It was set on a counter and I wasn't sure if it was for me or not being my first time in. The scalp massage was lovely. The cleansing gel made my scalp tingle and was really cooling. The time in a wash chair was really nice. They gave me a blanket and an eye mask. The music was good and they had a movie playing to watch. I got the blowout too so I didn't have to leave with wet hair in the cold. The blowout looked nice. Unfortunately, the scalp treatment didn't last more than a day and the blowout is nice but I am not that kind of person to keep a hairstyle looking nice for several days. I am not sure the point of a blowout bar personally and the price was expensive for the treatment not lasting more than 24 hours. When I walked in I was super surprised to be greeted by a virtual assistant through a monitor. It was something straight out of the Jetsons. After they asked me a few questions they happened to have an opening an hour later so I swiped that one up and came back after a bit. I was randomly assigned a hairstylist, Minnie, and it was like the stars in the universe aligned because we clicked right away. She asked me all about my hair and what I was looking for. I'm a wing it type of person but I did have some things in mind. I ended up getting a trim with some wisby longish bangs and she was able to keep my length which was awesome. At the end she mentioned the different products she used in my hair and sent me home with a "care card" with recommendations on when to return and who else to see if she wasn't in. I just happened to be scrolling through my Yelp app looking for salons nearby and Penzone jumped out at me because this location has been there forever. I've also had my hair cut at one of their other locations forever ago and when I looked at their availability, they had an appointment the very next day at 5pm. I didn't even care who the stylist was, I just needed it done. I arrived right on time, checked in, and grabbed a beverage while I waited. It wasn't long before I was greeted by my stylist, Sage. She was easy to talk to, listened to what I wanted, and gave good advice and direction when I was tempted to do something I wasn't planning on doing. I knew exactly what I wanted, as I was looking to get the same cut I did last summer. Your basic long bob, about collar bone length. We did the washing and cutting and drying and cutting again and I was out of there in about an hour and a half. I'm really pleased with it and enjoyed Sage's approach so I made an appointment to come back in a few months. The price point was cheaper than the place I used to go to and I was way more satisfied.

I asked her if I booked a full or partial and she said full. So I inquired about this full row of hair not being weaved - her response? "I can just charge you for a partial." Okay, I'm not concerned about prices but would just like what I asked for. She then rudely and unprofessionally told me that she was going to be cutting most of the back anyways and you won't be able to see that part of my hair AND if wanted those parts foiled that was a different service and would take her longer and finished off my telling me that if I was dissatisfied once she was done we would "go from there." My hair doesn't even touch my shoulders. I declined to let her cut it due to her vibe and that she couldn't handle a round brush to even give me a good blow out. She maybe said two things to me while I was there, not inviting or kind but had no problem chatting it up with coworkers. Clearly Lainey didn't want to be at work too late or find new clients with her attitude. I've had my hair this length for 3 years and have been getting fulls and partials the entire time and have never had someone completely not do underneath for a full - if it is truly a different service would have been happy to pay, but truly just felt like I was treated poorly and trying to get money out of me. Oh, and whoever runs the front desk could not have been less interested or concerned when I told her this was the worst experience I've had in a salon. Waste of my time and money.
