I was referred to Dr. Naimehr by my doctor for an occasional low back spasm I developed, and have specifically asked her to never refer anyone else to him again. His care over the last seven months moved from friendly to casual to indifferent to unexpectedly hostile. He initially explained that I had caused serious damage by working through pain during my apartment move several months before, and warned me that I needed to be very careful in resting it to keep from causing even more damage. Not wanting to risk that, I followed all of his recommendations to the letter, but my pain only became significantly worse over the 7 months he treated me. He eventually referred me to a neurosurgeon for a consult. The confused surgeon told me the original MRIs showed no nerve involvement, and thus nothing surgery could even treat. When I went back in confusion to Dr Naihmehr, his CYA, lying, gas-lighting, incoherent response was truly surreal, and would have been funny, were it not so emotionally devastating. Despite various documents and even witnesses to what he had told me, he now completely denied both his initial diagnosis and also denied ever prescribing the serious restrictions in movement I'd been dutifully following the whole time. (Even though I had carefully checked and re-checked his instructions with him at each of my six visits). Refusing to make eye contact the entire time, he grew more hostile and frankly confused. He finally told me that I'd exhausted all of his possible treatment options for healing the damage to no avail; then said that there actually *was* no treatment for the type of back problems I had; and then that there was nothing of significance wrong with my back in the first place that simple OTC pain medications wouldn't handle. Finally he accused me of causing my own problem initially; of lying about the pain I'd been experiencing at various points; then actually blamed me for continuing to follow his instructions after they had not produced results. As it is, I am still working to regain the strength and stamina I lost over those seven wasted, difficult months. But in three weeks of abandoning all of his instructions, I am almost back to feeling as well as I did when I first walked into his office back in January. Had I any hope of success in getting this "doctor" thrown out of his field or suing him for malpractice, I would not hesitate. read more

This review is solely for the front desk's utter haplessness and unprofessionalism. They are entirely hopeless. I called them to schedule an appointment for my mother, they scheduled it for Saturday (Nov 9, 2019). We showed up and saw a note on the door indicating that they had moved to a new location in Reseda. Since Reseda was not too far from the original location, I stupidly drove there. The building owner and the security guard of the Reseda location told me they were not open on Saturdays. Of course the whole time I was trying to get someone on the phone - all in vane. I sure had nothing else to do with my Saturday than to drive to God's forsaken Reseda from Hollywood. I called them the next Monday and left a scathing message telling them how uncivil it was of them to schedule us for a day they should have known they were going to be closed and not even bother to tell their customers that they had moved. I shudder to think what their physical therapy services are like. One star for the note on the door. So thoughtful of them! read more

Surely only five stars are appropriate for Dr. Niamehr and his team especially Shyara and Griselda. I began seeing this doctor a few years ago. I have multiple debilitating conditions and while pursuing disability, a lit of paperwork required for completion. He has always been very present and thorough and he listens attentively, noting all my concerns. He ends every visit asking if I need anything else. Dr.Niamehr is a kind and considerate doctor with compassion for people who are in legitimate pain

I have only written positive Yelp reviews. I must make an exception, however, as my experience with Dr. Nouriel Niamehr was profoundly disappointing and shockingly unprofessional. I tried not to give any stars, but Yelp requires at least one. My Mom had an extraordinary pain manager (Dr. Mahras Akhavan in Sherman Oaks) from whom she received "facet joint injections" to manage extreme back pain over the past two years. They were successful and gave her relief for 6-8 months after each injection. Dr. Akhavan, unfortunately, left my Mom's designated medical group, so she was forced to find a new pain manager. Her insurance company recommended Dr. Niamehr. She went to Dr. Niamehr last week. He asked her where the pain was, she pointed to a few spots on her back, and after saying "this isn't as strong as what you used to get" he injected her several times. The doctor did not review her most recent MRI; he did not have her take an xray; he did not read her chart from the previous doctor to learn what has been done in the past; he did not know that she has scoliosis and osteoporosis, in addition to the bulging discs that cause her back pain. HE MERELY ASKED WHERE THE PAIN WAS & INJECTED HER SEVERAL TIMES. This resulted in her being bedridden for over a week due to the unfathomable pain that these mystery injections caused her. Over a week ago, I left a message for Dr. Niamehr so that I could find out what he injected my Mom with and why he did not review her MRI and medical records prior to doing anything to her. After speaking with three office employees over the past week, Dr. Niamehr finally called me today. The conversation started off well, but then turned sour. He was getting angry with me for asking him what he injected my Mom with and why he didn't review any of her previous scans or medical records. He even admitted that he didn't know what she was previously injected with because he didn't have her records!! When I told him that his actions were careless and my Mom not ended up bedridden for over a week due to his actions, he kept interrupting me while accusing me of interrupting him. Then...HE HUNG UP ON ME! He's a doctor, a medical professional, and he hung up on me. I was flabbergasted. I called Dr. Niamehr's office back after he hung up on me, and he coincidentally just left for the day. I demanded a return phone call so that I could continue the conversation. I do plan to report him to the medical board that governs him, as his careless treatment of my Mom and his lack of professionalism on the phone with me warrants it. It will be my first complaint of this type, despite having hundreds of medical experiences with both of my aging parents. Dr. Niamehr is a disgrace to the medical field and epitomizes the phrase "practicing medicine" as he clearly is not an expert at it. I had called Dr. Akhavan, her previous pain manager, told him the situation, and he fully agreed that Dr. Niamehr was absolutely careless for treating a brand-new patient without having reviewed prior medical records. Dr. Akhavan agreed to see my Mom as a "cash patient" since he doesn't take her insurance, she saw him a few days ago, he gave her the correct facet joint injection that actually works, and it was $750 well spent. She is on the mend now. If you need a pain manager, please take my advice and avoid Dr. Niamehr. He will worsen your condition. Go see Dr. Akhavan -- his is an expert in his field, has a serious, but sweet bedside manner, and treats my Mom with respect and quality care. The ladies at the front desk are also extremely kindhearted. read more

Dr. Niehmer has always been great to me. He recommends that I call to follow up if something is not working out with my medication and I need some adjustments. He is a little tough to get in contact with sometimes, but once he responds he is usually very helpful. I recommend him. read more
