I normally don't leave reviews, but after what I witnessed tonight, I felt like I had to say something. My husband and I were seated near a table that spent almost the entire evening talking down to one of the servers -- the taller guy with the tattoos down his left arm. From where we were sitting, he stayed calm, polite, and professional the whole time, even while being interrupted, snapped at, and spoken to disrespectfully over things that honestly weren't even his fault. At one point I genuinely felt embarrassed for the people at that table because of how rude and entitled they were acting in public. Meanwhile, this server kept handling everything with patience and a good attitude when most people probably would've walked away. I just wanted management to know that the server handled himself incredibly well last night, and as another customer in the room, I thought he deserved recognition instead of the treatment he got. read more

Tried this place out for brunch. I love that they have a covered patio so we were able to sit outside on a drizzly day. This place goes above and beyond to accommodate you. They had the option of blankets, a heater, any pretty much anything else you needed to make sure that you were comfortable. It's kind of small on the inside but the ambiance overtakes you. The walls are filled with liquor and wines. You can tell that the drinks were curated and not thrown together. It's an open kitchen concept where we could see our food being prepared. The smells in there will have you in a trance. The Wagyu Brunch Burger was phenomenal. I could taste that the sear and it was absolutely mouth watering. No other breakfast burger I've had is touching it. I could have eaten an entire plate of the fingerling potato hash. Some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Came here after getting a gift card for my birthday and had the most incredible brunch. Originally was going to get the French toast to start but they were out so we got the beignets and that was absolutely the better choice. My husband and I got the bacon egg and cheese and the fried chicken sandwich and split them in half - both incredible. We have a 9 month old and this was our first date without the baby, we sat at the bar which we love doing and haven't been able to do in a while. Our bartender was incredible - gave great suggestions. I highly recommend the espresso martini, it was soooooo good. I can't remember my husbands drink name but it was a tequila sour and he loved it! This is my favorite restaurant in Charlotte so far. The service is superb. The vibe of the restaurant is so cool and has an open kitchen with the open fire. Excellent brunch menu. I have been here twice. Once with a big group and once with another person. They have the best shrimp and grits in Charlotte. I can say that as I have tried the majority of them. The Crunkleton has been on my list of restaurants to visit for quite some time and finally got my friends together to go. It's beautifully decorated (I fell in love with the bathroom decor) and the bar area is lovely and we stocked. Our server Natasha O was exceptional. She explained items on the menu and even made a drink recommendation that was not listed. For appetizers we had the fig salad and the large portion was more than enough for 3 people with leftovers. We shared the charred oysters and I really with we had gotten a dozen because they were perfection! I had the Wagyu burger which was 1/2 pound and I brought half of it home. It was complimented with truffle shoestring fries. Great portion sizes, amazing service and beautiful decor. I will surely come back. Hope I get sat in Natasha's section again she was amazing! The atmosphere...10/10 Service...10/10 Food...5/10 I ordered the she crab soup and that was good but nothing to go back for. Went back to this place again for an anniversary and it was just as good as I remember. We got the wagyu steak for an appetizer and it was delicious. The chimichurri on top was delicious and tasted so fresh. We also split a Caesar salad with poached egg. The salad was tossed well in dressing, had real strips of bacon in it, and the flavor was very good. For dinner I got the chicken piccata which was delicious. Overall the food was great and so was the service. My only thought was that we put in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and although the server asked the restaurant did not celebrate that or offer anything extra for our celebration. Two of my group ordered the Pain Killer, one regular and one as a mocktail. The waitress brought them out and my friend tried hers (that was supposed to be the mocktail) before the waitress realized that she didn't know which was which. She debated about the color and then my other friend tried hers but it wasn't obvious to anyone, Thewaitress went back and asked the bartender - and then she went back and had them remade. ...and it turned out she'd switched them up. She was apologetic. Not a problem because my friend wasn't in recovery but it could've been a problem if someone was actually an alcoholic. This spot has been on our list for quite some time and today we finally made it! Even though stacked with reservations the waitstaff nicely fit us in at a nice outdoor table. The waitstaff were all very friendly and helpful! GET the Beignets! They are light fluffy and delish! We ate a few before dinner and finished them off as dessert after! The hubby ordered a burger and it was ok slightly undercooked from his request of medium to medium rare but overall not bad! The truffle aioli is yummy with their fries! So I haven't made a review in a while.. for most cases some restaurants aren't worth the review. I got invited to this brunch place on a whim with my family for my brother in laws birthday. I figured I'd give it a try, and in no way did this restaurant fail, they exceeded all expectations plus some, enough to bring me out of my slumber and give them a solid 5Star Review. From the start, the appetizer was a delicious Biscuits&Bacon with palmetto cheese and a little jam. From the salty bacon, to the sweet grape jam and the amazing cheese the combination was unlike anything you'll ever taste in a brunch spot here in charlotte. Now to the entree , I had the southern classic Biscuit sand Gravy which was amazing in itself. Two over easy eggs, with three biscuits (all biscuits are house made) and a couple slices of bacon. Easily a filler meal for a man my size. Now my sisters and mother had the Wagyu Burger which was probably one of the best burgers I've had in charlotte period. Buttery taste, moist, and cooked to perfection, truly excellent and extremely flavorful. And we ended off with there special beignets for my brother in laws candles to blow out which was absolutely amazing, melted right in your mouth and is perfectly sweet. The service in itself was stellar, Natasha who was our server at the time went above and beyond to assure our satisfaction for our first visit. Consistent refills not a drop missed, extremely attentive to our orders and choices, and answered every question asked pertaining to the menu. She packed our food up for us (not that we're lazy or anything she's just on her J.O.B.) and was very communicative during our entire services. The ambiance was dim lighting, on this Sunday in February it was dreary but the vibe was lively, restaurant was warm and cozy, drinks were flowing conversations were happy and loud. Big parties can sometimes mean slow drinks and missed details and little care, but our server was on it--cocktails, water refills, questions, all handled quickly and with a smile.
