Even though I'm from out of town, I was treated like a returning customer which was really appreciated. I would definitely come back to Tyler on my next Columbus visit! After five or six visits, I really couldn't be happier with Nurtur in the Brewery District. While men's hair is generally pretty easy to cut (and mine's no different), I've had some bad experiences with the lower-end franchises butchering my 'do. The first time I tried Nurtur, I was happy with the male stylist (Sean), but when he left for another location, I switched to Emily and haven't looked back. One of the things I've never liked about getting a haircut is the small-talk -- if there's no real rapport, it just feels awkward. Fortunately, I always feel like I've got a great rapport with Emily, and she's probably someone I could be friends with outside the salon. More importantly, of course, is that she does a great job of styling my hair as I like it -- again, that's not particularly hard with my hair, but still, she's always been consistent. Beyond Emily herself, Nurtur has a great vibe to it, whether its from the friendly staff at the front desk, the comfortable sitting area, or the spaciousness of the salon area itself. I don't usually take the complimentary shoulder massage or the shampooing (I usually shower shortly before I go so that my hair is clean and wet already), and my only minor complaint is that the cost of a cut is the same whether you get the bells and whistles or not. But that is indeed a minor complaint. Frankly, I'm glad that I've found a great, consistent place, and an excellent stylist that I plan on frequenting for as long as I live in the area. read more

So, this place is amazing. Great staff and so friendly they always make me feel special. From the AMAZING aroma therapy massage to lying down to the best hair washing experience ever (with hand massage) to the wonderful stylist Kayti and her fantastic crew. Kayti is so talented and just a great person to enjoy. I have always worn my hair long and came in thinking I would take 6 inches or so off. She had a great vision. We cut enough hair to donate and she's now twice since given me the fiercest cut and I get sooooo many compliments. Really changed how I feel about myself in a positive way. Hannah does amazing brows and I am going back for makeup consultation. This location and team are the best. I love that I found my forever hair salon home. read more

My sister started going to this salon and I decided to get a cut and color during my visit. What a treat. The salon was huge, very clean, and had a huge variety of Aveda Products. Kayti did a wonderful job with my color touch up and also my haircut. The best part was the shampoo and conditioner part! Instead of sitting down during the shampoo, you are laying down and really relaxing. Also, as the conditioner sets in, you have a choice of a complimentary hand/arm massage or a mini facial. I opted for the mini facial - most of toner, cleanser, and then a warm towel wrap on my face. Then finished off with moisturizer. You certainly don't get this as a complimentary service in most salons. Wished we had this closer to home. read more

Oh, I loved my experience here, even though I always feel awkward being pampered. (I'm not used to nice things, y'all.) After a terrible haircut finally grew out enough to fix, I made an appointment. They paired me with Amy, who gave me a little massage, washed my hair (which made me nervous--wet cuts can be tricky for my hair, which is curly and shrinks up), and gave me a facial. I was also offered another type of massage but I demurred. So much pampering! And none of their products were overly scented, which I appreciated. I was also asked about allergies before she put anything on me, which has never happened before at a hair salon. She did a phenomenal job on my hair, as well. She immediately could see where the last stylist had totally butchered it. She tamed my mane and we discussed future plans for letting my hair grow out so I could finally get it shaped the way I wanted it rather than some weird mullet thing people keep giving me (why do people think my hair needs to be a mullet??? I have never asked for one and I legit look like 80s John Goodman with a mullet). The ladies working the front desk were also very friendly. I enjoyed my whole experience. And it wasn't much more expensive than going somewhere like Lucky 13, but I got a lot of value for what I spent. I am a fan. read more

Today, I switched hairstylists. We all know how that can go. Needless to say, this was the BEST experience I have ever had at a hair salon. I have really curly hair, and most people can't figure out how to cut it. Not only did Cole cut my hair perfectly but she styled it perfectly. I don't think I have ever - in my life - left a hair salon feeling so confident about my hair. The extra massage and comfy wash bins were just an added bonus. Loved it!! read more

Heather did a fantastic job! I get a pixie cut. Cut is everything. Pixies are hard to do. I told her exactly what I wanted. I showed her my trouble spots. Voila! Perfect! If you are a naturally curly hair girl.....DO NOT GO HERE!! I asked for a specific person that knows and specifically cuts curly hair. When I got there I was switched to another person and the original stylist that was supposed to cut my hair did the hair dye - which was also horrible. I asked for a lightening color to lift up my dark hair for the summer, what I got was almost jet black hair. The stylist that cut my hair put maybe, an ounce of product in my hair.....and if you know anyone with curly hair, you need A LOT more product than that. After it barely being treated with products she "diffused" it for about 5 minutes total. Imagine, natural curls and then add dye, no conditioner, no leave in gel/creams and then trying to style it. When she started to take my cape off I was so confused because I thought, she can't possibly be done yet. Nope, she was finished, and my hair looked like i had just stuck my finger in an electrical outlet. I was devastated, and paid for $240 for this "experience". Total waste of time and money. Find yourself an actual Deva trained curly hair stylist instead of booking here. Curly hair beware. read more

I always look forward to my appointments! I've had great experiences at Nurtur and always leave feeling relaxed. You can opt for complimentary shoulder and neck massage before your shampoo and then choose a mini facial or scalp massage. Instead of traditional shampoo chairs they have beds that you lay on. Absolutely horrid.. I wear my hair just above the chin and ask for the ends to be 'shaped' so my hair did not look like a pyramid. Elizabeth cut way up in my nape AND put layers in on ONE side. I made an appt with Jocelyn their 'fixer'...and it still looks horrid. I ask for money back and a manager with the worst perm I have ever seen said I cant get money back for a 'FREE" haircut. I was embarrassed all three times...Called over and over and was told a manager would call me and they NEVER did. I walked in to show her my hair. The manager with the horrid perm would NOT address my disgusting uneven haircut. She repeatedly ask me if I have a cowlick at my nape. NOPE I do NOT. That is where Elizabeth chopped a 2 inch wide chunk of hair to my skin and have a strand of hair there that of course does not lay. I have straight blonde sleek hair without texture or layers. I showed a pic of ME for reference. Now on one side is no layers and the other is a mess of chops and chunks cut. the worst cut I've ever had.
