My wife and I are so grateful for Dr. O. He is knowledgable, kind, and deeply caring about his patients. We have had 2 incidents where had to get emergency advice from him about accidents we were in. Not only did he make himself available, but he continually followed up with us to make sure we were doing ok. Days later he was coming to us with additional suggestions to aid recovery. His knowledge goes far beyond neurology, as he has helped us through viral infections and even a foot fracture. Unprofessional, weird office, seems to he associated with personal injury attorneys, very strange office, the office staff is not allowed to make appointments for patient to see doctor. No follow up, doctor seems caring at first, but in reality does no testing, when I insisted on an MRI he sat on results. I repeatedly asked for help, my husband suffered for months under his supposed care. When I asked repeatedly for mri results and ultimately desperate for help this monster had the nerve to respond with a curt text telling me to not text him, apparently it was his "personal" cell. NOT a word to me about the medical crisis my husband was experiencing. Had to get results of the MRI directly from imaging center and find a new doctor. Not only dealing with the TBI my darling husband is suffering from but also dealt with the nonsense this guy put us through for months. 5 stars must be bots. I called their office for a nerve study suggested by my surgeon. The very first question they asked was if I was represented by a lawfirm??!! Ha? No, I said. They followed by are you going to use your insurance? You mean the one I pay $1000 per month for? Sure, I said! The doctor does not accept insurance they said! Not sure who is writing the positive reviews but he probably pays for them and they are bots. I don't think he's a real doctor. I had the most unprofessional session with him and he won't share my results. My attorney can't even get my results from his office. He called another person the b word to me and left mid sentence and says "got to give an injection" and was incredibly weird and neurotic. I don't think he should be around people. This man needs a new career. Now my attorney needs to find another nurologist because this guy can't do his job. And it's read my results. read more

I had 2 appointment at Dr. Okhovats office following my car accident I chose his office due to its availability not proximity as I was taking personal leave to go to these important appointments the first time was not the greatest experience staff at the front was ok not bad but It seemed as though he was busy I was late for work but hey it happens. Appointment number 2 I made sure on my end I arrived early so that I would not miss work time again , I arrived 30 min prior to my 10:30 upon arrival the receptionist told me that Dr. Okhovat was in a meeting that I should go get lunch and come back I told her no it's ok I'm on my lunch now and I'm in a schedule , I waited for 10:30 and at 10:30 without apology receptionist walks up and tells me Dr. Okhovat won't be here until 11 he's in a meeting , to me it seemed as though he was double booking his clients and was simply making them wait this did not sit well with me i would honestly never recommend this this place, He does not value everyone's time equally definitely didn't value my time . read more

Dr. Mahyar Okhovat is an exceptional neurologist. Seeing him was more productive than a visit to the ER! I was so impressed. He is incredibly knowledgeable about different pains including the nerves. He took good care of me and I cannot express my gratitude enough to him as well as his friendly staff. Dealing with medical staff can be a headache at times, however it was refreshing to see Odessa and Cassandra knowing their way around the office. They were so patient with me, attentive, and quick. I went to the neurologist with symptoms that were going on for nearly half a year. During my consultation the doctor tried one thing and basically said he didn't know what was going on. That was the extent of help that he provided. I proceeded to call back weeks later out of desperation as my symptoms were still their and not improving. The doctor gave me an attitude as if I was bothering him and offered to prescribe a medication that "won't work"..but he said he would prescribe it anyway like he was doing me some favor. The medicine made me feel far worse and barely had anything to do with the symptoms I presented. I then asked for a few scans since...you know...I've had these symptoms for about 6 months straight. The front desk people told me they would only request these scans if the doctor found it necessary and never called me back. I called back numerous times and it was as if they never spoke with me before and nothing had been done. Their was no urgency or care in the world to help with my ongoing situation. It got to the point where I had to have my parents call for the office to take action and request tests which ironically they responded to and submitted for immediately after they called which shows the type of people you are dealing with. These people should not be in healthcare and it's a shame that this doctor is in the neurological space with clearly not a care in the world to actually work with patients to get them better. Dr O is a life saver, I drive to him from Agoura!! He has multiple centers including Thousand Oaks, Encino, and Beverly Hills. Originally I was nervous about going because doctors scare me, but when I entered, the staff was so kind, the facility so clean, and Dr. O was so nice. He makes you feel like he's your fri bd, he gets to know his patients, their routine, and habits to best figure out what the proper diagnosis is. What I really like is that his recommendations aren't completely outlandish and they are doable. I can easily incorporate his advice into my daily routine without extremely altering everything so it's easy to maintain and effective. I was having chronic migraines and I thought Advil and Tylenol would help but after a while the pain became unbearable. A friend recommended Dr O. He is amazing he carefully listened to my concerns as I explained in detail and he outlined all my options for prevention and treatment. When he was able to reduce my headaches and neck pain he became really excited and I could tell that it sincerely made him happy that he could help me suffer less.
