I have been using NuMotion to service my Permobile wheelchair for at least 5 years. They have gone through a lot of personnel, from managers to tecks. I've had great home service (I live in Auburn) with tecs that go out of their ways to help. And then Covid hit. Along with the rest of the country they lost employees and shipment was delayed. Friday, my legs stopped working. I knew that I needed a motor (actuator). I talked with the front desk at 8:30 am. She said that Andrea would call back when done with meeting. No getting a call by 10:30 I called back. She told me the meeting was still going on. I asked for someone not in the meeting and got Debra. Told her that I couldn't go thru the weekend with my non-functioning chair, could I just come down and get it worked. She said that there were two tecks on, Darrel and John. So I headed down and arrived at 11:55, knowing they closed at 1 for lunch. All the lights were off and no one appeared to be there. Well, the front door wasn't locked so we went in & hung out until 12:40 when Darrel showed up and asked how we got in & why were we there. I explained and he said he didn't work on chairs, just assembled the new ones. He took a look at the motor and went to see if maybe they had a used one like it. Luckily, they did and after scooting onto another w/c he had it working by 1:30, and we were out the door. No one else showed up, but we could hear voices in the back rooms. No paperwork needed! I would give Numotion a negative star rating. Numotion does not follow their warranty agreement. They want to charge you and your insurance company for warranty repairs. I bought a $25000 electric wheelchair from Numotiom 6 months ago. After 2 months the wheels started to make noise. Numotion serve man came to our house, did not sit in the chair, rolled it back and forth a total of 6 feet and said the wheel bearings were bad. He stated to both my wife and myself that the problem was a cup inside the bearing. This wheel chair has never been outside in bad weather, but Numotion claims it's rust causing the problem. I would not recommend doing this wheelchair company. I've had four repairs and the soonest it takes. It's 6 months year and a half and 6 months 6 months. They are terrible. I would never go there. I would go to national CD mobility in Sacramento. So much better there for 3 years and had 50 repairs or more. Numotion is garbage read more

We were referred by our doctor to get a gait trainer for our daughter, one of their representatives (Andrea Darrow) (who btw needs to be trained in basic customer service) kept going back and forth over several weeks with us telling us our insurance didn't cover the gait trainer. Apparently they weren't competent enough to contact the insurance company themselves and find out. They made us contact insurance ourselves and prove coverage. Finally, we were able to confirm that our insurance does provide coverage, and we also offered to pay out of pocket any difference if needed, we just needed the gait trainer to help our daughter learn how to walk yet! Still, after going back and forth, they came back and said they are refusing provide service to us, even after we confirmed our insurance will cover it. When I ask what was the reason since we were referred by our physician and our insurance covered it, they didn't respond and give any details as to why they are refusing to help us. Unbelievable, how do companies like this stay in business? No wonder they have such a bad reputation. My mom has a real hard time getting around because she is constantly ill, fragile and overweight. When it comes to maneuvering around the house, she puts in a lot of wear and tear on the wheels. I located NuMotion on Yelp with hopes that they would be able to repair my mom's wheel on her "Drive" transport chair. I just wish I had read the Yelp reviews first! When my dad and I arrived at their facility, the door was locked even though it was supposed to be open for business. Just as we were about to leave, a young lady opened the door and asked us if we had an appointment. Not realizing an appointment was necessary, I felt embarrassed that I hadn't done my research in advance. The employee, however let us in anyway as we explained that we needed service on a transport chair. We brought the chair in and she explained that it would take 24-48 hrs. to contact repair personnel who are not located on the premises. We were fine with that and happy to drop off the chair thinking we were leaving it in capable hands. She then filled out paperwork for my dad and tagged the chair. One of the perplexing questions was what my dad's birth date was. He questioned why they needed that personal information, and refused to give it out. She stated that it was part of their record keeping, but didn't press the issue. We departed to take care of errands which required a lot of driving. Of course a few hours later, someone from NuMotion called and left a message while we were on the road. I finally returned their call, and when someone answered, the first question she asked was what was my dad's birth date? I explained that they didn't have it and all I wanted to know was if the transport chair was fixable. I was informed that the "Drive" brand was discontinued and a replacement wheel was no longer possible. That's when she recommended that we contact the doctor to prescribe a new chair. And to please return before they close to pick it up. We finally returned on time to retrieve the chair. Leaving disappointed and somewhat stressed out that the long drive getting there and back was a waste of time. AND come to find out later, the "Drive" wheelchairs are still in business!!! FYI: you don't need a doctor to purchase a transport chair or give out your birth date!!! read more

Had my wheelchair serviced on May 18th. Was told I needed to have multiple components of my wheelchair replaced as it was worn and time for new arm rests, front wheels, chair pad, etc. was told they would call me in a few days. They never called to set up an appointment. I went on vacation and came back and still no call. Tried to reach out multiple times, left messages, etc. These people do not care about you and your wheelchair needs. These are our only means of moving throughout the world. Now my front wheel just broke off and I don't even know if I can use my chair!!!! I've been on hold waiting for someone to talk to for almost 10 minutes now and they're probably just going to transfer me around to different departments without even helping me like they always do. The only time I've ever had good customer service from them was when my wheelchair was damaged by an airline and the airline company was up their ass about getting the repair done. read more

I got a permobil M3 two years ago and it has NEVER worked properly. At times it wont go up or tilt I have called MULTIPLE times and they still haven't fixed it. Also their repair service leave a lot to be desired, always late or in the case of the one on Tuesday they simply never showed up (no phone call, text ,or email). Right now I have been on hold for 33 minutes waiting for them to schedule another visit. read more

When my scooter was delivered to my front door it was defective. I refused the item. Numotion took it back to their shop, ordered a main circuit box and redelivered a month later. Since then I have had 5 repairs 2 battery changes and blinking lights. I called Andrea and she has a smart mouth. She won't return any calls. I spoke with an Andrea in the repair department. This company will treat you like crap after you get your product. And if anything goes wrong no one will answer the phone or call you back. So I began calling their main number off their website, and all they tell me is a manager name Holt will call me back at the end of the day. I called pride mobility and they told me to call the person who sold it to me. One big headache. Everyone apologizes but does nothing. PLEASE, PLEASE BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS. read more

I'd give them no stars if I could. They pushed the scooter they wanted to set me up with and not the one I required. I feel they pulled a bait and switch scheme on me and even after they get their insurance payoff are still soaking me for more money. I recently made a payment on their website and less than a week later they thought they could make another autopayment without my consent. Since it's Saturday I have to wait until Monday to actually speak with a real person. In the meantime I'll be disputing the payment. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. Their drivers drive terribly got stuck behind one of their drivers in Auburn and he was going 15 miles under the speed limit with nobody in front. I get driving safely but driving too slow as unsafe as well. read more

I have been waiting for my cushion for 2 months and they have my money but basically stole from me cause I have no cushion, no call back and no refund. My next call is department of consumer affairs. NuMotion Sacramento is, without a doubt, THE worst 'service company' I have in my 64 years experienced. Three years dealing with NuMo has proven it. Everyone that I have spoken with who has disabilities such as mine has concurred. They actually make my cable service company look good. Ha. There is nobody at the front desk to answer calls, horrific/inacurate record keeping, poor communication between front desk and service department, no shows for home appointments, incomplete part orders, terrible attitude by everyone up front, etc.... I could go on and on. The actual service folks are great. Unfortunately the disconnect between front and back is a hindrance, making them all look bad. There is no other firm in Sacramento like NuMotion, otherwise they would surely fold. Competition is good. They could use some. I am Brian Kraft 916-712-3646 Read their Yelps.
