My car was driving perfectly fine when I brought it to DAS Performance. After having work done there, I left with my vehicle and now my car won't even start. I'm also dealing with additional warning messages/issues that were not happening before I brought the vehicle in. What is especially frustrating is that I trusted this shop with my vehicle expecting to leave with it in better condition, and instead I'm now dealing with a car that cannot even start. I'm not here to argue with anyone or tell people what decision to make. I'm simply sharing my personal experience so people can do their own research before taking their vehicle there. Please ask questions, document everything, and get a second opinion before authorizing repairs. I wish I had done more of that beforehand. I will be documenting what happened, including the work performed and the issues that occurred afterward, because I believe customers deserve to know exactly what they're getting into. Again, this is my personal experience with DAS Performance. Please do your own research before taking your vehicle there.

A HIDDEN GEM IN STAFFORD... NO SIGN. NO ADVERTISING AND NO PROBLEMS!…read more So about two years ago I was referred to Cecil the owner/mechanic at Aruka. His price for a timing belt on my 2003 was about 65% lower than everyone else. He recommended I do the water pump at the same time.. gave me a list of items I would need and allowed me the option to supply my own parts. He completed the job in half a day as promised and all was well. A month or so later my OTHER vehicle was having an issue with the heater not blowing very hot. I it it off for a few weeks as it wasn't that cold and the year before my previous mechanic quoted me a heat element and a relay of sorts.. but I didn't do it then as it was the end of the season. Then on the way home one night the car temp needed started climbing into the red so I pulled over waited for the car to cool down.. checked the radiator and found it full and green. My thoughts... water pump or hopefully the lesser cost thermostat. I dropped the car at Aruka and an hour later he told me it was the lower radiator and recommended a replacement. CHEAP in comparison to other quotes I got around. He also told me the two problems were most likely related... and they wer e. One repair and the heat was blowing and the car was cooling. Now he was a trusted advisor... So a few months later I went to check the oil on my third vehicle and found the upper radiator hose collapsed flat. So I went to the parts store and got a new hose thinking that is the issue... old hose and two clamps later I was done... on my to find the new hose collapsed the next day. I asked the counter folks at the parts store and they thought thermostat or water pump. But I called Cecil to confirm and sight unseen he said.. radiator cap.. $9. And done. He was right. Recently he rewired my utility trailer and was able to fix a ground problem I have been trying to correct since 2005. He also rewired my van hitch relay when no other mechanic wanted to touch it... also finding a hidden fuse in the link I would have never known to look for otherwise. Bottom line... this guy has no sign on his shop, doesn't advertise, but is always busy enough, but not so busy that he can't get it done in a day. He stays later when he has too so you don't have to. Heck one time I couldn't get back to town until after 9pm and he told me not to worry about it and he would send me a bill. WHAT.. Trust the customer?! I know he probably would not want to spend the day with my kids.. but I trust him enough in every level... even with my kids. Of recent he completed a timing, a tune up, and a brake job... all at reasonable pricing and without issue. Need a mechanic you can REALLY TRUST? Look no further... but know that his shop is hidden behind Mercer Trucking in the same property... no sign, no fan fair, no waiting room or coffee... but a great service experience with positive results. Look no further... go to Aruka and say Hi to Cecil.

I brought it up to them and they admitted to accidentally scraping it. They also over charged liked crazy. I paid almost 1400 dollars and they gave my car back messed up.
