Okay this is a seriously hidden gem. First, it is a small little out of the way place that you would never expect to have the quality of food or customer service that it does. Second, oh the food... as a foodie I have to say this was some of the yummiest food I have eaten in a long time. An amazing meal. I had the Thai Sausage fried rice, a wee bit sweet, but oh so good. I mean I could eat this every day and not tire of it. I also sampled the Pad See Ewe and the Drunken Noodles with Chicken those were also amazing. Third, I had a mango bubble tea that was fabulous, I mean it was the best bubble tea I can every remember having. How can you go wrong. I have no idea if they even have dessert, the food was so good I couldn't stop eating, I almost licked my plate. Okay I am not that guy, but I could have been, it was that good. This place surprised me for a fun little lunch spot, if you are anywhere near here, drive out of you way and come get a meal. I almost hate to say this as it will now have a waiting line out the door, but I can live with it as long as I know they will be around. Seriously, you haven't gotten in your vehicle yet and driven here for lunch or dinner... better get moving. They are closed on Monday's so don't show up then and blame me. I am so happy we found this restaurant! I have been looking for good Thai food for years. My usual place closed down years ago. This is located in the old Red Onion location. It's small and off the beaten path. We were seated right away. There are only a few booths/tables, so time your visit right. We started with the shrimp and cream cheese rolls. They were very good with a sweetness to them. My first meal at any Thai restaurant is Pad Thai. I got the chicken with a spice level of 2. I was pleasantly surprised. The flavor was great. I have found that some Thai restaurants use spice to cover up the lack of flavor. This pad Thai had a great flavor and the right amount of heat. I look forward to going again and trying additional items. read more

Delicious! The only word that can describe the food. Unfortunately, it's very easy to walk past this restaurant and dismiss it. It's a whole in the wall restaurant with the quintessential thai cuisines you'd see at any upscale restaurant. What left me coming back for more was the appetizer. The delicious savory pork on the stick and the pineapple fried rice are enough to write home about. The prices and portion sizes are huge for the offering. A hidden spot for good food. It's the best Asian in the Middletown and Monroe area. The price isn't bad either. If you go for lunch you get it pretty cheap. There's many options for vegetarians. I had the pad Thai with tofu. It's about $9 for the lunch portion. This comes with your choice of protein, including chicken or tofu. It comes with a spice level. The 5 is a medium, and the 10 is super fucking spicy. It also has sweet desserts. The mango sticky rice is the best and the most popular. It can be easy to miss. There isn't much of a sign. The flavors here are awesome but there were issues on this delivery order, preventing 5 stars. $31.74 prior to tipping the driver for an order of 1 massaman curry and chicken egg rolls. Chicken is the base meat in the curry but I paid the extra $3 to add shrimp. The food arrived 40min after the anticipated time (8:05 vs. 7:25pm) due to "delays at the restaurant" according to the app. I could have gotten over soggy, cold egg rolls but then I looked for my $3 shrimp. And kept looking. After digging, I found only 3 small shrimp. I know prices are going up but $1 per tiny shrimp is not right. read more

A very non-descript buidling and signage Thai restaurant with a little gem inside. Outstanding food, service, and pleasant and attentive team. First time visitors and the menu is expansive but the server took th etime to ask what we liked, made suggestions and offered his personal suggestions on what protein and veggies to add. It was amazing with no leftovers to take home. Highly recommend. We will ho again. Server also suggested keeping your receipts so you can change up what you order each time. read more

