    Park, play area
    Cory F.

We just moved to the Houston area & my son loves this park. Of course it gets super busy at peak times, but there's a large assortment of play equipment and all the swings are in good condition. The splash pad is only open a few months out of the year (closed now), but my son is patiently waiting for it to open back up. Highly recommend for your littles!

New (redone 2016) splash pad at Nottingham Park. Geared toward very small children and no longer for teens!

Ok, here's the best outline of this park that I can give as of March 2017. 1- The splash pad has just been redone last summer, and it is way more little kid friendly now! Still concrete, but extremely textured and the babies don't seem to slip as much now. My 2 year old has never had an issue. Also, since they installed some soft animal sprays vs. the giant water toys that used to be there, this has "weeded out" the children who are way too old to be playing in the same area as babies. Nowadays I only see ages 5 and under, which is awesome. 2- I've noticed that the park keeps up extremely well with fixing broken fixtures. I visit this park at least 2/3 times a week, so i notice everything that breaks and it's always replaced within a week. 3- During the week, I'd recommend not being here after 4pm. The local teens like to hang out and use obscene language and play on the equipment with no regard for the little kids. I have no problem asking them nicely to have respect and be cautious of little ones, but if you don't wanna deal with it, just leave before school lets out. 4- The large jogging path is awesome, the open area is awesome, and now there's an adult workout area with pull up and sit up stations, rock wall, etc. 5- I will say you need to be careful with your car. Like any park, there are people up to no good. DO NOT leave anything visible in your car. Also, do not put your purse in the trunk at the park, bc there can be people watching you. I put my purse in the trunk at home then drive here. I would caution here as well as anywhere in the world- never be in the park after dark, never leave valuables in sight, etc etc. Other than that, it is safe and clean, and very multi-cultural. Be friendly and you'll be fine. Most of the people are families with small children looking to have a nice day.

3.5 stars Cool place…read moreto hangout, but dang, why the metal slides in Houston? We went on a cloudy, cooler day (high of 81) in March, but the slides were still too hot. There is some shade provide by the canopies but definitely not enough. The bottom of the slides were still hit by the sun, and they're hot enough to burn you. I don't even wana think about in the middle of summer when Houston gets up to 100 degrees. My 2.5 yo enjoyed the playground otherwise. It was just too hot to enjoy all the things. She did really enjoy the water part and the sand. (We brought her swimming shirt and shorts, and she just walked in the sand and water barefoot. Surprisingly the concrete sidewalks didnt feel hot.) I stayed very close to her as she walked around the metal platforms (i could see this as being super dangerous, especially if crowded). The individual family restrooms are on the water side btw. The park side does not have changing tables in the restrooms. We saw some swings nearby, but there was no shade whatsoever (trees, canopies), which is a bummer bc she loves swings. Carousel is closeby. $3/ride or $6 all day. Parking is a bit further. We found free parking near the roundabout (Googlemaps: Parking man (Free parking)). We went around lunch on a Monday so there was a handful of empty spots, however on a weekend, forget about it. I absolutely hate driving down here. We walked through the Japanese Garden (recommend) since it's on the way to the playground.

Amazing place, water park & playground combined, stay cool and get creative with water leveraging…read moredamning etc
