Khua Kling (chicken & rice dish)

Please don't equate the size of this establishment to the flavor of their food!! I had a lunch date with a friend who said she loves Thai food and has been wanting to try this restaurant. I've never had Thai and was very apprehensive but quickly agreed since she was enthusiastic about going. I only ordered the crab Rangoon, which is always my go to if it's available. Let me start by saying, I've had a lot of crab Rangoon in my lifetime and those were definitely in my top two. Wow! I liked them so much, I ordered more as my meal. My friend ordered the Khua Kling which is a chicken and rice dish. I'm not a fan of hot (spicy) food hence my apprehension for this eatery however, she wanted me to taste the chicken and it was quite delicious. As far as spiciness was concerned, she ordered it to be 3 on their scale of 1-5 with 5 being the spiciest. I had a small bite and the flavor profile was full and robust and I did not feel any heat, initially. After a few seconds, the heat worked its was onto my palette but it was not too much. Granted, others who are used to and/or love spicy food may think it's mild but for a novice like myself, I felt it. Again, I want to emphasize, the flavor was very heavy bodied and I do look forward to visiting again and expanding my Thai food experiences. So if you're in the mood for freshly prepared Thai cuisine, Numprik Thai Lao is a sure bet.

We were seated quickly and luckily got the last available table. The previous reviews were definitely accurate, it's easy to overlook from the outside and the restaurant itself is pretty small, but the food was absolutely worth it.

The food has always been amazing, but over the last year the service has got more and more pushy. We came at 12:40, the wait staff wanted us to order just as we sat down. Luckily we knew what we wanted. Drinks have no refills but we couldn't have water refills? Ok. Then shortly after we got our food, we got our check. It's 1:12 and 30 seconds after we got the check (literally) we were asked for payment and pushed for 20% tip. We used to come twice a week. We backed off to weekly. This happened similarly back in march so we took a break... this is the second time. We will not be back. For a $50 lunch, we should at least have a water refill and not be shoved out the door worse than McDonald's.

I absolutely loved this gem of a restaurant. I have been on the hunt for the best drunken noodles, and this place climbed to my number 1 spot. We also had the chicken wings as an appetizer. The crispiness, seasoning, and spice were perfection. The man waiting on people was friendly and fun. I can't wait to go back to explore the menu more.

Food was really good. Very tasty and flavorful and will definitely be back here. Ordered spice levels around 2/3 and that was just right for me. Would definitely recommend checking this restaurant out for some really good comfort food.

Came here for dinner on my down to the airport. Nice little stop. There is a small parking lot outside. Quaint little restaurant. The workers were all friendly and attentive. We all ordered a cup of tea. The tea glasses were much bigger than we expect. Very relaxing. The menu has many typical Thai dishes. We ordered a couple appetizers which were yummy. I ordered a basil dish for my entree. The ingredients felt fresh but I wish there was a little more basil flavor. The portions were an okay size, I wish they were bigger for the price. Overall we had a lovely dining experience.

The place looks very clean. The bathroom is a little outdated but well maintained and clean. The staff was clean and friendly. If you like Spicy foods the heat levels on some of the meals go from 5 to 25. I ordered the orange chicken at a level 3 because I've become a sissy with the spice levels. It was tasty. The color threw me off at first because it didn't match the normal orange chicken I've had else where's, but it tasted very good. Wife had the Spicy Thai Noodles at a level 5 because she can handle the spicy stuff. She said she enjoyed it also. The restaurant is in a large white building that sits directly across the street from the City of Monroe building. Signage for the place is small and hard to see. I would recommend the place and will come back.

One of the best Thai places I have eaten. Small and quaint. Just recently remodeled. Has allot of "to go" business.

I have been here so many times in the past 3 years and they are consistently high quality & amazing, both Thai and sushi!! I keep it pretty basic with sushi always, tuna rolls and yellowtail rolls. Maybe a dragon roll if I'm feeling crazy. The rice here is seasoned and delicious. The fish is good quality and super fresh. The yellowtail is super buttery... gosh I love it. For the Thai dishes, I don't go that crazy either. One of my favorite things is the chicken & rice soup... it's really plain but it's just chicken, rice, garlic and ginger. Super comforting at all times. I only wish they offered a larger size :) Not my favorite pad see ew I've ever had, but it's ok. The tom kha is good. I have very few complaints with anything I've tried. Oddly, I've never gotten any of the udon dishes here even though it's their name. I should really get on that... I had some really phenomenal mango sticky rice here the other day, super fresh and delicious juicy mango, and a great quantity of sticky rice & sauce. I was like, licking the bottom of it so... I can't really endorse it more than that. Gem of West Chester!! Thanks for all of the great food!

They have a big menu but I wanted to try their Pad Thai with Chicken ($11.38). Beef or shrimp cost a little more. The place had one waitress and she was very efficient. There were only 8 others in the place so service was quick. Considering the amount of food I was served and the price, I would say it was a very good value. Limited beer and wine selection plus soft drinks. Free parking in the mall lot. I ordered a 4 out of 5 spiciness and it came out more like a 2 but that was their only fault. I will be going back to try some other dishes.

My colleague still found ways to complain, first about the iced tea (supposedly made with tap water) and then about the place not having desserts. They're not listed on the main menu. We later asked and the waitress confirmed they do not have desserts. The closest would be their bubble tea I suppose. I started my meal with a thai tea which was pretty sweet and served in a typical short mug. I ordeed the pad kra pow with beef, level 4 spice. My colleague ordered the pork veggies stir fry with snow pea and baby corn, level 3. When the food came out, my colleagues arrived within about 4 minutes of ordering, his tasted like a level 5 so he thought. Mine came out a couple minutes later and seemed like a level 1. Not sure why mine was so bland and his was so spicy. The beef on my pad kra pow is decent but bland and you don't get very much. Once done, you're left with a big bowl of soup broth basically and lots of bell peppers and onions. There are no diced thai peppers or sliced jalapeños in this dish when ordering level 4. Maybe microscopic red pepper flakes which did not make it spicy. Maybe should have ordered a 5. My colleague seemed to enjoy his dish though. I just wanted something sweet after dinner and this was maybe the first thai restaurant I've ever seen that doesn't offer dessert.
