The best Greek food! A must try! We came based on other reviews on our way into town for a trip to Mayo Clinic from out of state. The food was fast, fresh, incredibly flavorful and also looked fantastic!

Wow what a hidden gem in Rochester! We were visiting some friends and wanted a light meal afterwards and came across this place on Yelp. High ratings and lots of reviews, I can confirm that it lives up to it! The person at the front was so friendly and helpful, he explained all the popular dishes to us and what it all included. We weren't too hungry so we decided to split a starter and gyro meal with fries meal. They were so nice, since they knew we were sharing, they split our gyro pita in half and separated everything. So nice of them! The baba ghanoush was alright, not my favorite, not as much smoky eggplant flavor as I thought. I'll definitely recommend this place to our friends and family.

Nupa is considered one of best restaurants. It's a fast casual place that serves up fresh food. You need to know what you want to order because it can be busy. While the service was good, I wish the people at the counter were more helpful in guiding people on the choices. Loved how fast the food came out. The calamari was good but a tad fishy, the sauce could be improved to have more flavor. The pita is excellent. The tiramisu was great with the lady's fingers not too dry and the whip cream being dense. Next time I would get the platter with rice because the pita (while great) is difficult to eat.

We loved our dinner at Nupa and are looking forward to returning. The appetizer variety plate was so tasty. The pita was fresh, buttery, and soft. The steak kabob was cooked well with lean meat. It could have been seasoned more but it was still tasty. The salad was a lot more lettuce than typical Greek salads which can be heavy in tomatoes, cucumber and olives. Service was friendly and attentive. The interior was nice enough to sit in, simple furniture. Highly recommend.

When you look at this place from outside, you would see a Greek outlook but when you go inside, it's just very homely and a small space with a very active kitchen. The service was super fast and the food was pretty good for Rochester we ordered lamb and beef gyro and chicken kebab skewers both with salad and soup their house soup was amazing. It was lemony with the rice and lots of chicken and very flavorful and pretty sure there was lemongrass in. It was extra sauce and hot sauce. I mess up the order initially the chicken Shawarma, although the order love their service a good hangout place for a nice kebabs or Greek salad. I also updated their new menu, reflects their updated prices .

Now the food.The portions of the Gyro plate was not what I expected.I was given 5 shrimp and the Gyro meat was much less than what was on my wife's Gyro sandwich.As far as taste the gyro meat was good.Oh and the shrimp was nicely fried.Some of the lettuce in my Greek salad was wilted and old. They have a lemon,rice and chicken soup that was homemade and good. It was busy here when we ate around 7pm ish and again the ambiance was good! A nice summer feel of people hanging out!

Ordered Nupa for dinner one evening. We called to order and picked it up. I ordered the falafel pita with a side of salad and rice. This was my first time trying Mediterranean food and I was pleasantly surprised. The falafel was very good and though I took out the tomatoes everything else was great- especially the sauce. The salad was ok, I wasn't a fan of a lot of the veggie and the rice was also ok. I'd like to try the soup next time! But the pita was a huge hit.

I ordered online and then went to pick up my order. Nupa is staffed by wonderful people! The place is small. In terms of what it looks like, it could be the McDonald's of Greek food BUT the menu is filled with items made from fresh ingredients. The Calamari is lightly breaded and perfectly seasoned. We chose pita chips over pitas. For the additional side we chose hummus. The hummus was good but at the end of the huge meal, it was one of the things most leftover. The servings of each meal were incredibly generous. The Gyro was heaped with so much meat that I was so glad to have spent the $0.75 for extra tzaziki with the Gyro Platter. The Gyro comes with the option of adding a side with it for less than it would be if ordering a side separately, if you want grilled zucchini which had the BEST flavor! Also you could choose fries, rice, or a couple other options. The Gyro Platter comes with gyro meat and a second option. Then there are also 2 sides that you pick to go along with them. If you want additional gyro meat (OMG, most people won't be able to eat it in one sitting!) you can add it here for half the price of getting it just as a side I figured that we needed to try the Baklava. I got one piece for 2 people to share. Looking at the small piece, I probably would have ordered 2. But I am happy to have shared so I did not over-eat too much. After a few hours, the baklava insisted that I try it. The absolute GLORY that is GOOD baklava!!! It did not taste like sugary sweet corn syrup. It tasted like honey and nut and pastry... Everything the best baklava is! read more

