SoCal Elite has it all. Whether you're looking for a rec league, a camp, weekly training or a club team, SoCal has got it covered. My son has been playing in SoCal since kinder and started with the parent coached rec league. That was was a great time coaching his teams for several years and seeing his growth as a player. So if you're looking for a great way to bond with your kid, SoCal has it. They also offer an academy in several convenient locations. My son has participated in that for several seasons and I saw his skills improve with SoCal's coaching. Now that he is 9, he's been playing in their club team for over a year. Each stage of development, SoCal has been there all the way. I couldn't recommend it more if you and your kid both love the sport of basketball. You won't regret it.

How would you rate the club? Moved here from TX and our son has played on many elite club teams. Not looking for NBA training, just a fun competitive program for seasoned players. If this is more of a "glorified" rec program we will be disappointed.

Do you have any basketball training new?

Hi! Our basketball training academy is reopening in July. Please keep an eye on our website socalelite.org for the latest updates.

There were times staff kept putting back toys so quickly and frequently I was getting annoyed (in my head) because I had to keep getting boats and fish back out for him in the water area. I love that they switch out the sensory items in the art room throughout the month so it's a different experience each visit. Their Wonder Lab area with painting was sooo fun! It's too bad it was only seasonal. My son loves all of it - harvesting fruits and veggies in the farm, pushing his own cart in Trader Joe's, cooking in the restaurant, etc. It is truly a great, fun space for kids. Once, the CEO played in the construction area with him for a few minutes - that impressed me. They also regularly have special event days with dance and music demonstrations, author read alouds, etc. Members Only hour is the best time to visit (they open an hour early). Once 10:00 hits, the floodgates open and it's gets substantially more crowded. With all that said, we visited on a recent Sunday afternoon - never again! Every exhibit was in total disarray (every single toy on the floor and rarely even in the right zone), older kids zooming around on kid cars like scooters, a child climbing the fake fountain in the center and standing at the top (where were the parents?! No staff member present either...it was really dangerous). I've never seen Pretend City look like that before but if that's what it was like on my first visit it would scare me away! There's lots of parking but mostly in the back lot. The front lot gets full fast and many spots are reserved for other businesses. You can bring your own food/drinks to eat in their Cafe area or purchase some from vending machines. Wish they sold coffee... Again, amazing spot and 5/5 on weekday mornings. 1/5 on weekend afternoons.

The man at the front desk has a ton of attitude so beware.. only reason why I left 3 stars.. he was extremely rude to me for not understanding something with the pricing.. The vending machines are expensive but it's pretty cool that you can bring your lunch. Definitely worth checking out .

A Shot of Art is one of those places that looks incredibly fun and visually appealing on Instagram,…read morewhich is what initially drew us in. While it is definitely a unique and creative experience in person, I left feeling that it was quite overpriced for what you actually get. The concept is fun, and it's a cool way to try something different. However, the experience itself is very short. You choose a few colors, create your artwork, and before you know it, it's over. It's entertaining and makes for great photos, but I expected a little more considering the cost. My biggest disappointment came after the experience. Once you're finished, the staff takes the canvases to dry and prepare for pickup, so you don't see them again until you return to collect them. When we picked up our two pieces, we noticed small pieces of balloon stuck to the artwork. Unfortunately, when we carefully removed them, they left behind marks and imperfections on the finished pieces. Overall, I'm glad I tried it because it was a fun and unique experience, and I can see why it's popular on social media. That said, between the price point, the short duration, and the condition of our finished canvases, it's not something I would personally do again. Still, if you're looking for a creative outing and want to try something different at least once, it may be worth checking out.

We visited Kid Can Do expecting a fun, engaging indoor play space for young children, but it felt more like a restrictive, adult-supervised activity zone than a true play area. The biggest issue was the inconsistency and lack of freedom for the kids. Plenty of cupboards, covers, and storage areas were unlocked and easily accessible, so naturally the children explored them. As soon as they pulled out toys or art supplies, staff quickly took them away because they "weren't part of this week's theme." If you're going to leave things unlocked and within reach, kids are going to play with them, that's completely normal and developmentally appropriate. Instead, we spent most of our time picking up after our child and saying "no" or redirecting them. If that's the kind of experience you're looking for, this is the spot for you. If you want a place where children can actually play freely without constant intervention, look elsewhere. It also didn't feel developmentally suitable for the younger ages they advertise for. The setup created more frustration than fun, with limited open-ended play opportunities. On top of that, the cost felt excessive for what's offered. For the price, I expected more space, better variety, and far less policing of normal kid behavior. You could re-create what they offer for a fraction of what you are paying to go here for 90 minutes and have better peace of mind doing it in your own home. Save your time and money. Head to Play Pie or the New Children's Museum down in San Diego instead--both are much better options for actual play and exploration. Unfortunately, this was a waste of an afternoon for us.
