I'd say this shop caters most to women in their 30's and older. The quality of clothing was high, both in materials and craftsmanship. As a result, the prices of clothing here was also quite high. You get what you pay for, I suppose! The store itself is pretty and well laid-out. There's an open plan here and it's easy to walk about and explore the various clothing racks and displays. The dressing rooms in the back looked quite nice, too. The lady who works here was very pleasant and we chatted a bit. I was surprised that they didn't have any business cards when I asked for one, though (I keep business cards for future reference, and also to help me when I write my Yelp reviews!). For the most part, though, this was a nice store to explore, with higher-end women's ware. I would definitely check back here if I lived nearby to see when items went on sale.

I returned on 3/5/2026, less than 24 hours later, simply to switch the payment to a debit card. The biggest issue wasn't that they couldn't do it -- it was how dismissive and unprofessional the staff were. Three employees were standing together chatting and drinking coffee, and their attitude was essentially, "It's written on the machine, so too bad." There was no courtesy, no effort to help, just a very condescending tone. They also claimed that every store in Leavenworth charges a credit card fee, which was untrue. After visiting many restaurants, galleries, shops, and ice cream stores during my three day trip, this was the only place that did. This ended up being my worst customer service experience in Leavenworth, mainly because of how dismissive the staff were. I would not return.

After taking a hard look at the offerings and dwelling on a Seahawks hat, I decided to go with the Indiana Jones hat. The hat fit my head, nice because my head runs a bit on the large side, and had a large brim, which I find to be helpful for sun protection during geology fieldwork. The price was fair, and the workers helpful. At the time I was concerned the hat may be a bit on the thin side for my purposes. Nope. Almost five years later, the hat is still in great condition. I store it with my handmade Polish sheep/goat-herding hat. They have surprisingly similar structure and dimensions.

Well, that's the feeling I got when I visited Winthrop Mountain Sports during the recent Winthrop Quilt Roundup. I had never visited before, but it was a stop on the event passport so I popped in. Wow, what a GREAT place! First of all, they have way more than backpacking equipment. From stylish outdoorsy clothes to all sorts of hats, gloves, shoes, water bottles, and other must-have PNW-esque accessories, I could easily have outfitted myself for everything from a day hike up the Methow to an expedition down the PCT. They are also dog-friendly, allowing my friend's dog to wander the store with us (and even sneaking him a treat from behind the counter). Even if you're not outdoorsy, there's something you need in this shop. I ended up buying some road trip snacks for the journey home.
