Don't be deceived by the name! Swimming and pool stuff compromises at most 25% of the wares in this cute shop. At most! There is SO much more to this store than just swimming gear and pool accessories: -they've a decent Seahawks selection of goods, of all sorts, all devoted to the greatest football team on the planet (not that I'm biased, mind you!). -they've a ton of women's jewelry, in all price ranges, from kitschy to quite nice (I acknowledge the definition of kitsch is highly personal and subjective). -they've a large selection of household accessories and décor items, most of which were quite lovely. -they've an upstairs level devoted to garden accessories and outdoor patio furniture. I checked out their website and I see that they sell and service spas, pools, barbeques and stoves and fireplaces. I wasn't aware of this from wandering about their shop. I guess this place IS more of an "outdoor living" store (as it advertises to be on their business cards) than I had realized! After we met once at the property, located on a dirt road in a remote area, Patty took charge and handled everything necessary, repurposing just about everything in the house, from the old clothes and linens (to be resold or recycled) to the stored food in the cupboards (to feed her rescue animals), to the building materials in the attic and the automotive stuff stored in the garage (to be resold at A Cause for Paws). Patty also found a great junk hauling service and supervised the removal of everything that wasn't reusable. When the house was empty, she and her daughter swept and mopped the whole place and left it ready for sale. She kept me up to date on what was going on the whole time, and asked me whenever she came across something that might be important or meaningful, in case I wanted to save it. Her diligence and integrity are incomparable. I couldn't be happier with Patty, Patty's Animal Rescue, and A Cause for Paws!

Ideally, I'd rate this store a 3.5-4 star rating. It was two-levels, with the lions' share of…read moremerchandise on the ground floor. They sell a lot of art work, all mounted on the walls, and "unique clothing" (what their business card says). Taste is so subjective, so I'm sure there are lots of folks who would love the art here, but it wasn't my style at all. There were some nice clothing pieces interspersed with the eclectic clothing that was over-the-top out-there (for me, anyhow). There also was a lot of jewelry, most likely made by local artisans. The upstairs level is comprised of a small loft-like space. Here there were the sale items. There were some super nice zip-up jackets and hoodie sweaters on a rack for over 75% off! A steal, for sure. Limited sizes and colors, but if you can find the right size for you, it'd be difficult to pass up these deals. One thing I wasn't crazy about: before heading upstairs to look at the wares on sale up there, the store owner or clerk downstairs insists you leave all bags downstairs on the small table or sofa at the base of the staircase. There are signs posted that read the same thing, too, about this policy. I was uncomfortable leaving all my day's purchases downstairs, unattended. Sure, the store owner was watching them, but what if other customers came into the store and his attention moved to them, to assist other folks? I didn't like that. I understand this policy, if there had been a problem with shoplifting here, but I didn't appreciate being treated like a potential thief, nor did I like leaving my bags downstairs unattended. I did a super-fast walk-through of the upstairs area and then made a hasty retreat. Another issue I wasn't crazy about. On their business card, under the owner's name, it reads: Controller - a.k.a. "Control Her". What the heck does this mean? "Control her"? Perhaps it's meant as a tongue-in-cheek reference, somehow, about controlling women, but I took a bit of umbrage with it. She was having a great ole conversation with a gentlemen in there and just went off after she was done talking to him. It's unfortunate because they do have adorable clothes.
