My family went to The Cellar at Duckworth's for Mother's Day and we all absolutely loved the experience. The underground vibe is cool, the halibut I ordered was incredible, and the asparagus and scallops were the best I've ever had. Shelley, our waitress, took amazing care of us and made the whole evening even better. A must visit spot for any occasion.

My partner and I made reservations on New Year's Eve and we were very happy we choose this establishment. I recommend giving yourself at least an extra 10 minutes to park. We were able to find free parking about four blocks down, but that just meant we had to walk. There are parking garages around if you prefer to be closer. The restaurant is in the basement and has speakeasy vibes. Our waiter was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We wanted to order so many things but ultimately went with the scallops, risotto, grouper and Nutella cheesecake. The grouper was definitely the star of the show, I was dreaming about that pesto rice for days. The Nutella cheesecake was also lovely! The only complaint I have (which is very small) but I wouldn't recommend ordering a coffee. I normally get one after every large meal but the coffee was burnt and inedible. We will definitely be coming back to try more things on the menu!!

. After visiting for the first time for a friend's birthday, I knew I had to come back. On my first visit, I tried the lamb chops. Although they're known for their steaks, I decided to take a risk and I'm so glad I did. They were seasoned to perfection! I even let my friends try them, and they were wishing they had chosen the lamb instead. The second time I returned, my girlfriend and I were celebrating our two-year anniversary. We decided to share the Kansas City Strip, and it was more than filling for the two of us, especially with the sides. I loved having the opportunity to try different cuts. While the steak was flavorful and delicious, I must admit the lamb chops are still the best choice in my opinion. This place is perfect for a date night or a special celebration. It's dimly lit and very intimate don't let the sports bar above throw you off, as this space is the complete opposite. Before we left, our sweet server even surprised us with an anniversary dessert. The small touches really do go a long way. She also gave us a sneak peek into the original cellar, where they store an impressive beer collection. I thought it was fascinating to see that regular locals have their own lockers where they can keep games and snacks for whenever they stop by. Lastly I can't forget mentioning their vast drink selection. If you like bourbon, this is your place to be. I tried so many and there wasn't a single bad choice.

Our review The bar made us a OF French 75, and a classic old-fashioned. Excellent. Fast service and perfectly mixed drinks.

I've been to The Cellar multiple times over the years ...many times. I've NEVER had anything other than a STELLAR experience. The vibe of the place is historic and cool, the staff is always fantastic, the food is always incredible, the drinks are spot on. Tonight was no exception. Richard and Mark at the bar we're fantastic. Kept the evening light and lively while providing excellent cocktails and customer service. This might sound like a cop out, but we were so excited about the food. We forgot to take pictures. SORRY. We had the oysters, scallops, truffle Mac and cheese, charred corn risotto, tuna tartare Thanks guys.

I took my parents here when they were visiting from out of town and honestly didn't have a great experience. The food was fantastic but the service was poor. They have a ton of cocktails on the menu but nothing is brand name so it is very difficult to tell what the liquor will taste like. They said that they have 300 beers on tap and wine options but the server was no help trying to help pick options. We would tell her brand name things we liked and she didn't know what they have on the menu that would compare. I think the drinks are extremely overpriced at $17 and they don't even fill the cocktail glasses all the way like they should. It seems like they're making all the money on booze. Food was good but I likely won't be returning.

Setting is intimate and dark lighting. Service was 10/10 with an informative waiter, thanks Jovani! Food was delicious, ribeye and grouper special. Plates were wiped clean! Drinks are strong so beware but a bang for your buck literally lol

(Richard) such a ham, and Mark consummate professional both took such great care of us.. My 2 glasses of Merlot kept me happy, J had the last word and a corpse reviver. I peed a little over the chargrilled oysters and had a TBO over the Gyoza...We added jumbo shrimp and super scallops to the duck confit...Shaddup But that was before the Nutella whipped cheesecake, if ya need me, I'm in the corner shivering smokin a cig. Dark and prohibition vibes such a great ambiance... We will see you here in 5 mins....

The Cellar is such a fun little find. While the upstairs of Duckworth's is your standard pub, the downstairs has a low-lit and cozy speakeasy vibe. They offer a great list of craft drinks and beers. The bartenders are friendly, funny, and can definitely cook up a cocktail. Plus, they wear suspenders. I ordered the NY Gin Sour and my husband had a Smoked Old Fashioned. We sat at the bar for drinks, but would definitely try dinner here as well!

Was seated promptly and had our drink order taken right away. The service was good, the food was even better. It would be nice if it were a bit brighter as it's difficult to read the menu in such low light. The food was great and it didn't take too long to get once we ordered. The restroom was clean and the staff was friendly. I'd definitely come back again.

Been here numerous times and can't believe I haven't given a review until now. Never disappoints. Arrived early on a Saturday with a reservation and ended up at the bar. No complaints though. The bartenders took great care. Highly recommend the honeysuckle cocktail and the Paloma. Burger was perfectly prepared on a nice tray with fries. Get the Nutella cheeecake. So light and creamy and delicious. .

New favorite spot! Food was 10/10! We had the oysters and the truffle fries! Definitely a must try! I ordered the Bison and my husband had the ribeye. Best steaks we have ever had!! The mood and vibe are romantic and intimate. Our waiter was amazing and helped with drink choices and gave recommendations. He was on top of everything!!

