I had bought my boyfriend and I groupons for 20 U Botox. I called and made an appointment telling them I had groupons, which they scheduled. We went to the appointment and told the secretary we had groupons. Since it was a groupon appointment we expected to be incurred no fee aside from our groupon unless we requested additional services and agreed to pay. After the services we given we were given a bill for the full amount. The secretary told us "AFTER" the services that they would not accept the groupon. He advised us to ask Groupon for a refund, which groupon is refusing to refund. If we had known this we wouldn't have proceeded to get the botox here. I'm not familiar with a cosmetic business that doesn't confirm cost prior to procedure. Much to our chagrin we were charged $12 unit plus an administration fee, $19. To make matters worse the secretary wouldn't use our brilliant distinctions rewards that we recently received emails confirming. This botox experience cost roughly double to triple what we would expect as we paid groupon and the business much more than expected. We were completely blindsided by incompetent staff, hidden charges, and shady business practices. Would not recommend or return to this establishment. On top of this the doctor filled the syringe outside of the room and then came back. I personally think the botox is tainted or diluted with his own concoction. This is the only place that my bf gets a Lazy eye from, which makes me question the physicians ability to inject near the eye. read more

I needed to find a new place for my Botox because the PA I loved and used for years at my dermatologists office moved away. I live in Franklin and saw this office come up on the groupon so I figured I would at least try them since they were in Birmingham. This place is a total joke. The "doctor" is so over confident in his selling of himself it made me very suspect. And for good reason. He asked me how much Botox I was using at my dermatologist office and I responded 40. He said that was too much and I only needed 12.5 units!i And you that is mixed with saline so really what he was giving me was closer to 10-11 units for 100 bucks. That is the same price you would pay anywhere, so there is zero value in their groupon offer. He also said I could come back in a few weeks for a touch up as I stated I want NO movement in my forehead which was the area we both agreed needed it the most. Well after two weeks, still movement and still horizontal wrinkles. Never had that withy other girl w/in a weeks time. That's because she knew what she was doing. Also, you never see him mixing the Botox in front of you. He brings it into the room which in the 7 years of getting injections have never seen. Today, I went back for my "touch up" and he didn't like that I wrote my experience wasn't stellar on the groupon feedback and after he have me my touch up which now I believe was just saline and no Botox told me that I wasn't allowed back! Lol I was loyal to my PA for 7 years and might have been that loyal of a client with him but obviously can't accept any constructive criticism and if you do want to collaborate about the treatment you are deemed a problem! Good luck numalge, you will need it! Btw, make sure you check you point balance if you do have a brilliant distinctions account cause they never gave me credit for the first visit and never called and said they had a problem applying the points when I guess they did. I bought a groupon for one area of botox, the doctor would not use more than 12.5 units. The standard for the glabella according to Allergan the manufacturer of botox is 20 units per area, and more is typically used in the glabellar. I have used botox for 4 years and have used 22 - 25 units in this area. He would not even let me purchase additional units for $9 as stated on the Groupon deal, he said I didn't need them. I knew that the 12.5 wouldn't hold, he said come back if you are not satisfied, and it is not holding. At 2 months and 10 days I called to advise that my frown was back and active and he said "sorry, it is too late to do a touch up, all I can do is retreat the area at full price." The typical length of time for treatment is 3 months. I was three weeks short of the three months and it had worn completely off. I will never go back there or refer anyone there. So, I visited NuImage a few months ago after other dermatologists couldn't seem to get rid of my acne. I waited to post this review to see how the results were compared to my investment. I invested in a peel and about $300+ in products. I was at my "point of pain" with this problem. I was very unhappy with the way I looked and prepared to invest money to get rid of it. The doctor was straight forward, honest and no nonsense. Kaitlyn was friendly and knowledgeable. I am pleased to report that my skin is SOOOOO much better. I am 100% satisfied with the results. I plan to go back to address some other skin issues (dark spots etc...). I am entirely grateful for their help. read more

I have been a client now for about 4 years or so. Dr. Derderian is a vascular surgeon, not some doctor that took a weekend course on botox and fillers. (yes, they really do have those). He really enjoys his work and patients. Always makes me feel like an old friend coming to visit. No long waits to get in to see him, in fact sometimes I've just walked in and he saw me right then. No long waits in an exam room either. Dr. Derderian is very conservative in his opinions and use of botox and fillers. He won't do anything he feels in not necessary. I've had their instaglow several times, peel, microderm abrasion and laser genesis. Love those, great for the skin. I use the Zen Obagi products now that he sells. Courtney, the esthetician, is very knowledgeable about what each product does, what's right for my needs and explains how the layers of skin are repaired by vitamins and acids. I've done laser tightening on my jowles. It take a few months for the skin to tighten, but it does. I love their line of Jane Iridale cosmetics too. His office hosts beauty parties twice a year with reps from his various products and services. Very informative, beautiful spread of food and beverages, and chances to win prizes. I won Latisse two years ago. Big believer of that product now also. Best part, No Pressure to buy anything. Staff is professional and friendly. I am a loyal client now and would recommend them to anyone! read more

