She outlined the procedure, the possible negative outcomes, and what to expect from the healing process. She also carefully answered all of my questions. The procedure itself was quick and easy, a reflection of Dr. Diao's skill and efficiency. During my mole removal, we discussed laser for pigment reduction, and I learned several things I didn't know about laser facial treatments. I had been going to non-medical clinics for laser for years, and I discovered that I can get a much more effective treatment at Pacific Derm, in just one visit, rather than the less effective lasers that I have been getting over multiple visits. I was really excited to learn that there are more efficient ways of treating my skin. I am looking forward to going back to Dr. Diao for a Fraxel treatment. Cost-wise, it's not cheap, but I think you get what you pay for here, and for me it's worth paying a bit more to ensure a smooth and successful outcome. I decided to go back for a "maintenance" session. Again, the receptionist insisted I spend more money on the "bundle deal", which is a once in a lifetime offer (*gasp*), instead of paying for a single session. The look on their face when I asked for just the single was as if I laced the most raunchiest fart. They continued to insist I get the bundle. Just be mindful. They want their money, and they want it now lol. They have no qualms about up-charging you for something they know you desperately need/want. It's actually a great business strategy, however, quite manipulative.

The clinic looked professional and the staff were friendly and pleasant. During my consultation with Ale, I clearly explained that my only concerns were a few very small threadlike capillaries on my nose and chin, and laser hair removal for my chin and upper lip. I specifically asked for the fastest and most effective treatment to remove the capillaries. I had also recently had facial treatments done in another country and my skin had no redness or discoloration, so I was not looking for general facial rejuvenation treatments. I was recommended BBL treatments and encouraged to prepay for a package to receive "promotional pricing." Because I was not knowledgeable about laser technologies at the time, I trusted the consultation advice and prepaid $1,896. ( I later found out that their "promotional pricing" are more expensive then other clinics regular prices). During the BBL treatment visits, several clinicians performing the treatments expressed surprise that BBL was being used for such small threadlike capillaries. They commented that this approach could take many sessions and may take a long time to work and I would have to pay for more sessions!. MOA staff also made similar remarks during conversations when I asked about the lack of results. These comments are what first made me question whether this was actually the most appropriate treatment for my concern. After completing the BBL sessions, the capillaries were still present and there was little visible improvement. I later went to another clinic recommended by a friend where the capillaries were treated using a Nd vascular laser in a procedure that took about five minutes and cost $100. The issue that had not been resolved with the previous treatments was corrected immediately. After realizing this, I contacted the clinic requesting a refund for the unused portion of my prepaid funds. I was initially told refunds were not possible and that the remaining money could only be used toward additional treatments. Why would I want to continue treatment at a place that I cannot trust? They said I could switch to the laser that worked! why would that not have been suggested at first? They were going to hold my money hostage. I then wrote a formal letter to the clinic owner requesting the return of my unused funds. When I did not receive a response, I followed up by phone and explained that I would be contacting Consumer Protection BC, my credit card provider, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia to review the situation. Only after that conversation did a supervisor Jessica agree to return the remaining $896 balance. In the end, I still paid $1,000 for treatments that did not resolve the capillaries, plus a few laser hair removal sessions. Total waste of money. My experience felt very sales-driven, not patient care driven. If they would have been honest with me to begin with I could have save 1000 dollars and I would have come back to them in the future. This place is very shady.

I had some issues the referring clinic because they took their sweet time sending the referral and ultimately it took me several phone calls to get it completed. But at this time I called Dr Kibblewhite's office to ask for my appointment date and I was told she will get back to me but know that it will be sometime in October. So I just forgot about it and figured my part was done. I had already jumped through hoops to get this appointment scheduled. I forget about it until late August and decide to call Dr Kibblewhite's office and check when exactly my appointment is as I never got an exact date confirmation. She tells me she never got the referral!!!!! She also slips in-- oh what is the appointment for? I tell her my issue and she says Dr Kibblewhite does not deal with that issue. I kinda ignore her at this point because it has already been 3 full months of waiting for my appointment and I'm determined to get in and ask my questions! So many phone calls and much stress later I am told that I will not be getting my appointment with Dr Kibblewhite because they only deal with a very specialised subject and not what I need to see the doctor for. I'm so glad that Dr Kibblewhite's office did not take the time to ask me what my issue was way back in early June so that I could waste 3 months of my life waiting on this appointment. Also she was rude (and I was extra nice because I wanted my appointment even though I wanted to scream). All the while I'm living with pain and pretty intense headaches related to my issue which I am now facing another 5 month wait (June to Oct is 5 mos) for another appointment. Thanks BC Health system. A complaint will be going to the BC College of physicians for both offices involved. Oh well. Save yourself and go to a nicer, more competent office.

I said, "Fine, then which number should I be calling then?" I kid you not, she replied, "Well, they are in a meeting, so just give me your number and I'll pass them the message." I am not exactly sure why she felt the need to make a big fuss about me calling the clinic and not the store, considering it's the same location. I am pretty sure if she can take my message, she could've given a more useful answer to my original question. And if there's really a distinction between the store and the clinic, I would also suggest that they update their Google business listing to make that distinction. This reminds me of why I never bothered coming back here after my experience 3 years ago. I bought a CE Ferulic from this store, and whatever bottle I got has clearly been sitting the shelf for a LONG time (considering the deep orange-y color thats different from any of the 30-40 bottles I've ever opened). I've used enough of Skinceutica's products to know what looks right and what doesn't. And for the sassy girl who answered the phone, im sorry that it's such an inconvenience for you to be paid to deal with customer inquiries.
