Genisio Bar & Grill didn't have many reviews, but the menu pics looked good, so we gave it a try. Glad we did! It's a nice little place, just a mile off the highway, so very convenient. It was busy over lunch! Obviously, it is "the place to be" for locals! Service was prompt and friendly. There are lots of choices on the menu, with sandwiches, salads and pizza/calzones. (No soups, which would be a nice addition to their menu.). They also have a kid's menu and dinner specials most evenings and the server said they get very busy at night. They also had a daily special, which was pot roast with carrots and potatoes today. The server described the tenderloins as hand pounded and breaded onsite. The corned beef for the Rueben is slo cooked fresh as well. So, my husband got the tenderloin and I got the Rueben. Both were generous in size and very good! I actually took half home as I was too full! Fries were crisp and hot. They have beer in bottles and cans, as well as soft drinks. The atmosphere was comfortable and it appeared to be very clean. We're glad we stopped and will keep this little place on our list of places as we travel! (PS--the menu had been updated from the original ones posted. I am posting updates.

The are known for their savory quiche and crepes as well as their delicious ice cream filled dessert crepes, ordering the Spinach Bisque is a MUST! While a cup may be fine for some, I always insist on a bowl of the creamy, buttery bisque. Recently for lunch, I chose their Wagyu Meatloaf Sandwich, paired with spicy ketchup, provolone and crispy onion strings on a grilled artisan white bun. The side of Mayo aoli is a great topping too! Sitting inside and watching the chefs prepare the crepes is a delight, but a beautiful afternoon calls for a relaxing meal on their ivy lined patio! It is so cute and gives such great small town peaceful vibes. Highly recommend; but you may need to call ahead for reservations.

The dining area is small, you likely cannot accommodate a larger group without a lengthy wait. We arrived around noon on a Sunday and waited about 15 minutes for a table. They provided a pager and indicated you could walk a 3-block radius, then recommended some shops nearby. When our pager went off we were promptly seated. Tables area is tight, there is not a lot of room to spread out. Our server came quickly and was friendly and accommodating. There are separate menus for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Options include crab cakes, Belgian waffles, paninis, pastas, and of course sweet or savory crepes. There are many options that are either gluten free or can be offered gluten free. The bread is homemade which always a bonus. We ordered a GF Turkey Melt, a Bacon & Cheddar Waffle, and Pesto Chicken Pasta. Everything came quickly and was delicious. We would all order what we had again, but with the expansive menu would be excited to try other options also. Many items on the menu can also be ordered in a smaller portion for a reduced price as well. I did this with my pasta, as I wanted to save room for a sweet crepe. For dessert, we ordered a Nutella Strawberry Crepe, a Black Forest (minus the cherry) Crepe, and the Hot Fudge Crepe (half portions). The Black Forest and hot fudge were filled with vanilla Hagan Dass ice cream. They were all so delicious and I recommend saving room to try one. They also offer their coffee beans to take home (and will grind them if desired) in half or full pound bags. The Praline Pecan is really lovely. Overall, if you are in the area, definitely give this place a try! It would be hard to be disappointed.

Had to phone bc they are not at all consistent with updating their website menu and they block you from their Facebook page if you dare to ask too many questions. Person on the phone let out several deep sighs when I asked about the summer menu and then said ignorantly, "hang on"! I didn't wait to "hang on", lost my appetite at that point and just hung up. This restaurant is ultimately managed by the onsite "Oak Run" property owner's association. This is a lake community with a golf course. Obviously much of the blame for the deterioration of this restaurant falls at the foot of the Board and Board Manager of "Oak Run". I can equate it to when one must blame the parents of an out of control child. This restaurant always had great potential. "Sometimes" you could get good, tasty food and friendly service. But most of that hope is now over. You really do go here at your own risk at this point, taking chances on digestible food and acceptable service. The "Oak Run" Board/Manager, Does.....Not....Care. In order to keep the restaurant running, they will just pass on more fees to the homeowners in that community, to keep it going. So it really doesn't matter to them if you show up or not.
