Located along Lee Highway about a half block from Shallowford, it's pretty easy to find. The parking lot is small and a bit tight, but there are a good number of spaces available. The handicapped space I saw was along the Lee Highway side of the parking lot, which happens to be near Nut'n But Guac. The restaurant is located on the corner of the shopping center just as you enter the parking lot. Walking in, the space is bright and open. There is a bar directly in front as well as seating along the windows. There is another seating area to the right with a comfy couch. Everything looks new and inviting. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the owner. He is friendly and eager to help you understand the menu and order exactly what you want. They also have wine available, so you can sit and enjoy a respite during a busy day. Since everything is made to order, it is a fresh as possible. The kitchen is to the left behind the wine display. Our order took less than 10 minutes to prepare, and we tried each item before we left just because it smelled so good. Both guacamoles are a wonderful mix of creamy and chunky, with bursting flavors and pleasing colors. It's an artisan dream. The Southside had decent spiciness which complimented the amazing medley of flavors. The spiciness level can be adjusted so you can get exactly what you want. The Chicago had a pleasing mix of flavors which were distinct from those of the Southside. I can easily say these guacamoles are the best I have ever tasted. Each has its place in the flavor palette and can be paired with various dishes or simply eaten alone. The salsa was a surprise. At first glance it appeared creamy, which was different from the expected chunky. The owner explained he can adjust the blending to everything from chunky to smooth. If you don't specify, you will get something closer to smooth, but again, since everything is made to order, you can get exactly what you want. The flavors in the salsa are blended yet distinct. The smoother blend flows over the taste buds like a river, allowing you to capture all the flavors. Again, I think this may be the best salsa I have ever had and is good enough to eat with a spoon. While this is a new business just getting started, their product is exceptional. they deserve a priority place in your list for favorite places to spend your dining dollars. read more

I wanted to love this place but my experience was absolutely awful. I can honestly say I've NEVER experienced customer service as bad as this. I was too excited for this horrible experience. Guacamole is one of my favorite foods ever, so when this place opened, I knew I had to try it. I went to Nut'n But Guac this past Wednesday because my dad had purchased a Local Flavor $30 certificate for me to use there. I decided to take my boyfriend on the one night he was visiting me. I checked the hours, as well as the facebook page for any updates, and saw that they were closing at 7:30 since it was a Wednesday. We drove 40 minutes and walked in at 6:08. We were greeted by a very kind lady who had a wine shop in the same building. My boyfriend said we were there for the guacamole, to which she replied (kindly) that he might be trying to close up early. She went to the back kitchen to get him. He came out, visibly irritated, and said nothing. I made a comment saying we didn't want to be a burden, and the lady assured us we were not, while D'Andray said nothing. He explained how he was trying to get home to his family early, which we understood and said we could come back another time. He reluctantly urged us to order anyway. When we grabbed a menu, he left to go back to the kitchen, but not before telling us how the other lady "was fine" because she got there at 5:55, but we got there later than 6 so he shouldn't even be letting us order. He brought the other customer her guac, then went back into the kitchen briefly. He came out, with his daughter on the phone saying "I'll be there as soon as I can. I have to get these people before I leave since they just came in," hung up, sighed, then prompted us to order. As we ordered, he told us all about how they usually have events Wednesday nights which is why they're open later, but the act cancelled last minute and he was going to leave early. He was obviously annoyed and upset, which was odd since he urged us to order after we offered to leave. I said that I saw online they closed at 7:30, and told my boyfriend there was no way we could've known their act cancelled last minute (especially since it wasn't posted on the facebook as the website suggested). He proceeded to tell us how wrong it was that we were getting guac "after closing" and how he is missing time with his family. I am not oblivious, I see D'Andray's family's story as soon as I visit the website, but I NEVER asked him to stay later than he wanted to. He offered. He prepared our food, brought it out, and rung us up. Our total was $31. I had my boyfriend show him our completely valid $30 coupon, purchased from a reputable source that HE partnered with, because I was afraid of how stupid and guilty he made me feel. My boyfriend showed him, he angrily laughed and said "you've gotta be kidding. story of my life." He rudely and demeaningly asked if either of us owned a business, to which we just shook our heads. I am a third year business student. He then mansplained that the coupon has given him a ton of business, especially when he first opened (yay!) but it made him lose money (obviously, this is common for any start-up. it's a risk you choose to take for long-term gain). He told us he cancelled that coupon (still available for purchase online at Local Flavor!) and he doesn't want people to use it anymore. Mine expired November 4, 2023 -- 4 months away). D'Andray told us this was the last time he'd ever take the coupon (terrible business, you can't ignore valid coupons you chose to offer) since he just wanted to leave. He talked MORE about how he just wanted to leave early and how much of a burden we were and how much he hates the coupon/his business decision. After the coupon, our total was $1. Seeing I was on the verge of tears at this point, my boyfriend offered up his card. HE mockingly LAUGHED AGAIN and said "it is $1. a card?" I shoved $5 at him, said keep the change, and walked away crying. He brought our food out, then asked us to leave a review, so you're welcome D'Andray. Your customer service is horrific. read more

D'Andray was so rude and made us feel like garbage. He laughed in our face and was demeaning. We love guac and wanted so bad for this to be a great experience. This man does not treat his customers well. My girlfriend and I had a valid coupon that was paid for in advance by LocalFlavor. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a nice lady who runs a wine business in the same building. We asked about the guac, and she said that D'Andray was planning on closing early today. Online, it said they close at 7:30. It was 6:08. He walked out of the kitchen upset and didn't say anything. He explained that he was planning on leaving early to be with his family BUT he reluctantly told us that we could order. He said that a performance cancelled last minute and so he was trying to leave early. He could have just told us no, but he let us order and told us all about how we were such a burden and were ruining his night. He went back into the kitchen, and as he walked out to take our order he was on the phone with his family (presumably to make us feel bad). After ordering, we showed him our coupon, and he said "Story of my life." Hr proceeded to tell us that our coupon has given him lots of business but has made him lose money (not my problem). He said that he tried to cancel the deal, but people continued to show up with the coupon. He asked for our names and said that we would be the last to get this deal. The total, after our $30 credit, was $1. I handed him my card, which he laughed at. "It's one dollar. You're going to pay with card?" he said mockingly. My girlfriend, now in tears, hands him a $5 bill and blurts out "just keep the change" because she didn't want to keep talking to him about how inconvenient we were. We sat down and he gave us water. I wiped the tears off my girlfriend's cheeks. He came out and gave us our guac, salsa, and chips. He insisted that we leave a review, so here we are. The food was good, however, the experience left such a bad taste in our mouths. We will not be returning. We were not welcomed, and we expected such a different experience. I understand if he would have said no, but he said yes...and then proceeded to complain about how he is getting too much publicity and losing money because of a poor business decision he made, how we were responsible for him not spending time with his family, how paying with card is laughable, and how much he did not want to serve us. Customer service should be the first priority when running a business. At Nut'n but Guac, the first priority is making the customer feel like they should never have walked in the door. read more