Nice little greek spot. Convenient parking, not a ton of seating and it was busy during the lunch hour on Monday. Counter service, but quickly served as I ate in. The Lemon Chicken Soup was yummy, tart, but not a heavy base. Typical Greek salad was good. Gyro meat was good, not dry. Great value for the cost. Highly recommend! read more

We had a fabulous meal at Nupa's popular north store. The gyros sandwiches were massive, juicy and very tasty. The falafel appetizer was delicious and the tabouli salad was almost as good as Emily's Lebanese Deli's in Minneapolis --and that's saying a lot. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the menu was impressive. We'll be back. read more

Okay so this was soooooo good. The service was fast and the lady was so nice. She took my order over the phone and in person she made sure I had enough silverware and napkins. The food was great. The falafel was crispy and warm. The baklava was sweet and also crispy. The gyro pita was HUGE! Also delicious. We ordered from Nupa via a delivery app. We chose them for their cuisine and the posted delivery time. We ordered quite a sampling from their menu. Soup, appetizers, and two dinners to share. Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't communicating their delivery times well and the food was over an hour late from their projected time. I called and chatted with them and they advised they got really busy and that was that. Combination Platter (Hummus, Spicy Feta, Baba Ghanoush, Dolmades, Flafel, & Pita Bread). Avgolemono (Lemon chicken and rice soup). Kabob Chicken Plate (Served with Pita and your choice of two sides). Spanakopita Blueberry Cheese Cake and Tiramisu. When the food arrived it was steaming hot and yummy! The flavors were on point and everything was tasty. I would recommend eating in or picking up the food directly when your not in a hurry. read more

I got an opportunity to be in Rochester on business, and on trying to figure out what I wanted for lunch, I decided on a gyro sandwich. I googled it and came upon Nupa North on Civic Center Drive. So that's how I happened upon the most awesomest, deliciousest, and best gyro sandwich EVER!!! It was totally amazing! And the seasoned fries were twice as delicious!!!! Instant favorite. They just need to sell more to go items! Gyros were great, Greek salad is packed and good amount of dressing, hummus with spicy feta is my favorite (just needs a little more pita!), the falafel is good too. My mom loves the Mint split pea soup. Service is quick, easy to order and take to go or eat in/outside. Kids meals are packed which is an added bonus! read more

Nice size place with good lighting and ambiance during lunch time. It's more of quick grab to eat food place. Don't expect a sit down style server and restaurant type service. But overall you order food at the counter and you choose a seat. Service was good. Got our food under 15mins. Everything taste good. Nothing fancy but food was delicious. Falafel was great. I had the squid Greek salad. The crispy squid was fry to perfection on top of romaine lettuce- could be more presentable but can't complain about quick fast food service style. Enjoy the salad. Best thing was they had good sauces and not water down. Appreciate that very much. Enjoy it. Nice lunch place for a quick bite. Stopped in today at 11:00 AM, opening time, as I planned to shop next door at HYvee. I ordered 2 orders of their falafel (1 to go) and a gyros pita. Prices are very reasonable considering the portion sizes. The Falafel is extraordinary coupled with the sauce provided. I went to Nupa solely for the falafel, but everything else I've ordered has been equally delicious! The Gyros pita is a large portion of goodness along with the tzatziki. The cashier/ waitress and owners are very welcoming and ask if the food is to your liking. More like loving. Nupa is and has been a favorite of mine since my first visit. Sorry no photos because when the food is served and looks and smells this delicious, there's no time for photos. Clean restaurant, plenty of parking up front. read more

