So good and cute! Chicken spinach sandwich and the white chicken chili were both DELICIOUS! All the sandwiches and salads looked amazing. The cupcakes were amazing as well. We got the pumpkin and the snickerdoodle with cookie butter frosting. Both were so fresh and good. Staff was very nice and the ambiance is super cute. Highly recommend this spot for a tasty meal.

Absolutely! Here's a glowing review that highlights Nutmeg's Café and the unique small-town charm of Okeechobee: --- "More Than Satisfied - A Local Gem in the Heart of Okeechobee!" If you're looking for something off the beaten path--where hospitality still means something and every corner feels like a warm hug from a simpler time--Nutmeg's Café in Okeechobee is your spot. This isn't just a café--it's a portal to everything that makes small-town Florida magical. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed not just by the friendly staff, but by the soulful atmosphere. Nutmeg's blends eclectic, almost storybook décor with a deep sense of community. Mismatched vintage chairs, shelves of quirky knick-knacks, and handwritten specials on chalkboards all add to the experience--it's like dining in your artsy cousin's sunroom who just happens to be an incredible chef. The food? Beyond expectations. Their gourmet paninis and homemade soups taste like someone's grandma went to culinary school and decided to open a café. The Ham and Pear panini is an unexpected masterpiece, and their cupcakes? Straight-up joy in frosting form. But what really sets Nutmeg's apart is the vibe. This is the kind of place where locals bring out-of-town guests to show off "the real Okeechobee." Conversations happen across tables. Regulars are greeted by name. You can sip a handcrafted iced coffee while watching downtown life go by--a sheriff tips his hat to a passing truck, a kid runs in to grab a cookie, someone drops off farm-fresh eggs at the back door. It's wholesome, it's weird, it's wonderful. If you're traveling through or looking for a reason to veer off the main highway, Nutmeg's Café is more than a meal--it's a love letter to small-town soul. You don't just leave full. You leave better. Hands down best caprese Panini I've ever eaten. Nutmeg's Cafe has a warm-hearted small town feel with a big time taste. Their cake balls taste better than they sound.

Iced Salted Caramel Latte with Almond Milk

A cute cafe with a wonderful and friendly staff! Plenty of parking and a fun arrangement of mismatched chairs and tables for seating. The detail to the theme of the cafe did not go unnoticed. Bravo! We came in just to grab a quick coffee to go and they were very accommodating. We each ordered an iced salted caramel latte with almond milk. The almond milk was so good it out shone the coffee. We could honestly just drink the milk itself. Once mixed together the coffee was a little bitter and the salted caramel didn't change the flavor but the almond milk made all the difference. Definitely will come back to try some food as well. Looks yummy!

Local owned cafe in Okeechobee with so much potential and beauty. Reminds me of sitting on the back porch with my mom drinking coffee and enjoying fresh breeze. My 2nd time coming for the weekend brunch menu, although Nutmegs offers a fabulous daily menu -my apologies I was unable to post- but I promise you almost everything on the menu is delicious and freshly made down to the coffee and many varieties of tea as well. The young lady who worked behind the counter was very pleasant and offered great customer service. Cafe smells yummy and the deco inside is very cute. Okeechobee is a small town but this is one of the best cafés to enjoy food or even a yummy dessert (cupcake's, shakes, macaroons, or cake balls)!

first off, this place has a great and versatile menu if you like sandwiches! I've been loving this hometown cafe since I moved into town, plus, the service is always kind and welcoming!! I also personally LOVE the way it decorated inside and the mix match chairs! It gives the place such an authentic and small town feeling.

Ham & pear panini. Melt in your mouth delicious!

What a charming cafe with delicious food!!! This is, by far, the best lunch spot in Okeechobee. Located in town with lots of cute shops, across the street from the park, it is an adorable place with a lovely homey feel, wonderful hospitality, and delicious food! Everything on the menu looks and sounds amazing. Lots of healthy options in a town where that is quite rare. I've only tried two sandwiches here so far, but they were both amazing. I've tried my boyfriend's tuna panini which, as someone who doesn't usually like tuna, I loved! However, my go-to panini is the Ham and Pear. Sounds simple, but my goodness they have this recipe down SO good! It has the perfect mix of salty & sweet, served hot with beautifully melty cheese and bread with just the right amount of crunch. I find myself craving this sandwich every day. It is so good. Prices are reasonable. Place is charming. Food is delicious. This is an Okeechobee must-try!

Stopped here after camping and we had a solid meal. Very friendly staff cute restaurant and clean bathrooms. I had a delicious salad and my husband had a shrimp wrap. I would go here again and again! Plenty of parking and some cute stores nearby.

Reminded me of panera bread, the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it's a bit pricy, $10 for a sandwich

In 1987 he began franchising his sandwich shops. By 2015 the number of Jersey Mike's shops exceeded 1,000 and Cranco is still the owner and CEO of the company. I needed a quick dinner as I cruising through Okeechobee. Dining options are limited here so a casual chain seemed like the best bet. It was completely empty when I entered and everything seemed clean. One worker had a mask on and one did not. I assumed the one with a mask would be making my sandwich but when I finally focused in on what was going on, it was the girl without a mask cutting my meat although she did have gloves on. I was too tired and hungry to call her out but I should have. I am sure she was supposed to be wearing a mask. Out of curiosity I checked out the Covid rates in Okeechobee. Ten days ago Okeechobee had a positive rate of 15.9 percent out of 6,627 compared to Palm Beach who has a positive rate of 13.2 out of 282,129. I found a news article that said that people in Okeechobee County were not getting tested frequently. Another site listed them as as having 1.202 cases compared to where I live in Broward that has over 69,000 cases. However if they are not getting tested in Okeechobee who knows? I wish I had thought of all of this before I allowed someone without a mask to make my sandwich. This will be the last time. Based on other reviews here this is not an isolated case. I will be better off packing my food next time. To try and end on a positive note, Jersey Mile's is located across from the brand new Hamrick Butterfly Garden which is a lovely place to eat.

