We arrived 20 minutes early and…read morewent to the second office where he usually goes for procedures and entered through unlocked door to the office. After sitting there for over 35 minutes I told my husband, who walks with a walker, to sit there while I went to the other office down the hall to see if we were in the right place since no one had come to the desk to check us in. There I was told that we were in the wrong area and that he could not be seen since he was considered late by this office. I explained we had been sitting there all that time in an empty office with no service. If that office was closed for procedures today why was the door unlocked with no one there. I was told they didn't know because both offices did not communicate with each other. After being quite upset that he would be rescheduled another person came to the desk and said they had an opening for 11:00 if we wanted to wait. I said yes after driving an hour to get here and getting my husband out of the car and into the building we would wait. I then went down the hall to the other office to get my husband. Still an empty office, unlocked, and no front desk help. It's very unnerving to hear that two offices working for the same faculty do not communicate with each other and could care less about an unlocked, unmanned office, and handicapped people under their care.

I can't function. Their billing department also won't return my call. The doctor told me contact them to only use the primary insurance so I can get my injection that I desperately need. It's almost patient abuse.

I…read morehad a horseback riding incident, my fault for adding towards the end that I've been quite uncomfortable around my lower back hip area since giving birth. He just took that last part to sell me their in house shots. The doctor never touched my back, legs or let me do any of the stretches to get to the bottom of the problem. Not even considered imaging. Needless to say the shots didn't make anything better. They proceeded to suggest more shots during the follow up, which I declined. Then they referred me for an MRI. My insurance declined. After months of PT I've tried again and my insurance declined again. I gave up for about a year until my husband urged me to get a second opinion. Once I retrieved my records from this center I realized what the issue was very quick. The doctor didn't acknowledge the horseback riding incident at all!!! He treated me for issues I didn't have, just for their own benefit. My second opinion got the MRI approved immediately and the necessary surgery shortly after. Avoid this place at all cost!

Never proven, but Diarrhea lasted 4 weeks until I got help from a gastro doctor. (2)Doctor never examined me. (3)When Diarrhea just happened to start after 1st injection in back, I told lady who answered phone to cancel my 2 outstanding appointments as it was awfully funny I started Diarrhea same day as I got 1st injection. Lady never argued that I was wrong thinking there was a connection. So that tells me this has happened before in another person. (4)NEVER go to this place. She always takes as much time as needed to diagnose and set forth a plan of care. We decided that I will donate my body to a medical school to honor Dr Schneider. I have a good quality of life, due to this wonderful, caring and genius pain management physician. We wish she could find time to also be our primary care doctor as well. Dr Schneider is simply the best and we love her for what she has done for us.

My experience has been like this: The doctor and P.A. I've seen are cordial but cold, and they…read moreoffer little in the bedside manner department. The office staff and medical assistants are lukewarm (and at times, borderline incompetent). Sometimes, there's a sense of thinly veiled hostility underneath the surface, as if they all hold you in contempt. I've only encountered one person in the whole office who I can say has always been genuinely friendly instead of detached, like everyone else seems to be. As far as the appointments themselves: The first visit, they'll take their time with you and act as though you're important; every subsequent visit, you'll feel rushed, like they have more important things to do (unfortunately, this is common with many types of doctors these days, but it doesn't mean that it's right). Word of advice, the "rushed" feeling is far worse with the doctor than the P.A.. I call my visits with the doctor, "drive-bys." They all (the entire office) need to work on their LISTENING SKILLS; they cut you off in mid-sentence and seldom allow you to complete a thought, and you'll find yourself repeating the same things over and over every visit (reading a chart before-hand obviously takes too much time). I've been told one thing on one appointment, then a completely different thing on another appointment (if you do decide to go here, a word of advice: take someone with you so you don't think you're going crazy when this happens). You'd think that compassion would be a high-priority for a pain management practice, but not here (I've seen very little since becoming a patient). Also, I think it's important for a medical professional to get to know you as well as they possibly can because everyone's perception of pain and how they deal with that pain is different, but SMART can't even be bothered to associate your face with your name (also common nowadays, I know, but you deserve better). However, they have no problem whatsoever with fleecing both you and your insurance company under the guise of treating that pain. Yes, you will be billed (and billed and billed and billed). You know how sometimes you walk into a medical establishment and you can just tell that they're in it for the patient? And how other times you walk into a medical establishment and you can just tell that they're in it for the money? This establishment is an example of the latter. I thought that pain management would be wonderful, that I'd finally have someone in the medical profession who cares and sympathizes with my chronic pain and who'd help me deal with it comfortably; I was so wrong. It's unfortunate that there aren't many other pain doctors in my area, but you'd better believe that as soon as I find one, I'll be a FORMER patient.