Stopped in for a quick meal. Service and price were great. This is a place to go for carry out. Dining in was not very conducive to us from Texas. The service and most of the food in our three-part order were very good. Some of the food was healthy and fresh but not as tasty as I've had in other Greek restaurants in other states or in my kitchen. The service was excellent, and the location appeared to be clean and orderly with multiple customers enjoying meals at tables inside. Here are the details. We had heard that Nupa was good and the people tended to mention the north location near or on Civic Center Drive. Since we lived nearer to the Civic Center Drive proximity, I don't know if proximity or preference were the reasons for the recommendation of that location. I ordered the food and accidentally chose the south location. The website was very easy to use, though I would have loved to see the photos alongside the menu items or a button to click to see a photo to be sure what we were getting. I ordered the lamb kabobs with taboule and another salad whose name I don't remember plus two orders of the hummus with spicy feta and pita chips. , The lamb kabobs were delicious, the pita chips (just a few) were delectable, both soft and slightly crisp on the outside so they held their shape and didn't get soggy but were moist, and the white sauce for the kabobs were also delicious. As included sides, the taboule was very fresh and well proportioned, but the seasoning was bland. I ate it because it was healthy and I was hungry, but at home I would have added more garlic and lemon. The other salad wasn't provided and we were given Greek salad instead. As with the taboule, the dressing for the Greek salad was bland, almost tasteless. Needed more lemon and garlic. The salads could have used a touch more salt, but I never zing a restaurant for food that's less salty because it's healthier. People can add their own salt. Because this was takeout, I might call again and ask if I can get just the kabobs, pita and white sauce without the salads and make my own salads as that's a specialty of mine. Many people my prefer a less lemony and garlicky Greek salad dressing, so don't let this deter you from trying it. Everything else on the plate was amazing. We also got the hummus and spicy feta appetizer, two orders. We gave one to a friend of ours who has discriminating taste, and she loved it. We shared the other one as we had shared the kabob order and I wanted to make sure we were full. We loved the entire dish. I had expected more hummus but that's due to my eating it with a spoon at home, and I make my own as well as sometimes buy it if the ingredients are natural and healthy. So, for me the large amount of pita chips were more than we had hummus for, but for many people it might be just right if they just dip a little. I thought the spicy fets was a different dip, but it's a blob on top of the hummus. Together, they are very good, and the pita chips are really delicious. I'm not a bread person at all, so the fact that I ate far more than I needed is a testament to how good they are. So, for the food, I'd recommend this place if you don't mind the salads being on the bland side. Everything looked very fresh and freshly made and nothing was excessively fatty or salty. It may be that you prefer a milder salad dressing or a different side. The service itself was very good. We ordered, got in the car, pulled up to the front, walked in, were handed the food, and walked out. Very fast and pleasant service. I didn't personally go in, but seeing from the outside, there were multiple parties eating at tables, about three employees in the visible kitchen and customer service area, and overall it looked like it was in tip-top shape. If I return and go in side, I will update if anything is different than stated. Overall, I'd recommend this restaurant for mostly tasty and healthier food than most fast food restaurants. It appears to be made fresh mostly from whole fresh foods. For those who don't want red meat, chicken is an option. For those who don't eat meat, hummus is available and feta is in the Greek salad and the spicy feta topping for the hummus. There may be other options. I don't know which dishes are completely vegan. Next time, I'll try the Civic Center/North location and compare. If it's the same, I'll consider ordering without the salads and make my own salads or without the dressing if available and make my own dressing. The kabobs, pita chips, white sauce and hummus topped with spicy feta were outstanding for fast food. In a costly sit down restaurant the kabobs might have been oversized, but we were very happy with the more manageable size we got and were happy with splitting that meal. Without the hummus the meal still would have been enough though we had been doing a lot of physical work, but with the hummus, it was more than enough and we could not finish all the food, despite splitting the encore. Definitely a solid eatery I'd try again. I would recommend that they make a "bold" option for dressings with more lemon and garlic. read more

I enjoyed my meal, but I am spoiled by having lived close to a great restaurant serving similar but more authentic food years ago. I think it's good but not great, and they can be more consistent in their servings and a bit more authentic. Perhaps offer the more authentic versions as well as variations on the same menu so people can make their choice. read more

By far my favorite restaurant in Rochester. My family loves going here at least once a month. The kids love the chicken pita and spanakopita.
