After stopping elsewhere, I decided to try Nu Turf for the landscaping project I had in mind. With the assistance of their plantsman, Tafari, I was able to select plants that thrived in the amount of sunlight and shade that my garden provided, keeping in mind I had dogs and had to be careful of toxic flowers. While yes, they had a beautiful selection of flowers, my experience here was such a sour taste in the mouth. My fiancé and I came in looking for flowers to fill in some dead spots. I was looking for something low maintenance, mainly perennial flowers that will bloom again. I'm not too familiar with which were annuals and which would be perennial so I went to the front desk to ask for someone who could help. If you needed help any of the old staff members could answer any question, sadly they hired a bunch of ( I don't know ) girls... that probably know the words , I don't know ? Definitely like this place for the selection of nursery items compared to bigger competitors and other similar stores. They also have a reward program so be sure to sign up. I went to a larger competitor for convenience to buy sod, but in the end Nu Turf was less money and the quality of the product was so much better. The staff is also a lot friendlier and it does feel good to help out a small business. Had a mixed experience at this merchant. Had a simple question and went to the front desk; a lady was finishing paying her purchase and a couple of people in line. The clerk immediately brushed me off with a harsh tone to go to the back of the line. The folks in line tried to help but didn't know the place. I then went to the outside and started looking around. Found someone that was doing some stuff and he was kind enough to drop what he was doing and actually show me the location of what I was looking for. If it wasn't for the outside help, I would've left the place without a purchase. I was just looking for a rose bush. It's a nice place, but big and lots of selection. Love this place! Wow I am pleasantly surprised at how large this garden center is and fair the prices can be. I purchased a bunch of stuff healthy baby vegetables and house plants on my last trip. I had a hard time deciding which veggies to get but eventually settled on collard greens (2), green pepper (2), banana pepper, habanero pepper, and two different types of small tomatoes. I gave it a 4 star because of the prices, location, variety of plants and overall value. There customer service was non existent. read more

Unfortunately, I will be leaving a negative review for NuTurf Nursery that I have been going to since I moved to Boca Raton more than 10 years ago. it appears that the owner Bill has left and is not coming back and now this horrible person that I will call Mr. R for rotten is in charge. Arrogant, rude and careless, it left my car wide open: the top hatch and the bottom shelf both were wide open as I'm driving away with my car fully loaded with plants![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I spent over $300 and Mr. R for rotten didn't bother to close my car up. I did not see this because my car was loaded with plants.. very dangerous very careless on Mr. R for rotten 's part!!? Thank God, the red light was on my dash and I pulled over as soon as I could off of Federal North Ward bound , to discover that my car was wide open. I could've been badly hurt. My plants could've fallen out on the road so any car could've ran over them and crashed into me. Thank God that I immediately made sure my car was closed up, locked and secure, and continued on my journey a little shaken up, but none the worse for the terrible experience I had just had. I would not recommend going to this nursery business unless you want to be mistreated & have somebody be rude to you ?!! Mr R for rotten want s you to give him a good review on Facebook and not give you 10% discount when you're spending hundreds of dollars? I highly do NOT recommend using this Nursery if you need to buy plants go somewhere else where they are fair where they treat you with consideration, and they will make sure that when you leave their property, you are safely in your vehicle with the plants secured AND ALL THE DOORS SHUT. . The least you should expect from any business! Quite a shame as there are still some & used to be some lovely people there but circumstances change and we are in difficult times with ones that are evil and Wicked seeming to be taking over. I personally will not support any business that does not have good quality management who take great care of their customers and have integrity. I absolutely LOVE Nu Turf and each time I have gone I have spent a good amount of money on beautiful items such as vegetables, flowers and even fruits! Nu Turf is large. It has everything you can possibly want to landscape with to grow and even containers you can buy. Most of Nu Turf is outside, but where you go to pay, it is covered and is quite large. In the inside as well you can pick out sprinklers, seeds and even ask the staff some questions you may have. Everything is labeled and easy to read. You can even find yourself just strolling along, looking at each individual plant and reading about it with the description they have. My plants I have bought from them have yielded vegetables and fruit. Check out my banana pepper I grew from a plant I bought there! Seriously though, if you are in the area or are curious. We have been doing a lot of planting during the pandemic, specifically fruit tree planting, and we came across Nu Turf. Is hard to find these places fully open to the public. We came to but some fertilizer for out banana tree and walked around their lot. They have a ton of fruit trees, shrubs, ornamental trees. One thing I didn't like was the lack of labels on their fruit trees. The had the name "Mango" for example, But those in the know, know that there are hundreds of types of mango, so just having the label Mango doesn't really tell me anything. Is it a Picketing, Coconut mango, ect. Same with the avocado trees, and others. I would be hesitant to buy these trees from them if I don't know these things. Also, their grounds aren't that well taken care of. I haven't been to too many of these places to have a strong point of comparison, but it looked a bit unkempt to me. As a consumer, these things are important. I'm not going to buy trees or plants from you if some of them around your lot look dead or not properly taken care of. I understand the lot is big and there are a lot of plants, but still. Just my general observation. Still, I would still consider them. Prices seemed fair and they do carry a lot more than your Home Depot or Lowes. read more

