tickets. Service is friendly--I haven't had any problems here. read more

We had time to kill so we decided to catch Avengers: Infinity War. The cashier at the ticket booth was very nice and helpful. The popcorn and drink prices were a lot cheaper than in CA.