I went here with my spouse on a trip to Charlotte. We didn't have a reservation on a thursday at 6, but we almost needed one! They were able to accommodate us, but the party of four who walked in ahead of us had to wait at the bar upstairs for about 15-20 minutes. The bar upstairs looked really nice though so not a bad place to wait. All this to say, get a reservation! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy and a great vibe! We started with the truffle fries which was HUGE and we couldn't even come close to finishing. I got the filet and my spouse got the short rib - both delicious! The drink were great too! When we come back to Charlotte we will absolutely return!

There really isn't a bad item on this menu. Tapas style dishes in a basement speakeasy setting. It's been there for 100 years. I stated off with short rib gyoza. Outstanding. Was a bit crispier than a typical gyoza but great. Moved on to tuna tartar which was exceptionally delicious with guacamole and chips in perfect proportion. Finished with scallops which were solid if not spectacular. Sunny my server was A+.

I really did not love my drink (starbreaker?) you could only taste the lychee The bartenders not a vibe, it was not that comfortable to sit at the bar. We had a reservation for Blue Door for Saturday night, and it was amazing. Now while she was vaguely aware of their "spirited kingdom" menu, I had NO CLUE. It was the best surprise! They have such a cool menu with a full theme park map containing 4 lands with 4 cocktails each. The cocktails all match the type of ride they are, it's honestly such a cool idea, and it was so well done. I loved the art. I will say, I was skeptical that all of their drinks would actually work and worried that they'd be too caught up in the theme to make results but . . . Oh my goodness I was so impressed by the drinks here. I think a lot of bars these days can get so caught up in trying to be unique that their drinks become nearly undrinkable. This place definitely doesn't suffer there. They brought us an aperitif when we came in, but unfortunately I have a blueberry allergy so we skipped that. We had 4 drinks between the 2 of us and they were all awesome. I ordered the star breaker and the green dragon (what can I say, I love gin and a good coaster), and they were both balanced and tasty. My friend got the diablo and the neon shift, and they were both fantastic as well! The neon shift was served with a black light too which was super cute. The one drink I have to call out specifically is the green dragon. There was something about this drink that was so unique, I have genuinely never had anything like it but I would order it a thousand times over. It's so good. It keeps me up at night. It haunts my every bar order. I will be writing home about it. What else can I say about this place - the service was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the DJ was amazing. I thought "wow this guy really likes sax covers" only to look over and see him PLAYING HIS SAXOPHONE LIVE?? Iconic. This place was perfect and I wouldn't change a thing about it. The spirited kingdom menu will only be around for 6 months according to the waitress, so definitely catch it while it's there! If I'd heard about it sooner, I would've maybe descended upon them with 200+ theme park engineers in town for the conference (maybe it's a good thing I didn't know they were there until after it was over), but instead I will just say DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND MAKE YOUR RESERVATION NOW

There's outdoor seating, and initially we wanted to sit outside but we didn't have reservations. Luckily, they seated us at a small corner section near the back of the bar. It's very cozy and intimate inside. Just my type of vibe. The service was top tier. They were unable to validate our parking because of some sort of discrepancy with the signage outside and lack of having the proper equipment for validation. To make up for it, they offered us complimentary champagne to start. We were not expecting that, and pleasantly surprised! Their menu has an eclectic selection of cocktails, both full and mini. We opted to order from the mini cocktail menu, and we each ordered two drinks. I had the Creepy cucumber cocktail and it was refreshingly sweet and probably my favorite drink of the night. I also ordered the Don't Shy Away which was a sour and spicy rum concoction with carrot in it. It was definitely spicy and had a puréed texture. I really enjoyed it. And, then don't get me started on the music!!! The dj was masterful. He played all the types of music I love and he mixed them in such a refreshing way. I ended up asking him for his contact information before leaving, and whether he does weddings because my fiancé and I are currently looking for a DJ. He was just that good. This would definitely be my spot if I lived here in Charlotte. It was the perfect way for us to end the night.

It's a small intimate setting and I do love the dark aesthetic they did. Gives it a swanky vibe and makes a great date spot. But they were burning incense in the tiny space and it was overwhelming. The other bar guests sitting next to us agreed. *They did finally pick up on it and the staff moved it toward the kitchen door* Staff was friendly as well, though, it was busy and looked as if they had a trainee in tow, so attention was lacking just a bit. So why we came: The drinks were average to me. One was weird (Pineapple Fried Rice) and I just couldn't get it sit well on my palate - and I tried - sip after sip. But the mixologist saw my struggle and swapped it out for a different one. I did like the Don't Shy Away - it was an interesting take on a margarita with a strong carrot base. The Whispering Dove was a take on a Paloma and I couldn't find the lemongrass infusion on my palate. So I found it pretty basic, but pricey. So overall, decent. And I might stop buy if I was stuck in the area again.

In hindsight, I should've went ahead and made the reservation, so I'll take responsibility, but was disappointing for the experience to be so different than we expected. We were able to sit outside and waited for about 40 mins to get our table. Service was very slow. It just felt like they were really understaffed. I wanted to love it! I'd go back during off hours and definitely make a reservation. The vibe was really cool, and the music was great. Parking is questionable, there's a gravel lot that is shared with the restaurant next door. We parked on the street, was unclear if they tow there or not.