Finding good Thai in CVG is not easy. Passable, yes. But worth a journey? Not too many places. Numprik Thai Lao is indeed worth the journey. I've been there twice now, both for lunch on a Sunday. Mixed crowd of churchin' folk, local folk, and tourists from well heeled suburbs. And there were more than a few Uber Eats drivers picking up. Oh, and me. There aren't many tables; the can seat about 20-22 at a time, and 8-10 at the bar in the cozy yet warm and clean space. Think of this as a 4.5, because really? Insanely good Northern Thai in what's left of downtown Monroe, Ohio? Yup. Not too far from the cool drag/karaoke gay bar also in this anomalous location...go figure. A mix of Laotian and Northern Thai specialties, with a broad (but not large) range of curries, noodles, fried rice, salads, etc. I will say the menu is well curated. And you don't have to plan ahead or beg for sticky rice! I will be back again and again. I've had or tasted the following: Spring Roll (vegan): perfectly fried, not oily, good balance of veggies and noodles Shrimp Cake: again, perfectly fried and great texture, not fishy at all. Could eat those all day Steamed pork and steamed veggie pot stickers: both well balanced with delicate dough, perfect temp. Melt in your mouth good. Pad see ew: This is my baseline dish for US Thai restaurants, and their version was perfect balance of salt-heat-sweet-noodle-cruncy. I hope my photo does it justice. Nam prik ong: Got it on a whim, and sooo glad I did. Ground pork marinated in tangy yum; wrap it in a lettuce leaf, sticky rice as a chaser, and wow! This was the best "I don't know what I'm getting but I'll give it a go" menu selection I've made in a long time. Again, melt in your mouth good. Larb Chicken (and yes, they have larb fish!!) was seasoned to perfection without the "sweet" overtones one can find. Loved it, and my dining companion who is a Thai and Larb expert gave it two thumbs up. read more

Authentic as it comes. Hard to find Thai/Lao food around the area. My go to for my favorites, Tom ka, papaya salad, larb gai, curry and sticky rice. Love how they prepare the crab ragoons, same way it's done in St. Louis, MO. Service is great and got many recommendations I'll try in the future. read more

I decided to dine in at Numprik for the first time and glad I did. The seating is very comfortable here and the ambience is quite nice We were promptly greeted by our server for drink orders. I had the Thai Iced Coffee and my son had the Mango Bubble Tea, both were very good. We had the Son-in-Law eggs for an appetizer and they were really good. It was my first time to have this dish, hard boiled eggs, fried, and then topped with sweet, sour, and hot sauces. For our main dish, I had the Moo Tod (marinated and fried pork) and he had the sweet and sour seafood. The Moo Tod was delicious, excellent flavors. He said his sweet and sour seafood was good as well. Spicy range is 0 - 5 and 3 is very tolerable if you like spicy. I probably could have gone up to a 4 even, but started in the middle. Doesn't look like much, and you would probably pass it up if you didn't look close. I love this place! Sitting inside, I felt like I was sitting in a cave like room. It was darker, and the booth was up on a small platform. The service was top-notch for my visit. The spice level seems to be high, so go a level lower than what you usually prefer.I noticed they do a lot of carry out as well. Check this place out, I know you will love it! read more

This is the best Thai restaurant in the Cincinnati area, hands down. Definitely worth the drive to see for yourself! The staff makes you feel welcome, and are very friendly to both new and recurring customers. Everything is served very quickly, and the quality never dips when they're busy, which they often are now. The Pad See Ewe, Thai Spicy, and Kimchi Fried Rice dishes are among my favorites. Try the appetizer sampler to get a taste of all the best apps they have to offer. Amazing source for authentic Thai cuisine. A Thai friend suggested this place for serving the food she was familiar with back home--most of these dishes are found under the Specials header. They also have the dishes most Americans are familiar with, like pad Thai and curries. My spice level here is about a 3-which is above average spiciness, I'd say, but enough to please the spice lover with whom I shared my meal. The spice level goes up to 25, with their Fire Breathing Dragon +++! My friends ordered FBD+ (level 10), which made both cry at the table, but they enjoy the bragging rights. I've only had takeout, but the interior seems inviting as well. Here's the breakdown on what we've tried: Nam prik ong: Ground chicken in a spicy and mildly sweet tomato sauce. I used the lettuce leaves to scoop it up, in lieu of eating it with rice. Highly recommended. Khua kling: Another ground chicken dish that tastes completely different than the one above. It tastes very herbal, with the lemon grass and kaffir lime leaves. The sticky rice is wonderful, but I liked eating it plain or with the lettuce leaves served with the nam prik ong. Also highly recommended. Moo tod: This seems like a delicious Thai street food. Lean pork is fried till it's a jerky-like texture, and coated with some sesame seeds and a barely detectable sweet flavor. It's dry, but comes with a very nice spicy dipping sauce. A must order. Kaeng hang le: This is a more saucy dish than the others, which is perfect with rice. Juicy noodle with fish balls: I found this to be too sweet, but I loved the texture of the fish balls and the vegetables in it. I'm looking forward to trying the other noodle dishes. Pad thai: I haven't tried this yet, but my friend said it was different than the typical pad Thai. I am intrigued! read more

