Grilled Pineapple Margarita and Miami Vice.
    Tom K.

Went here for brunch on Mother's Day. Quirky place with an indoor putt-putt course spanning two levels of an older building intertwined with tables/booths and a huge upstairs bar with festive lighting. We enjoyed the vibe - although it seemed like a tiki/Hawaiian-themed bar would be playing Hawaiian/luau-type music instead of random tunes. Anyway, no biggie. It's a cool place. Service was attentive though a bit slow at first, We ordered drinks - a Miami Vice and a Grilled Pineapple Margarita. They were decent, but didn't knock our socks off. Wife had the French Toast with a side of bacon, which they forgot, then upon bringing it to the table it was undercooked. I had the Cali Burger (double smashburger) with tater tots and it was a 10/10. Beware that some of the cocktail prices on the website are outdated - ours were $1 more than what was posted. Overall, the food gets 5 stars despite the bacon snafu - the flavors were that good. Everything else gets 3.5 stars. We look forward to going back for dinner at the upstairs bar sometime.

Cool location. Plenty of places to park. The food was not great. The crab Rangoon dip did not taste like crab. It was also a very small container. Not worth $14. We also got the pineapple fried rice with teriyaki steak. The rice was almost like wet, like overcooked rice. The teriyaki steak was also not cut up. It was on a skewer on the side of the plate. So had to cut it up and put in the rice. It was not the easiest to cut either. The fried plantains was the only good thing. I would not go there to eat again. Maybe just to play games and a strong drink. That's it.

We came here for a girls Saturday brunch and it was the perfect vibe. Lovely remodel with the Hawaiian theme and menu. Brunch was delicious and we didn't stay to putt putt but will be back to do just that. Fast and friendly. Street parking is free or meters but the lot is pay per space.

Ok, let's start with the positives. We originally had a reservation for 6 and ended up having more people show up than planned. They were easily able to find a corner round booth that fit all of us. So many thanks for that! And if you go, just know that even though parking is paid, they have a QR code inside that will validate and give you free parking so don't pay before you go in. The Brussels Sprouts and all our appetizers were quite good! The place is quite cute - a little small but charming. On to the disappointing part of this review. Our service was really lacking. The waitress would completely ignore my friend who asked questions and turned to talk to someone else at our table. At first I thought she didn't hear her but she did it multiple times and it was rude. She also forgot about us after the apps came out. We waited and waited and had to flag her down to order our mains. Then, the food that came out seemed like it had been sitting a while because several of us felt our dishes were lukewarm. When it came time to split the bill, she didn't remember what anyone had and had to go through each person, which took forever. We had another reservation at 8 and were late for that because of the hold up here. No joke, we arrived at 5:30 and did not get main food until after 7 and checks until almost 8 because everything was so slow. That's quite a long time, in my opinion. The bar service wasn't great either. We got ignored and drinks took forever to make. I don't know what was going on, but I wouldn't go back or recommend eating here based on all these factors.

I was slightly nervous to eat here - only because of me being too picky for the menu. I was wrong. Plus, the portions are great! Island lumpia filled with meat. Six large pieces, easy to share or make as your meal. The sweet chili has a good kick. Queso was smooth and flavorful. My husband is allergic to plantains and they offered him flaky wonton chips. Cauliflower nuggets. So yummy that I don't know it was cauliflower. They come with several starters. The pork sliders were okay - I was surprised that despite the various toppings that I still found them a bit bland. Maybe it was because my starters were amazing? My husband got the pineapple fried rice. He liked it but didn't love it. I tried to tell him - it's a lot of pineapple. My Kona Wave draft was so cold! I was surprised it had so much flavor. At $4, awesome price too. Lovely service and we had fun chatting with our server. The downstairs area has comfy, huge booths. It's loud - between the people and music. They have an upstairs area as well that's open during busier times, plus the 9-hole golf course. We will be back!

California Double with cheese and bacon. Great burger, toasted bun, great toppings and tater tots? Good stuff!

