Excellent experience working with Rafat! Not only was he responsive, reliable, and skilled but he treated me like a valued guest. He offered to start working on it right away. He gave me a ride home because the job was going to take a while. He also picked me up in my car when it was finished and it only took him a day to get it done. He offered me some free supplies too so I can detail my car on my own time. Basically he is everything you want in a mechanic. I came to him with one problem and he ended up working miracles that I didn't even know were possible. He fixed things I had learned to live with and now I remember how nice it was to have all the little parts working again. Rafat saved me at least $5,000 and did it in a crazy fast time line. He also does body work and has a collision center.

Great service! I needed new tires and they got them in fast. Will be doing business here again!

It absolutely baffles me that this place has such high ratings. I'm almost convinced that the majority of them have to be fake after my experience here. This shop should not even be in business. Like most shops that do bad work and scam their customers, they are counting on you to not have much knowledge about cars. Unfortunately for them, I do. It's a bit of long story, but trust me, you'll want to read it. I was having issues with the starter on my truck. I watched as the owner lifted my truck up on the lift and attempted to take out the starter WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. Ask any competent mechanic. That is something that you just do not do. I ended up calling several others around town. They all said the same thing: that it was unheard of. Entirely too risky even when there are no issues. So sure enough, he starts taking it off, has a bolt fully removed and suddenly a horribly loud, deafening grinding noise started coming out of the starter. Sparks flying and smoke coming from it. This went on for probably 10 full seconds before he could get the truck down from the lift to cut the engine. And before he could, the sound suddenly stopped. Once he turned off the engine, he finished taking the starter off completely. Of course it was chewed to shreds. But when I looked inside, and it had also completely ruined the flywheel. The teeth were ground down to nubs. It may not look like much, but it is a huge deal. With a ruined flywheel, the car is unable to start. Period. And it is WAY more expensive to get fixed than just a starter. Over $1000 fix. He absolutely refused to own up to what he had done and fix it. Said "it probably came in that way"... I may be a young female grad student, but what he wasn't expecting is that I actually know my shit about cars. I have worked on them since I was a kid. I had taken the starter off myself just 2 days before, and it just so happened that I had taken a picture of the flywheel. Clearly in perfect condition. Oh boy, he was notttt happy about that. He left the starter off of my truck, pushed it out of his garage by hand, and then demanded I get off his property. Which of course I was unable to do since the truck that I had drove in working was now completely broken. He kept asking me "are you a mechanic?" And of course I'm not, but clearly neither is he if I was able to take the starter off of my truck myself probably 5-6 times in the days before without breaking anything, whereas he couldn't even properly do it one time. Angry that I knew what he had done and called him out on it, he persistently berated me and tried to intimidate me. Calling me poor and cheap, said I was a "fucking bitch", asked me for my home address (which of course I refused to give him), and twice threatened to push my truck into the street with oncoming traffic as I was sitting in it. I had to pay $150 for a tow truck to bring me and my truck home. And did I mention that he had gotten me to come to his shop by telling me on the phone that he was going to "just listen to the sound the starter was making" and tell me how to fix it myself? Mhm. I have filed a complaint with the state and will be taking him to court to get money for the towing expenses and all damages. Long story short, do not let this man or anyone in this shop touch your car. The level of incompetency and unprofessionalism is astounding. And if you have any question about that, look at how he responds to the negative reviews. Just as I'm sure he'll respond to this one with an equal amount of lies and "charm." Save yourself the pain and money. Take your car to any other shop. I guarantee it'll be better than this dump.

I tried a couple of different cables that I had on hand and none of them worked. So I took it into the dealership and asked them to look into it. They came back with a recommendation to replace the entire radio for about $2500. I've always suspected these guys to be a little fishy with their service department, their quotes come in unusually high and always recommend extra work that isn't necessary. I purchased a $15 USB cable that was rated for charging as well as data transmission and what do you know, it started working! I would imagine a dealership has high-quality USB cables when testing their automobiles and this would be a standard part of the diagnostic procedure. Pretty shady and unethical treatment of customers

Instead of them owning up to it ,the dealership flat out said it's not their problem . I can drop my car off for maintenance work and get a ride to work and they pick me up. 2. The service writers are straight with me and don't try to pull any bs on me just because I'm a female. They also explain things well and are patient when I don't understand. I trust them 99%. I usually see Justin and he's great. Calls me back in an appropriate time frame and is always friendly (even though he doesn't smile much). 3. The sales team is also great. I worked with 2 guys, Kayvon and ___? I forget the other guys name. But really nice guy. All the salesmen are nice, the manager too. Again. They were straight with me and didn't pull any bs. Standard negotiation practices and I felt like I got a good deal. 4. The macho muscular manager fawned over my little 5lb puppy when I brought her with me to pick up my car. Requesting to hold her and take a picture. It was so cute. There's only 2 things I don't like. 1. When picking up your car from the service department it's always parked around the side and you gotta find it. When you first experience this the cashier doesn't even tell you where it is. She just hands you your keys and might say "have a nice day". This would be much improved if she would just say, "here are your keys and your car is parked along the side of the building. Just turn left out the door and you should find it." It took me a couple visits before I understood that this what what they always did. I'm used to it now and it doesn't bother me at all. The other thing I don't like is that their customer service rep always calls after my visit. I get that some people may like this. But I find it to be an annoying interruption and a waste of my time. She's just calling to make sure that if I fill out a survey that I'll give them a perfect score. It's idiotic that anything less than a perfect score is frowned upon (not everyone can or should be an A+ student). But that's an argument for a different day. All in all, I really like everyone I've interacted with at Deery Brothers. And over the last 5 years it's been a lot of people. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Except jerks. Jerks can take their attitude elsewhere.

You'd think an oil change these days wouldn't take that much shopping around, but from the deceiptful advertising starting at $20 to $60, then when I'd talk to a real person, which ended up me being taken hostage by the script of BS they'd read to you, and right before you fall asleep I wake up with a three digit quote. I had had it after Firestone had done that to me and it was 3 in the afternoon. I started my day doing only to find a place I could afford and trusted. My late mom's voice in my head, the whole time, repeating, take it to the dealership. So I did, thinking that they would be the most expensive of all. I WAS WRONG. I walked in, thinking the worst. In walks Blake. I told him all that I'd went through, and HE LISTENED. He took less than 5 minutes to quote me around $70 and asked me if I could come back at 3 that day. I'm sixty one, but I felt like 16 and wanted to jump, but didn't. LOL I would have broke a hip or something. Anywayz, I finally got my oil change, and all the extra stuff that they do and the invoice at the bottom was $69.75! It took less than an hour and a half and I was out the door. I will be back and if you think that just because it's the dealership, they hike the prices like I did, think again. This family owned franchise is Iowa nice.