Hurricane Irma dealt them a heavy blow and their legions of loyal customers were seriously worried, but they bounced back and are as awesome as ever! Arriving- Easy peasy to find with no tricks or challenges. The parking is adequate, and I've never had a problem. Ambience- It's a deli folks! Huge blackboards show you the extensive menu. I gave you a pic of just one of several panels. Tables, a covered patio, and a counter that seats about 40 folks all together. Note that the counter has a couple of power outlets for a quick phone charge. Nice! Pro Tip- They have their own Wi-Fi, but I didn't bother asking for the password as I connected to the nearby Xfinity Hot Spot. Customer Service- You order and pay at the counter. The drinks are serve-yourself. If you are eating in, someone will drop off your food at your table but there really isn't table service. All the folks that have touched me over several visits have been just fine. Food- I'm addicted to the Rachel! It's like a pastrami Reuben but with Cole slaw instead of sauerkraut. I guess sauerkraut was a little too strong for Rachel! I added fries and a small fountain drink, and the pre-tip tab was about $16. I've had this exact lunch several times and it always blows me away. Savory pastrami and crisp, fresh Cole slaw on toasted rye makes an excellent sandwich. The piping hot fries were well cooked. I was stuffed and smiling as usual. An easy 4-stars!

My family has been in South Florida for generations, so to be treated like I'm some outsider was insulting. As for the food? Absolutely terrible. The chicken was dry, salty, and clearly frozen definitely not fresh. For the prices they charge, you'd expect way better quality. Meanwhile, the family seated next to us was treated like royalty: their food was brought out to them, they were asked if they needed anything else, while we were shouted at across the deli like farm animals. And to top it all off there was mold in the ice machine. That alone is enough reason to never go back. This place was a total disappointment, and I'll never eat here again.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the guys behind the counter with their thick New York accents--it instantly sets the tone. The selection is incredible, with everything from large balls of freshly made mozzarella to eggplant, rice balls, and so many other classic Italian favorites. They do offer subs, but one of the best parts is being able to build your own at home--they'll happily slice up a pound of whatever cold cuts you choose. I was also pleasantly surprised to find imported olive oil straight from Sicily for $25, which I couldn't pass up. Fair warning: it's very easy to get carried away here. Just standing there, taking in all the options, you'll likely walk out with way more than you planned--but it's completely worth it. I ended up making my own sandwich using homemade sourdough from a local shop down the street, and the combination was perfect. Supporting locally owned businesses like this makes the experience even better. You get quality, authenticity, and real ingredients--something you just don't find with big chain stores. Shop local--you won't regret it.

The deli/hot bar area could use a lot more help though; there are almost always lines there and not enough help to slice deli meat, make sandwiches and/or cook the chickens and hot bar area items, let alone enough help serving them. I think they should do smaller batches of the hot bar items, more frequently to keep items fresher and not overcooked. That area is often neglected with either not much of a selection, especially after 5 pm, and/or overcooked dishes that have been on the hot bar too long; and usually there is no service person dedicated to serving just the hot food bar customers in that area; they seem short-staffed with oblivious help in the fryer area focused more on cooking chicken tenders (used mostly in the deli sandwich making area) and chicken pieces for boxes to put out. They are more often than not out of the Greenwise natural roasted chickens after 5. And regular roasted chickens are low too. But I don't care for the roasted chickens that have a lot of fluid solution injected into them. So I go without unless they have the Greenwise more natural type roasted chickens. They have a decent produce selection, but are lacking some of my favorite gourmet cheeses and other gourmet products that are available at most bigger Publix locations. But they do have a lot of items that aren't going to be found at Winn Dixie or Walmart. It's the best overall grocery store in Okeechobee. And I recommend using their app to see the sales items which run from each Thursday through the next Wed night. You can add items to your list. And make sure you view the digital coupons which you can 'clip' in the app; then when you checkout and enter your phone number associated with the app, their system will enter your clipped coupon discounts and/or BOGO deals. Otherwise you may miss out on some great deals each week! They are open 7-10 M-Sat and until 9 on Sunday except on holidays. And they have a water filtering machine (.50/gal) on the left side of the storefront, outside, that you can use 24/7.

I have been back the last few days to get more and doing other shopping while I was there never any problems almost always a line in there with people waiting patiently. I have only heard great things about the store and always about their great sweet tea. So today when I made a special trip out of my way to get me and a friend drinks some smokes and gizzards. I went to the deli case saw they had them in the case and I could see all the ladies around the corner preparing food I believe seeming busy. There was no line at the registers just 2 young ladies switching out and I walked over there and asked if I could get gizzards from her she smiled and said yes. She walked over to the deli side and told the girls in a normal voice "I guess they are ordering deli from the registers now" wow rude but ok I inconvenienced the young lady by talking 10 steps out of her life. Then a lady from the deli said "yeah it's stupid Sunday everyone's stupid" or something close to that. All in normal voices and I am the only one at the counter and could hear it I also asked for hot sauce to be added and she said she would have to do it for me and I told her that I knew and that was fine. So they knew that I could hear them and didn't care that I did. I work in customer service and would never be to rude and even when customers make you mad I know to never speak that way in front of them. I sure hope someone gets a lesson and manners and customer service because it is a great store with awesome food but the workers rude comentary can be something that we shouldn't have to hear a specially over something as silly as ordering food from the register when everyone was busy in the deli. Hope everyone has a way better experience then I did today.