We are spending a lot more time at home thanks to COVID-19, and gardening has become a great activity for me and my wife to stay busy, active, and safe. As we learn more about planting and the many type of soils, fertilizers, containers and plant varieties, you realize that you need more than is offered at Lowes and Home Depot. Searching for such a place in Broward we came across Nu Turf of Pompano Beach. The place is easy to find and has plenty of parking. Right now during the pandemic everyone is wearing mask and sanitizer was available for us to use on the way out. The staff was friendly and helpful. We found the fertilizer and containers we were looking for. The outdoor area is huge with a large selection of plants. The only negatives during this visit was that a part of the outdoor area was flooded due to rain and out of reach to customers: and that some of the fruit tree varieties where not clear on their labels. For example we saw some Mangos that read "Mango - Misc", perhaps they have more info if you inquire about it (the staff was friendly and helpful) but I rather be able to know by looking at the label. In the back it appears they sell sand & gravel by truck bed. That's good to know if you are doing landscaping in your house.; buy the stuff in bulk rather than by bag. Overall, this is a great place for your landscaping and gardening needs. We will be coming back for sure. read more

The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful with choices of plants, treatments for plants , & identifying weeds etc. We decided to buy a gardenia plant and we wandered through the aisles, but curious about price difference. Richard,a supervisor, stopped to help us and with his suggestion, we purchased a Miami Supreme variety. This was in May. The bush looks green, healthy and has provided beautiful blooms !! Used to love NuTurf until yesterday when I was confronted with an obnoxious woman behind the register demanding that I put a mask on. I told her a. the building is open on both sides so is basically outdoors and b. Our Governor lifted ALL state and local mandates earlier in the week. Lots of plants and trees. Unfortunately, after approaching two staff for assistant we decided to leave for a place that wants to sell their goods. First employee on a golf cart, question ; do you sell rocks like these? Employee response; yes, but. It those....just drives away. Couldn't even ask where are the ones that are for sale. Second employee, we are looking at these very large trees, can you tell us anything about this tree? Employee response: "does it have a tag? I said, most trees don't have tags. Employee, I don't know anything about these plants. Me: can you get some one who does? Employee: you can go ask at front counter. Mind you several 100 yards from trees. Me: See ya!!!! This is a place where you will receive old fashioned service. We were unsure of what we needed and Rich went through the center with his recommendations for our needs. The older looking shorter blonde women at the counter went to ring our cart full of plants up and I tried to see how much I was getting charged for each plant. After all we weren't greeted or spoken to. This worker had such a bad attitude. When I tried to inquire how much she got sassy even more acting like a total C_nt. So we said we have to go to the truck. And she replied I know your leaving. As of she knew and has done this many times. It was only a 300 dollar purchase.