This is a fun joint in Butchertown. I went with some friends, got some drinks, chow, and a round of put put. Real solid, I would totally visit again. It's a fun place worth the money. Cool tropical drink selection too. The ambiance was neat and I can tell they put solid effort into it. Check it out

What drew me in? Rumor has it (eg Instagram reels) that South Seas is a great date spot. Can confirm - it's fabulous for both a fun date or groups. And the menu - a unique blend of SoCal, Mex, and Hawaiian that you don't find anywhere else. What made my experience extra special? Two things - first, the half price Thursday margarita special certainly helped! The drinks were really tasty, each felt special regardless of the 'deal' whereas at other places it's a half hearted well drink. Not here. Second, the food was awesome. We split the appetizer short ribs which were delightful and generous, and the pineapple fried rice and still took home leftovers and I relished eating those, too. That elusive 5th star missing? Although it was a beautiful day, the outside patio wasn't open, and the upstairs bar was not open. Also, we had an unfortunate chip in a margarita glass that our server took care of right away. I have a feeling if I come back on a Friday or Saturday these areas will be hopping, and I'll update my review. I honestly can't believe it took me so long to get here, and now I can't wait to go back and try out more of the menu. Maybe this time with girlfriends for brunch or after a Racing FC game - easily walkable from the stadium!

South Seas - Mini Golf Meets Tiki Dreams South Seas is what happens when a Hawaiian luau crashes into a glow-in-the-dark golf course--and I'm here for it. Upstairs is a mini golf course that's part amusement park, part fever dream: sea monsters, zombies, and planets all make an appearance. It's like if your favorite childhood nightmares met Pixar. The food? Delicious Pacific-Asian fusion that doesn't try too hard. The drinks? Beautiful and boozy. But the real highlight? Laughing so hard with old friends that I nearly whiffed a golf ball into Neptune's moon crater. Can't wait to go back, even if my golf game remains... unprofessional.

First time here and excited to find a Tiki Restaurant in the area. The decor is super cute and if you want social photos, great place! The drinks and decor get 4 Stars! We went right when they opened so no one there but can imagine it gets super crowded later in the day. Immediately greeted and got a cute booth. Found it odd that their dessert was in a case at the front - felt like given the decor it should have had a cuter display. We had a Mai Tai and Saturn to drink and both were really well made drinks! Highly recommend the cocktails here! We started with Crab Rangoon Dip and Firecracker Lumpia. The dip was good and plenty but way too much cheese, overtook the other flavors. Plenty of wonton chips with it. Now the lumpia should really be called a Polynesian Egg Roll. Definitely didn't taste like lumpia and flavors were just okay. The main dish Char Siu Platter was plenty to share. Bok Choy was good and refreshing, served with steam rice. The pork was okay, nothing really specially and decent flavor but just like a pork you would put into your ramen. Mac Salad was pretty good. It's a fun spot and good to stop into for a drink. Like some Tiki places, drinks were awesome and food was okay (but you need to eat to support the stiff drinks - which are worth it). They also have a mini golf area which we didn't try but was cute.

Service was a little slow but the drink and the food was yummy. The nachos were loaded and egg rolls were very filling. Both were appetizers but big enough to share. The outside patio was spacious and there was nice music playing. The putt putt was only two holes which is great for kids but I'm not sure how fun it is for adults.

Came for the viral soft serve margaritas and left disappointed and in no hurry to ever come back!! We waited an hour for our food and it came out cold the waitress was not friendly at all. Very disappointed. Not their fault but I would not recommend sitting outside they're right next to the stockyards and it smells horrible so it wasn't pleasant but I get that they can't change that.

Went on a Wednesday night and didn't have to wait but they were fairly crowded. Side parking lot available. Friendly and efficient wait staff throughout the night. They have happy hour specials from 4-6 during the week and then also week day specific specials. Wednesdays they had $10 cocktails and also half price tap beer. Kona draft beer was $2! Enjoyed the crab Rangoon appetizer. Recommend the pineapple fried rice and sesame chicken. The entrees were a little pricey at $21-$24 but you do get a whole of food.

We had a couple cocktails in here and the service was excellent even though it appeared they were filled to capacity. There were 4 of us in our party and we were seated at a table in the corner near the bar. Was definitely a cozy spot with so many people being in there and the bar being full. I had The Holy Ghost cocktail and it was a pomegranate hibiscus sour, it had just the right amount of sour! I do not like bitter drinks and this one was good and easy to drink. My husband had a couple of dark beers, I do not remember which ones but he liked them. They had a nice outdoor area but it was a bit too cool for that but it may be worth a return in the Spring to check it out. Bathroom was also really cool as the decor and theme spilled over into it. We will be back.