This place is a joke. Don't waste your time. The doctor doesn't oversee any of the hair removal treatments and is impossible to reach. I am unsatisfied with all services that I have received. Botox wore off quickly and hair all grew back after six sessions.They've constantly mixed up my charts and contradicted themselves as far as why my services had such poor results. Had a terrible experience more than once with staff and dr. He is always late for starters! The first time I went was bc I purchased a groupon. The dr told me I didn't need much and barely gave me anything even though I paid for 20 units prior. So I got ripped off!!!!! I have waited up to an hour the few times I have gone. The staff is rude. They have never asked me how I was. They have taken patrons that were behind me in line before me. ( Blatantly!!!!) They almost never answer their phone and never return phone calls. I have been going to NuImage for a couple of years now to get Tru-Scultp and facial treatments. I recently saw one of the friends that I referred to the spa for Botox. She was very apprehensive about getting the injection and didn't want a "frozen" look. I referred her here because it is not a spa where an esthetician gives the injections. Dr. Derderian, a DO, is the one who performs them. She was extremely pleased with her first experience and he did exactly what she wanted. NuImage is also one of the very few facilities in the state that has Tru-Sculpt available. Many people are familiar with Cool-Sculpt but not with Tru-Sculpt. I have tried Cool-Sculpt and not only is it more expensive, but it cannot come close to targeting the small, exercise resistant areas that Tru-Sculpt can. It also tightens and firms the skin, in addition to eliminating the fat tissue, which is not the case with Cool-Sculpt. It can be used anywhere from larger areas to very localized spots such as saggy knees, upper arms and even the face. It is unbelievably effective! The esthetician, Ramona, is wonderful at explaining the options for treatments as well as answering questions about the procedures and the Obagi product line that they carry. We recently discussed the spider vein on my leg and she explained how simple and inexpensive it was for the doctor to treat. He is a vascular surgeon that now specializes in removing spider and varicose veins. During my consultation, he was very clear about how some patients respond to the treatment faster than others. Also, being in the medical field myself, I did make sure to look around the room and noticed that they had the proper infection control and do take "universal precautions" which is standard among medical facilities. I must add one other comment. I usually do not respond to people who do not deserve a response, but I just saw the comments from the one Groupon customer. According to my business owner aquaintances who deal with Groupon, the biggest complaint that they have is many of these customers do not read the fine print (which is not that fine and Groupon even entitles a section on the page called "Fine Print" LOL!) and then complain to no end about why they are entitled to get what they think they should get that was NOT part of the deal. They have also said that so many customers are aware of the fine print but try to use the coupon anyway and then make a scene if they do not get the discount. I really wouldn't take this petulant rant seriously. NuImage is a professional business with a friendly, conscientious staff. They explain the procedures and the possible range of results very clearly and I will continue to refer my friends to this facility. read more

A vascular surgeon should not be doing the job of a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Found out that laser for melasma makes it worse. He did not listen or offer alternatives. I originally came to NuImage with a Groupon for a facial. Courtney was great, excellent facial, relaxing and very professional ambiance in the medspa. I have since returned a few times for the full price facials and wish I could go more often, just difficult to find the time in my schedule with two small kids. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! I went to NuImage to get my first ever Botox injection. The doctor told me to give it up to 2 months to see any results (which I know now that the doctor clearly mis-spoke, but this being my first time I took him at his word). I saw no results whatsoever, so called at the 2-month mark to make an appointment for a touch up. I explained why I was coming in to the secretary, who then made the appointment. Upon arriving, the doctor argued with me that I had waited too long to make a touch-up appointment and refused to do a touch-up. Literally argued with me until I shut it down by saying I wasn't going to argue about it anymore. Horrible customer service + zero results. read more

Twice I made an appointment. First time they wouldn't honor the Groupon, and although Groupon refunded most of the money (less 20%) I was dumb enough to try and make another appt. for today. While setting it up, the girl made sure to leave enough time so they could do a consult AND the 'Tu-Sculpt' procedure. Called me 3 hours before my appt. time to ask me to come in at a later time, when I questioned if they would still have enough time to do everything? then the guy said they didn't have me down for the tu-sculpt ! I told him to cancel the appointment altogether, I'll NEVER go back there! RUDE and insensitive to my time. All this after taking time off work! Augh. read more

On Sep 5 I bought a Groupon with Nuimage Medspa for six permanent hair removal sessions. I was given the appointment for the first session on 10/13 and that same day was scheduled the second one for 11/17. 1 day before the appointment they called me to postpone the appointment one month later because the machine broke down. Two days before the appointment they called to cancel again because the machine was still broken and said they were calling back when it were fixed, that never happened. I had to call back and I was given the appointment for February !!! 4 month after the first session when it is supposed that you have to repeat every 4 weeks for the treatment to work. During all that time they didn't get a replacement for the broken machine or offered an alternative treatment or something to compensate me. Finally I decided to talk to Groupon about what was going on and they refunded me 100% of my money so I could start my treatment over with a company that cares about their customers. read more

Wanted to wait to make sure if the hyper pigmentation improved. Last year I got laser treatment for dark areas on my nose and cheeks (melasma). Dr treated the areas and my upper lip. A week later, I noticed the upper lip was darker than before the treatment. It looks like I have a constant 5 o'clock shadow. Shared my concern with the doctor. He wanted to wait. Finally, after almost 2 months, he did another treatment on a very low level. This did nothing. Doctor refused to do anything. I have not gone back and have to use extra makeup to cover the shadow 3-4 times a day. This has completely changed my life. I have become so self conscious. Strangers stare at my upper lip. This is when I know I need to touch it up. My children are honest and tell me the shadow is obvious. Don't know how this place is booked up and there aren't more reviews. I will never recommend or go there again. read more
