Small roof top bar area with a good view. We had a few beers and specialty drinks. The drinks are pricey and the service was slow. Plus there is a mandatory 20% gratuity... seems common for the mandatory tip and slow service to go hand in hand. The view was worth the trip. It is nestled Uptown on 5th street and offers great views of the city. It isn't very large which gives it a more intimate feel and they host a wide variety of local DJs to play a variety of different genres. I don't stay out as late as I used to, but when I'm Uptown and looking for an upscale yet chill atmosphere Novelty House is a great choice. Somehow I completely missed this place in Charlotte. We went on a Sunday at 12 right when they opened for my mother in laws birthday. The bar is on the 5th floor. We got there at 12pm but the bouncer was late so we couldn't get in until 12:15ish. He checked our IDs and we went right up to the bar. The bar is covered in flower decor. It was beautiful even during the day. It certainly is aesthetically pleasing for photos. They have a menu to scan for drinks. The scan is hard to use and wouldn't read on my phone so I had to use my husbands. They had an assortment of cocktails. I got a gin, cranberry, rosemary based drink. It was delicious. Overall the space is a lot smaller than I expected but love the aesthetic. There was only 1 bartender who did a great job. I would enjoy going back to see this bar at night. You have it scab a QR code for the menu and it just didn't want to work. I just wanted a decent glass of wine and she was unable to assist. I didn't feel welcome. Novelty House is a rooftop bar here in the city of Charlotte, located in Uptown. What I like about Novelty House is that it feels a little less casual than the other rooftops in Uptown. There is a live DJ usually on evenings and you'll see people dancing here. The views are amazing. The drinks are okay. It does get pretty crowded here as rooftop space is not that big in my opinion. There is very limited parking anywhere in this area so do not recommend driving. Cool place to hang out, get some views of the city, and take some photos. read more

Stood at the bar for an hour and got looked at by the bartender serving our section three times in the face and he clearly deliberately ignored us to keep serving new parties on either sides of us and serving the same parties multiple times. Potentially unrelated or not we were the only white couple at the bar and every party of other color races were getting served. read more

This is places decorated really pretty. It has a vibe that feels welcoming to women. It's located in a building for each floor is a different business so if you wanted to go downstairs there is a sushi place and a cigar shop. It's a rooftop so it's always great to get a breeze and be able to sit on the couches and relax. It's nice and intimate. Awful service. Bartenders pick and choose who to serve and skip over customers that have been waiting longer than the people they decide to serve. As a fellow bartender myself I was so disappointed trying this place out and seeing how bad the service was. Tried to get a drink, waited 30+ minutes at the bar where I was front of the line and people behind me were getting served over me. The service was outstanding as soon as I stepped off the elevator a nice lady found me a comfy spot. Probably the most instagrammable rooftop in Charlotte! You go through a concierge-host that shows you where to take the elevator up, and then you are immediately greeted to the novelty behind the name. When I went everything was draped in pastel florals and flowers (I was wearing a periwinkle-colored sweater so I definitely fit in) and you can tell it was designed with "do it for the Gram in mind). They had a great DJ and it wasn't that crowded. It was a gorgeous, crisp Fall day, but warm enough you didn't even need a jacket. We only got drinks, which definitely could have been stronger (especially for the pricepoint) but for these places, sometimes it's more about the ambiance than the drink quality. In any case, our waitress was great; engaging, nice, accommodating, and made some solid drink suggestions. If you're looking for a nice rooftop experience where the drinks are as pretty as the decor, this is the spot! read more

There's an elevator that opens to the rooftop where you will be greeted with music at just the right levels and people dressed in the casual best. Nice rooftop bar located on the top floor of a building that houses a sushi restaurant (floors 1 and 2) and cigar lounge (floor 3). Although the flowers are fake (I call them allergens), I love the concept decor. Overall, it's a very unique and really cool spot. There is a DJ later in the evening. I had a great time celebrating a birthday with a few friends. It's a great place for a night cap and stogie. The rooftop was closed so we went to the cigar bar. Now, the NH has great bartenders, servers, staff, and music. However the ventilation in the lounge is freakin horrible! When we walked in, the lounge was full of smoke. OMG!!! I asked a staff member to open the patio door. It was a little chilly but...the smoke was so thick it was unbearable. Still go...the rooftop is the place to be for sure. Drinks were absolutely delicious!! My favorite was the purple sky which tasted like a purple lemonade. My wife and and I went to Novelty House and Havana Smoke and reserve over the weekend and it was amazing! The entire staff was excellent from the bartenders to the security team. We first checked out Havana and got their signature smoked old fashioned and it was really nice. The decor was very upscale. We went up to the roof top and it was amazing. We have not scene a rooftop in Charlotte that had this kind of of a vibe. The flowers set this place apart from all the others in Charlotte. We loved the music and again the service up there was also top notch. The views are fantastic. Def recommend these places for an after work drink or a date night. Take me up, up, up and to the rooftop with style! This is the perfect place to come and chill. The seating in the cigar lounge is awesome. They have tv's and a full bar with great bartenders. I hosted a networking event and Tori took great care of my party. Then when you go to the rooftop, omg the pics are to die for! Another bar is available but smoking is not. It's the perfect way to connect all the amenities. Be prepared to pay for parking and walk a bit. Those heels are cute going up, but you must come back down. read more
