From the antipasti to the pastas, seafood, and more, every dish is deliberately delicious. My personal favorites are their signature toast (which combines sweet prawn with the savory umami of leeks and fatty pork) and their rigatoni (a pomodoro mixed with fresh amberjack). There wasn't a dish I didn't enjoy. The man (I'm assuming the owner) walks you through every part of the meal, offers his recommendations. He is flexible on some accommodations (especially with large groups) while remaining firm on the integrity of his menu. You can't go wrong here.

We love great food and great service and L'Ufficio accomplished that in an unpretentious way. Partners Fabrizio (front of the house who truly knows the menu and his wine) and Adriana (leading the kitchen) create the perfect evening. We began with Caponata. On this trip we actually would order this dish at most restaurants we visited and it was delightful to experience each restaurants take on Caponata. The flavors here were savory and sweet as the Caponata sat on a thin layer of a savory jam. Scrumptious! We then shared two pasta dishes that we had as separate courses. Each was pasta perfection! Paccheri Al Ragu (Paccheri with a fish ragu) and La "Cuncimata" which was a Sausage Ragout, wild Fennel on top of a bed of Ricotta Cheese. Not only fantastic, but beautifully presented. We then followed this with a stunning dish of red snapper between thinly sliced potatoes on the top and bottom sitting on a sauce of peas w/ cream. Could the meal get any better? We ended it with the "made in house" connolo. Fabrizio said confidently it would be the best we ever had ... and you know, he was correct. We had cannoli throughout our two week trip on the island and this had the most delicate crust with a filling that was not overly sweet, just perfect! In fact, we went back a second night to have it again!

We were there a long time ago (2019!), we had a delicious and quiet meal here, in the beating heart of beautiful Ortigia island. Service was fast and efficient, and the selection of Sicilian wines was awesome. I had the eggplant caponata which was wonderful. But, the menu here changes almost daily so I don't know if that'll be an option when you come here. Still, everything was tasty, well-seasoned, and flavorful. Prices were very reasonable and the ambience was delightful. I hope you come and try it out too!

We were started off with excellent bread, caper berries, fava beans and hard boiled eggs. The carafes of Nero d'Avola were solid and a great value. We shared a bunch of dishes in order to try as many things as possible. Sicilians have a way with eggplant and their eggplant parmesan was deeply flavored without being heavy. The caprese salad and caponata were excellent. The fried mushrooms weren't quite up the the level of the other appetizers. The pasta a la Norma was excellent. The spaghettini Siciliana was interesting and good. The spaghetti with garlic, oil and chili was OK. This was a nice way to immerse ourselves in the local vibe.
