This is the most open cavern I have ever been in and you almost feel like you are in a dark warehouse, it's so big! No "tight" spaces of any kind. Heights might be your issue if that is a concern. If you have any climbing, repelling, spelunking, or exploring experience, this is a "walk in the park" for you. No experience is needed and they take care of everything. The Ugly: It felt a little sketchy going down the barren hallway. It was a 5 min walk that felt like you were going through an industrial hallway and it just felt out of place to keep going if the signs were not there. On to my next adventure....

Xtremenasium Trampoline Park is fine for doing all of those things that kids love to do. It has multiple trampolines, a trampoline dodge ball court, a ninja warrior course, multiple foam pits, an indoor playground for young kids, and a few other features. The admission fee grants you unlimited access to everything for one hour, which was more than enough time for my kids. Honestly, I'm glad they limited it to one hour, because then I didn't have to be the bad guy and drag them away from their fun. It was more like, "Oh no! We have to leave! Our one hour is done! Xtremenasium said we have to go!" It's Xtremenasium's fault, see? Not mine. The whole thing was too stimulating for me, and I was ready to leave after about 10 minutes. But our visit to this trampoline park wasn't about me. It was about my kids, and taking them to a place that was fun for them, so nevertheless, I persisted. I ignored the crowds and screaming and lack of fresh air, as you do at these places. But the reason for the three stars is that all of those stimulating things seemed a tad more amplified here, and everything I touched was just a touch grimier than it should have been. I don't know -- your mileage may vary, depending on how high-strung you are. In the end, Xtremenasium served its purpose. My kids were here to bounce and play and leave sweaty, and they did and had a good time.

It has a spacious interior with a variety of routes for bouldering, top rope, auto-belay, and lead climb. The walls are much taller than other gyms I've been to and make the routes much challenging. Some of the grading doesn't seem very consistent. Staff is nice. Kids and adults of all ages are welcome. It's definitely fun to experience it at least once! The day pass is currently $30 per person with all gear rentals included. No price reduction if you bring your own gear. The membership cost is hefty, $100 per month or $80 if prepay... that's close to 1K per person at a minimum. One membership bonus is that all classes are free. If I resume climbing on a regular basis, I might consider shelling out some $$.

The staff were very friendly and detailed on how to get prepared for climbing the wall with the harnesses and also the ins and outs of each level of difficulty. My son loved climbing, as this is definitely his wheelhouse, but not necessarily mine lol. There were numerous walls to climb with the ropes/harnesses utilized and other boulder walls with a harness or rope not used but with a padded flooring under the ways. There is a wall for each level of climber from beginner to seasoned. If you want to try something new or get more practice on your skills, LEF is perfect for you! We will come back soon!

Finding this place is almost as hard as climbing up the wall for the first time. It's waaaay in the…read moreback of a business zone so keep an eye out for the signs that guide you towards the door. Once inside, you will be able to rent/buy any equipment that will get you (safely) up the walls. It had been a long time since I climbed so I did take the quick belay course $6 and was climbing up the wall in no time. If you just want to climb on the shorter walls (called bouldering) you will not need to have a harness or take the class. You will need to buy a day pass $10 or some other membership. Shoe rental is $4 and I skipped that as I did it in a pair of vibram five fingers shoes. The only other cost for rope climbing is for a harness ($4). So, for either $20 or 24 you can find yourself climbing up one of the various walls, each with its own unique challenge. Some of the walls are really difficult and some are just difficult enough that you will feel really proud of yourself if you can reach the top. And pay no attention to those around you that scale the walls like spiders, they were just like you once. The vibe is really chill and people are friendly and able to offer advice if you need it. I recommend taking breaks every once in a while so that your arms can rest and watch other climbers. My best tip is to use your legs, they are much stronger than your arms and will really get you up the wall. Climbing is very challenging and I really find it both frustrating and rewarding. You will have fun (go with some friends: they do have group rates) and get a workout too!