Authentic Thai food! This is some of the best Thai food I've ever had and I've had quite a bit. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and Red Curry Fried Rice both gluten free. The flavors were absolutely perfect. They restated that my dishes were GF as they served them, so I was confident I was getting exactly what I ordered. I did not get sick. Stopped for dinner on a drizzly Saturday night. We were traveling north on I-75 & were hungry for something besides fast food so just north of Cincy we found this place online. Reviews were great so after determining we could park our truck w/ long trailer nearby, went 3 miles out of the way to try it. They were busy & apparently do a brisk business in take out orders; a couple folks waiting to pickup. Several times the phones were ringing after we were seated. Nice menu selection so we ordered fried chicken potstickers to share as an appetizer. Those arrived just barely ahead of our food & only 4 came. Most places offer 6 tho that was disclosed on the menu. After some questions for our server I ordered Panang rather than the similar Red Curry, a favorite of mine & requested 2 peppers for heat stating medium hot. My partner ordered the Fried Rice, asking for 1 pepper. Wish we'd both known 5 peppers is the hottest rather than 4 but we were assured we could add more heat at the table, indicating a covered dish. I'll start by saying there was nothing bad about the food. It was served steaming from the kitchen. A runner first brought out an order of Red Curry which was tempting & I realized our server had perhaps gotten confused during our earlier discussion so she whisked it away. The fried rice arrived next & looked average. I was later told it was quite bland & he had to add soy sauce something he rarely does having eaten Thai food in Thailand as well as other locations. Shortly after the correct curry arrived & I dove in. The flavor was good but definitely mild so I reached for the hot red oil that's normally standard & saw that red pepper flakes was what they had. Those add a bite here & there whereas oil can be mixed throughout the dish. There were a few tiny stems of what should have been kefir leaves & the pieces a tender chicken were smaller. I did enjoy my oolong tea that came in a large cup & our server came by once to check on us. All in all it was a good solid choice. However this is very Americanized Thai food as I have had much better in California, Arkansas & even Tennessee. Wouldn't go out of my way again so if you live nearby, fine go dine there. Just note that this is a pale version of real Thai food. read more

My husband & I stumbled across this little place. The undesignated parking lot was full, so we thought it might be a hit. We weren't greeted upon walking in. After being sat, we didn't get menus or water until 10 mins after being seated. My husband was so excited to try the "thick" panang curry. He hates when the curry is too watery that it just runs off the chicken/ veggies. The server confirmed that the curry will be really thick. I ordered a basil chicken stir fry. When our food came (47mins later) she said "red curry" placed the bowl on the table and left. We clearly didn't order the red curry, but when she came back she said it wasn't red curry, she grabbed the menu, looked at the description & then took the red curry back to the kitchen. She then returned with the SAME bowl and said that this was the new panang curry! When my food arrived, she said I ordered basil fried drunken noodles.. uhh no. I clearly pointed to the menu when I placed my order. My food came back with raw veggies and undercooked chicken. So disappointed that we didn't have the experience that we were hopping for. read more
