We had tried a couple other facilities and this has been the best experience thus far. What I feel separates T Street from others is their instructors are interactive and engaging the students. They put a name tag on each students shirt so they can properly address them and the facility is great! We will be here for the foreseeable future.

Based on our experience, here are the most critical things to verify before you commit: * Guaranteed Positions vs. Subbing: When offered a spot, ensure it is for the specific position your child wants to play. Do not accept vague promises of "potential playtime" or subbing opportunities. *Playtime Over Team Ranking: Don't get caught up in whether it is a 15-1, 15-2, or 15-3 team. A high-ranking team means nothing if your child spends the entire tournament on the bench, which causes immense frustration for both the player and the parents. *Coach Compatibility: Make sure you get a good vibe from the coach. A stubborn coach who refuses to listen or work with players will make the season feel hard, tedious, and heartbreaking for your child. *The True Cost: The base cost alone is incredibly high--around $7,000 to $8,000 and that does not include tournament fees or out-of-pocket travel expenses. Once you sign the contract, there is absolutely no recourse or refund. Save your time, money, and your child's mental well-being by researching thoroughly before joining.

Attending Wyse Basketball clinic for the first time impressed us so much that my son immediately loved their program. It was the perfect time that my son and Coach West met and worked together for a year because my son had the goal of playing for high school basketball. My son kept improving and he was always excited to learn everything Coach West had to teach him. It was another level of play for my son. He became more and more confident as his knowledge was increasing, that after a year of being in the academy, he went for the high school try-out and got accepted. Coach West helped him reach his goal. Coach West is very good in communicating with kids. He talks to them in a mild manner that makes the players feel respected. He taught not only basketball skills like defense and offense, but also respect and being humble in and out of the court. He encourages kids to prioritize academics and become responsible athletes.

There are no shortcuts here--just hard work and excellent instruction. The coaches know exactly what high school coaches are looking for. They prepared players not just physically, but mentally for the pressure of tryouts. The environment here is the perfect mix of competitive and supportive. The kids are pushed to be their best, also build them up . High recommend.

We decided to try out NJB (Huntington Beach chapter) based on some recommendations from friends…read more Note: most of them tried it summer/winter season when I guess there's more participants and more volunteer help. However, the spring season for the Rookie division (K-1, 5-7 year olds) was super disorganized from the start and it hasn't gotten better after numerous parents bringing up concerns throughout the season with Coach Dennis who happens to be the founder of NJB too. This has been the worst sports league we have ever joined! 1) They shouldn't have 5-7 year olds play together and if they do, they should divide the teams equally by skill level but that wasn't the case. One team had much taller, more experienced players that would often dominate during scrimmages. Some of the younger ones would get upset, feeling discouraged which isn't a good start when introducing a sport. 2) The league should provide more coaching for basics and fundamentals as it was the first time for some of the kids playing. That being said, all practices are run by parents who volunteer to coach including some who reluctantly did so. Sadly, they are not given any instruction on drills so it's up to them how they want to structure practices. This happened the first time where the paid coaches just watched the volunteer coaches figure out how to coach the kids without giving them any guidance. After complaints, Dennis told us from week 2 week, we would have someone professionally give our kids instruction the first 30 minutes, then scrimmage the last 30 minutes but sadly that only seemed to happen 3x. The paid referees were supposed to come for all the scrimmages/games, but didn't. We had parent volunteers step in with some of the weekend scrimmages/games and referee too when no professional from the league showed up. This was so unprofessional. 3) Game times were sometimes changed 1-3 days prior to the actual game or from a Sunday to Saturday. One weekend we weren't suppose to have a game, then we were emailed that same week that we would have one. 4) Not all updated games have been emailed out. So some parents downloaded the NJB app (which only some knew about) and said that was more updated on there, but that still didnt show all the upcoming games. 5) Rookie division plays with 8 feet (vs 10 feet hoop). We found out in order to have practice with 8 feet hoops, we have to pay additional rental fees to practice at local schools that have them. When asked if we get a partial/refund, Dennis flat out said "no" because everything was done as promised, which wasn't. I'll be sharing my experience with other families and mom groups that I'm a part of.

Communication was poor, schedules constantly changed, and there didn't seem to be much structure in place. The coaching was another major issue. There did not seem to be proper coaching in place, and most of the coaching was done by volunteer parents who did not appear to receive any training, courses, or clear instructions from the league. As a result, practices and games often lacked structure and player development. We also tried reaching out to the league director by email to express our concerns, but nothing changed and our concerns did not seem to be taken seriously. Overall, this league did not meet our expectations, and we would not sign up again.

Some courts had things better but overall it was a little disappointing. Flooring is hardwood so that's a plus, but quality of it isn't too good. It feels like sauna in there, with no ventilation and air flow. Luckily it's air conditioned in the cafe area.Dirty bathrooms daily overall the long weekend. Another downer is no in-and-outs for parking. First off $20 ain't cheap for parking. Also having games and other venues and having to come back, we spent $60 for parking for one of the days of this 3-day tournament ($40 on one of the other days amongst two facilities and $20 on the last day). And one more thing, you're forced to eat at the facility since there is nothing nearby (otherwise you have to pay for parking again if you leave to get food). Something needs to be done to resolve this hefty parking issue.

We've been here multiple times for tournaments, as most of them seem to be played here. Besides the long drive, the facility is pretty cool. Unfortunately, the parking is limited so most people typically have to pay to park ($20, no cash) at a neighboring facility (usually Rivian) in the industrial center and walk to the Sports Center. Then you pay an additional fee for anyone over 10 years to enter ($10, I believe) and get a wristband so you can exit/re-enter freely. There are somewhere around 40 courts, I believe, and they are all separated by nets. There are aisles carved out for foot traffic to navigate through all the courts but that also means, well, there's a lot of foot traffic. Plus, as you are walking, you must dodge incoming stray volleyballs, and an infinite amount of cameras mounted on tripods by parents who are trying to capture their future professional volleyball superstars' best highlights. I will note that it always seems to be hot inside. I wish they could figure out the climate control. Plus it's soooooo constantly loud inside. You might want to bring ear plugs. I will also note that they offer a food cafe with plenty of good, and healthy, options. I feel like this is the best part of the facility. It's great when you are spending your entire day there and need snacks or meals for your family, or your athlete, in between your games. The enclosed seating area is always full so I prefer to take the food outside on the grass area and eat there. Plus kids can play catch or practice rallying out there while you eat. If you are adventurous, some folks even walk to nearby food options, including Starbucks. This place is kinda cool, I just wish they had one closer to home.
