It's a good restaurant. It's not my favorite, but if you want reliably good food this place will deliver. The menu is kinda boring to me, personally I like a menu with surprising flavors and creative ideas, but The Crunkleton is pretty standard food done well. Similar to Supperland to me - they're both good but they don't draw me back. The Wagyu Burger is over hyped and way too expensive. I'm not afraid to spend money on good dishes, but there's nothing special about this burger. We also got the Tuna Tartare, Charred Oysters, Caesar Salad with Blackened Shrimp, Filet & Frites, Crab Cake, Asparagus, and Mac & Cheese. All of it was good. But nothing wowed me. Tried this place out for brunch. I love that they have a covered patio so we were able to sit outside on a drizzly day. This place goes above and beyond to accommodate you. They had the option of blankets, a heater, any pretty much anything else you needed to make sure that you were comfortable. It's kind of small on the inside but the ambiance overtakes you. The walls are filled with liquor and wines. You can tell that the drinks were curated and not thrown together. It's an open kitchen concept where we could see our food being prepared. The smells in there will have you in a trance. The Wagyu Brunch Burger was phenomenal. I could taste that the sear and it was absolutely mouth watering. No other breakfast burger I've had is touching it. I could have eaten an entire plate of the fingerling potato hash. Some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had. Came here after getting a gift card for my birthday and had the most incredible brunch. Originally was going to get the French toast to start but they were out so we got the beignets and that was absolutely the better choice. My husband and I got the bacon egg and cheese and the fried chicken sandwich and split them in half - both incredible. We have a 9 month old and this was our first date without the baby, we sat at the bar which we love doing and haven't been able to do in a while. The Crunkleton has been on my list of restaurants to visit for quite some time and finally got my friends together to go. It's beautifully decorated (I fell in love with the bathroom decor) and the bar area is lovely and we stocked. Our server Natasha O was exceptional. She explained items on the menu and even made a drink recommendation that was not listed. For appetizers we had the fig salad and the large portion was more than enough for 3 people with leftovers. We shared the charred oysters and I really with we had gotten a dozen because they were perfection! I had the Wagyu burger which was 1/2 pound and I brought half of it home. It was complimented with truffle shoestring fries. Great portion sizes, amazing service and beautiful decor. I will surely come back. Hope I get sat in Natasha's section again she was amazing! The atmosphere...10/10 Service...10/10 Food...5/10 I ordered the she crab soup and that was good but nothing to go back for. The crab cakes...they looked beautiful but it tasted as if there was a ton of filler. I also got sick in the middle of the night after eating here. Went back to this place again for an anniversary and it was just as good as I remember. We got the wagyu steak for an appetizer and it was delicious. The chimichurri on top was delicious and tasted so fresh. We also split a Caesar salad with poached egg. The salad was tossed well in dressing, had real strips of bacon in it, and the flavor was very good. For dinner I got the chicken piccata which was delicious. Overall the food was great and so was the service. My only thought was that we put in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and although the server asked the restaurant did not celebrate that or offer anything extra for our celebration. The hubby ordered a burger and it was ok slightly undercooked from his request of medium to medium rare but overall not bad! The truffle aioli is yummy with their fries! I had a nice time here with my group of 5. It's known for its cocktails so I had to get one. I ordered the Dusty Cactus and it was good. Two of my group ordered the Pain Killer, one regular and one as a mocktail. The waitress brought them out and my friend tried hers (that was supposed to be the mocktail) before the waitress realized that she didn't know which was which. She debated about the color and then my other friend tried hers but it wasn't obvious to anyone, Thewaitress went back and asked the bartender - and then she went back and had them remade. ...and it turned out she'd switched them up. We ordered the sides that our server recommended and we really appreciated the veggies to balance out the meat and potatoes. We also got the egg rolls, tuna tartare to start with. I do not regret getting them but we only had so much stomach space. Drinks were great! I wish I had space to try more. We then finished our meal with an order of fresh beignets. Duck Flautas (4/5): Pretty basic. Essentially just shredded duck in a crispy corn tortilla. Crab Cakes (4/5): Substantial in size but only because there's SO much filler. I liked how the exterior was just a little crispy. Wasn't a huge fan of the citrus yuzu flavor. 7th Street Corn (2/5): Not for me. It wasn't very sweet and was way too tangy. Beignets (4/5): Flaky and soft in the middle. The cold brew icing was more like soup at the bottom of the bowl, but still dippable. My husband and I were seated near a table that spent almost the entire evening talking down to one of the servers -- the taller guy with the tattoos down his left arm. From where we were sitting, he stayed calm, polite, and professional the whole time, even while being interrupted, snapped at, and spoken to disrespectfully over things that honestly weren't even his fault. At one point I genuinely felt embarrassed for the people at that table because of how rude and entitled they were acting in public. So I haven't made a review in a while.. for most cases some restaurants aren't worth the review. I got invited to this brunch place on a whim with my family for my brother in laws birthday. Easily a filler meal for a man my size. Now my sisters and mother had the Wagyu Burger which was probably one of the best burgers I've had in charlotte period. Buttery taste, moist, and cooked to perfection, truly excellent and extremely flavorful. And we ended off with there special beignets for my brother in laws candles to blow out which was absolutely amazing, melted right in your mouth and is perfectly sweet. The service in itself was stellar, Natasha who was our server at the time went above and beyond to assure our satisfaction for our first visit. Consistent refills not a drop missed, extremely attentive to our orders and choices, and answered every question asked pertaining to the menu. She packed our food up for us (not that we're lazy or anything she's just on her J.O.B.) and was very communicative during our entire services. The ambiance was dim lighting, on this Sunday in February it was dreary but the vibe was lively, restaurant was warm and cozy, drinks were flowing conversations were happy and loud. I only stopped in to grab wings and have a drink while I wait. I ended up with tiny, meatless bones. So unlike their usual size. Flavor on dry rub was still on point, but the sauced wings were just that, a pile of sauce. I am very particular on size when I'm entertaining.
