Luis is a master! Luis completely restored 2 Harmony acoustics I had from the 60's. I cannot…read morebelieve how amazing they are. I have never played better guitars in my life! They both needed a lot of work. They both needed neck resets, new frets, new strap buttons, he brought the tuning machines back to perfection, he reshaped one of the fretboards since the neck had som bow to it, he fixed big body cracks to the point of not being able to tell they were there, one of the tops was separating from the side, he put a new brass saddle on one, new nuts, the way he sets up guitars makes them play like butter, and they are perfectly intonated. I've also taken two other guitars to Luis. I got the frets leveled on one, and got an amazing setup. He made a bone saddle for the other one with his amazing setup. He's also given me so much great advice on how to take care of my guitars better. On top of that, he's a wonderful person to talk to. Thank you for everything Luis! I will return forever.

Al, is an amazing luthier, who is able to work wonders on all types of electric guitar, from an…read moreEpiphone Emperor I Joe Pass model (hollow body) to a solid body Agile Pendulum Elite 92527. The Ephiphone needed a complete overhaul of the electronics (pickups and controls) and a setup of the strings afterwards since a new piezo bridge was also installed. Prior to this work, the pots were quite noisy, and there were issues with the 1/4" output where it was also crackly depending upon movement. The pickups were replaced with a fairly standard set of Seymour Duncans (SH-2N and SH-4B), the wiring harness was removed and replaced with a much quieter (read shielded) setup, new pots and a new 1/4" output jack. The sound of this instrument while plugged in has drastically improved and now has a bit more versatility when it comes to live and studio usage. There was a little less work with the Agile solid body, where it needed to be updated with stacked pots in order to give a more Gibson-esque control layout of two volumes and two tone pots (one pair for each pickup) to replace the standard master volume, master tone. This allows the guitar to have more tonal variation, especially when both pickups are in use. In both cases the work was done promptly and with an expected series of charges. Al is probably one of the better luthiers when it comes to communications (including pictures) on what is going on with the respective job orders. Like the others on this board, I highly recommend your repair/setup work come his way.

Conrad mastered my band's home recorded and mixed EP. He was very affordable ($100 for two songs)…read moreand did it in a very timely manner. He managed to add a solid low end to my mixes, all while removing mud and brightening up the tracks. He mastered them for streaming services, and although he got them very loud in level, he managed to not brick wall them, which was nice. I've also seen Ben work a few times with recording sessions. He has a great ear and can offer great artistic input, as well. He even asked if we wanted him to shut-up and just record and mix, which is a good trait if you bring in your own project producer who's calling the shots. I would definitely recommend and I am planning on having Conrad Master the second EP, whenever it gets finished! These guys do rock and metal the right way! "Best Decision We Could Have Made"…read more Being an all vocal (a cappella) cover band focusing on R&B and Hip-Hop hits of the last 5 decades, we at Pitches Be Crazy (PBC) knew that producing our debut album would be a challenge. Our live shows incorporate technology and hardware that help to deliver a "full band" sound with only 5 vocalist. So as we approached how we wanted the album to sound, we wanted something that would give our fans that same feel of the live experience but in a professionally produced product. After recording all of the raw tracks in our in-house studio, we reached out to Blue Room Production (as recommended by a friend and local artist, Daniel "Yellow Tie Guy" Hill) to assist with the mixing and mastering of the album. From the beginning, Conrad (owner of Blue Room Productions) made us feel very comfortable, but more importantly, very confident that he and his team could meet our goals in producing this unique album. Additionally, the estimated costs were on target for our budget. We immediately signed up and began our journey to producing not just PBC's first album, but Blue Room Productions first project of this kind. Together, we would create something special. After an initial communication and "feeling out" period, we scheduled time with our assigned mix engineer, Devin Spears at the Virginia location of Blue Room Productions. The place is so comfortable that the most timid newbies to the studio world would feel welcome and encouraged to release ones inner "rockstar". Because of the uniqueness in our arrangements and overall sound, we began sitting in with Devin during mix sessions. Although we would guide the mixing process, it was Devin who recommended enhancements that really made the mix stellar. He took the time to listen and understand what we wanted the album to sound like. With very little guidance from us; Devin mixed everything quickly and accurately. After mixing the album, we spent a couple of hours with Conrad at Blue Room Production's Maryland location. A stark contrast from the Virginia location, Blue Room's studio in Maryland felt like you were on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. The space was just as comfortable as the Virginia location, but the vibe was so much more intense; as if we were about to embark on a mission to fight crime or something where in reality we were going to create the "dopest" R&B album ever! Throughout the mastering process, Conrad took the time to explain what he was doing. (This is not something that everyone wants to be a part, understands or even cares about, but I'm a tech guy so understanding the process and technique was welcome.) By the end of 2 hours, the debut album for PBC was complete and it far exceeds what we hoped for. Before partnering with Blue Room Productions, we toyed with the idea of mixing and mastering the album ourselves to try and save a few bucks but thankfully we came to our senses early and made the commitment to outsource these activities. We cannot begin to tell everyone that reads this that the money spent at Blue Room Productions is the smartest investment you can make for creating your produced music. Not only does Blue Room have access to a plethora of hardware and software to get your music sounding amazing, but also has a staff that are highly skilled and experienced and are second to none at what they do. Their awards for being some of the best in the business in the area is well deserved and saved us countless hours (and significant additional costs) had we tried to finish our album ourselves. Our journey with Blue Room Productions was one that we are very thankful for.
