Great food great service and you learn from history they show with a movie on the walls

As a Florida native and Okeechobee local I was hoping for more... We had been wanting to try this place and finally got the chance. Not sure if we caught them on an off day or what but here's my honest review. I was happy to try their tallow fried fries since no one fries with tallow anymore... that was shattered when I tried one and they were soggy and uncooked. I returned them. They were out of the wagyu barbacoa which was my original pick and went with the ribs, baked beans, and Mac and cheese. My husband got brisket and baked beans and Mac. We also tried the stuffed jalapeños with brisket. Overall the flavors would have been ok (trying to be kind here) but everything was ice cold and very, very greasy and to top it all off when I ordered two root beers (they were not cold) I asked for a cup with ice, the young lady told me she'd have to charge me for a cup and ice... So, you purchase two bottled beverages from their establishment and they won't give you a cup with ice? What the heck. I am giving two stars because the young ladies who were working in there were kind and its not their fault no one has trained them on how long to leave fries in the fryer to fully cook or that when someone purchases a bottled beverage they should be able to get ice and a cup with it. I blame management and leadership on that one. Also, work on keeping the food hot when served. Over all this place was a total disappointment and I was really let down. Hope they improve on keeping food warm, not trying to up charge on an already overpriced meal and better training for the young people that work there. read more

From a local. Not expecting much because the same people own over price Lightsey's. Finally stopped in to give it a try on a Wednesday at 4 pm. My wife asked for a pulled pork sandwich, they were out of pulled pork. She switched to chicken. I asked for ribs, they were out. At 4PM!! We walked out. Don't waste your time. read more

This BBQ honestly gave my Texas background a run for top prize! I love a great BBQ place and I found one!!! Coots pulled pork sandwich was incredible with a great sweet sauce. The beans were really good. And to top things off--- homemade banana pudding. Top notch. Highly recommend Coots. read more

Where do I start? I ordered the brisket meal with two sides--BBQ beans and mac & cheese--along with a Texas Twinkie and a sweet tea. The meat cutter was very kind and even chopped the brisket for me, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the food itself was a completely different story. The first bite of BBQ beans was overwhelming due to the amount of salt. Thinking it might just be that item, I moved on to the brisket with house BBQ sauce--but it was also overly salted. Then came the mac & cheese...same issue. Everything I tried had an excessive amount of salt. I didn't even attempt the Texas toast after noticing visible salt on the bread. Because I have high blood pressure, I had to stop eating out of concern for my health. I returned the beans and they replaced them with potato salad, but that too was very salty. At that point, I brought the meal back. I was told there are no refunds, which was posted and I acknowledge I overlooked. They did offer to replace items, but since everything I tried had the same issue, that wasn't a helpful solution. I then suggested a reasonable alternative--swapping the meal for something different like banana pudding. However, I was told they could only replace items with more of the same types of food. When I expressed my dissatisfaction and tried to find a fair resolution, I was ultimately told I needed to leave. Throughout the interaction, I remained calm and respectful. I even stated I preferred to work toward a solution, understanding that bad days happen. In summary: * If the food doesn't meet expectations, there are no refunds (clearly posted). * The only solution offered is more of the same food, even if the issue applies to everything. * Raising concerns may result in being asked to leave, rather than working toward a resolution. Very disappointing experience overall. Follow Up After due diligence I was able to find about the owner through Sunnis.org. I spoke with him and he initially should concern and stated he would investigate the concern and return my call. He was complicit and called me back. He asked me two questions; 1. Did I say that I was going to contact the Better Business Bureau? 2. Did I add sauce to my food? When I started to speak he clearly let me know he didn't want an explanation just a yes or no response. I answered both yes and he immediately said there was nothing he could do for me and abruptly ended the conversation. I was taken aback but now understand the attitude of his staff. Great BBQ, homemade spicy sausage, real tallow fries, but the highlight of all was this amazing Southern-style potato salad, filled with old-fashioned flavors, Duke's mayo plus sweet pimientos. Get the sampler, pick 2 meats, 2 beautiful sides, plus pickled red onions and perfect dill pickles to cut the fat of the BBQ. Quick, not expensive and super flavorful. We were going to head to the restaurant next door, but my husband saw the cows on the roof and we switched horses mid-stream! And so glad we did! read more

I really really enjoyed the pork ribs. They were smoked to perfection! The sauce is excellent as well. We will be back!

Service was good. Bbq pork was good, but not the fries or texas toast. The toast was stale and tough. The fries are cooked in tallow oil which makes them tough and they put too much salt on them. The employees are really nice. read more

The BBQ was average. Sauces were average. Very average food. Service is a joke. Cafeteria style ordering and bus your own table. And of course they have a tip jar. Order ice water? 1.65 for tap water. Decour was absurd uncomfortable booths and plywood. No Brunswick stew! Very average for what you get. The sides are expensive and small. read more

Meat was good but the sides we not good at all . Mac and cheese had so much oil on bottom . French fries weren't cooked all the way . Potato salad had an after taste and not good at all . My husband wanted baked beans they ran out it was only like 6 pm . read more
