I really enjoyed the elliptical, leg press, leg curl, Ab and bicep curl machines here. At the time I visited the space was not crowded which is greatly appreciated. This allowed me to freely use whatever I needed without the crowds and waits. I love this for me in any gym. The amenities are great. The indoor pool, sauna and hot tub are a really nice touch here. I look forward to returning to try out some of these options. As far as the price point it's up there in price in comparison to my Y membership. I think for the peacefulness and quality of equipment in this space - it may be well worth it if it's meet one's expectations. My only point out here was some cardio machines could use some dusting. They could also use some new towels here or some fabric softener would help soften the towels. I recommend bringing your own towels.

I picked up Krav Maga in my mid-40s because I realized I'm a "freezer." I needed to learn how to retrain my brain to act in dangerous situations. I'm petite, about 5-feet tall. I was skeptical at first that I would be able to physically compete with someone much larger than me until I saw Caity fight. We are close to the same size, and she is a fierce, agile fighter as well as a fantastic instructor! Whenever we are practicing a technique in class that is likely not suitable for someone my size, Caity always has another tactic to share so I can discover what works best for me. Alex exudes passion and excitement that is contagious to his students. He is sincerely concerned with helping each student, regardless of skill level, not only improve every time they step into his class but also have fun and build confidence. Caity and Alex both possess a natural ability to provide feedback and instruction without undermining confidence, which is one of the most crucial characteristics of a good teacher. I've never left one of Alex or Caity's classes without feeling better about myself and looking forward to the next class. I'm willing to drive an hour or more to train with Caity and Alex because they offer a challenging, safe, fun environment where I feel comfortable letting go of my personal insecurities in order to learn and become more adept and confident at protecting myself in the event of an attack or dangerous situation. I also love that Rogue offers other forms of fitness such as yoga and strength training. Caity and Alex have created a space where I can grow stronger and healthier mentally and physically. Rogue feels like a second home.

Very personal and informative about what to expect. We completed some customary forms for personal intake. Once we provided the information and areas of concern - we were instructed to the stretch tables and provided what stretches they would do. The overall session was exactly 30 mins. Of the areas of concern they provided a great stretch. I felt a difference as soon as I got up. At that point, they provided you a plan of action to assist with building up your flexibility. For us, it was a 3x times a week plan for about $400 a month. They do offer $85 sessions as well if you would like to come in and out as needed without a committed plan. I think this is a good option for those looking for this type of thing to assist with their overall health and wellbeing. I would recommend to others, definitely!

Instead the employee who sits at the front desk called me, telling me that an increase in pain must be due to my not giving appropriate feedback during my session. (!) So no real attempt was made by Stretch Zone to try to understand what was going on with me. This is not only bad practice, but also dangerous to clients. I'll stick with practitioners who have more training with injury management such as physical therapists.

I live right smack dab between Knightdale and Wakefield so that that gives me double the options. I've only seen Wakefield and Knightdale and there are subtle differences. Knightdale is newer so things seem a bit "shinier", still. The locker combination system is different so if you get used to one, you'll lock yourself out at the other. Knightdale doesn't seem as crowded. The Hot Tub is smaller but I think the lap pool is larger. The Knightdale club has more "scenery" outside the windows -- you see trees instead of offices which is pleasant. Both offer a wide variety of classes and both are clean with attentive staff (though again, the nod goes to Knightdale for having a truly welcoming front desk person and very helpful in showing a new member around).. WHEN you lock yourself out of your locker, they respond promptly rather than making sit and drip for 10 minutes and you can call from the locker room rather than having to wander out in your bathing suit! I suspect that I will use Knightdale more than Wakefield just because it seems better run and more pleasant setting. Both are (for me) a huge step up from the Y because you don't have kids running around the pool area or having to get kicked out of the pool for make up toddler swim lessons. As opposed to the Y which is much more family oriented, Rex is more more oriented towards those of us who are a bit "long of tooth" and are just trying to keep our mobility so we aren't having to use a scooter to ride around the grocery store. If your thing is to go watch the gym bunnies in their lycra, you'll likely be VERY disappointed in the scenery here. But that's ok because I feel comfortable knowing I'm not the only one that is a middle-aged mom with the stretch marks to prove it and I just want a pleasant welcoming place to get away from the daily grind, improve my health and de-stress.
