I have been visiting and shopping at Righteous Remedies ever since they opened, often at least once…read morea week for tea and a nice conversation. Not to mention purchasing the organic herbs and spices for cooking and teas at home as well as so many other things. One year, for Christmas, I purchased a variety of the products they carry - including but not limited to hand made soaps and salves, fragrant oils and a number of other items. I put them in a large decorative bag and gave them to my sister's family at Christmas dinner. They loved sorting through them and choosing what they wanted. It was a big hit. Another time, I purchased a gift card there for a friend's birthday. He loves to cook and I knew he would enjoy browsing through the considerable number of organic herbs and spices Emily carries. The emphasis at Righteous Remedies is on health and wellness as well as supporting local artisans and providing a warm, relaxing environment for people just wanting to take a break from the outside world for a little while. Or just to grab an excellent tea on the run. And I have met some really nice people there.

Ever since a change in our schedule had us coming here on Thursdays instead of our typical Fridays, we've consistently ran into the same male barista (as far as we know, he's the only male barista of the shop) again and again. At first, he seemed a little confused on how to make our coffees (asking us what we wanted in them... when the ordered items are very specific in what's put in them), so we just assumed he was new at the job (we never ran into him any other day in our visits). But as time went on, we started to realize that he lacked any care/interest in his work. He would barely mix our frappes (leading to large chunks of chocolate chips or other items that can't be sucked through a straw), he'd give us the same size of drink even if we asked for different sizes, he'd practically refuse to put any sugars/sweeteners that isn't a quick pre-mix (leading to a lot of bitter and unpleasant drinks), and to top it all off: He'd only give us ONE stamp for our visits. We'd always order 2 coffees, sometimes 3 - and yet, he'd ONLY give us ONE stamp. No, this isn't company policy. All OTHER baristas we've had would always give us one stamp PER DRINK. For the most part, we've ignored his poor service and just did our best to not come here on Thursdays - but we can't always ensure this due to our work and life schedules. So, every now and then, we'd end up here on Thursdays, on our way to our regular stops in the week... Today, however, was the last straw. Not only did we get the usual treatment (bare-mixing of drinks, no sugars/sweeteners, one stamp) - but the coffee we ordered today was SO HOT THAT IT WARPED THE CUP. Not sure if you realize this, but COFFEE SHOULD NOT BE HOT ENOUGH TO WARP THE CONTAINER IT GOES INTO. My wife grabbed the cup in her usual way, but due to the heat, the cup immediately warped in her CAREFUL HOLD, popped its lid off, and spilled all over the car, her seat, and her hands. Her hand was burned from this... And all the barista offered... were napkins. Not a refund. Not a replacement. Not an apology. Just napkins. Spill the Beans... Nutrition Hang-Out... PLEASE TEACH THIS BARISTA PROPER WORK DISCIPLINE AND ETIQUETTE OR HAVE HIM FIRED. My wife's hand was burned from this incident. We have a right to sue. Also, we noticed a new face there who seems to be learning the ropes from him: DO NOT LET HIM TEACH OTHERS HOW TO SERVE COFFEE/TREAT CUSTOMERS HERE. ... Everyone else that works here? And then I got some energy bars and some organic raisins..well, I ended up buying quite a few 'healthy comfort' foods. The store is stocked with a nice assortment of products ranging from baby food to eco-friendly cleaners. Their produce section is miniscule but they buy locally when possible. Prices are a bit higher here but if you're a vegan/vegetarian, it's nice to know Liz' is is in Conway. They aren't open on Sundays and they close early on Saturday's, so beware.

A good selection of gluten-free grains and baking flours, as well as GF snacks, cereals... A crazy amount of vitamins and supplements - one whole side of the store. Lots of nice bulk items you won't find elsewhere, like jasmine tea and cinnamon sticks. Unique chocolates and teas and trail mixes - all kinda fun stuff. Plus they give you a free lady bug bag on your first visit - so nice. --- some things aren't fresh, like berries, daikon; some arent fresh and are way overpriced, like ginger; there aren't some items like red onions, cherry toor cilantro. it was freezing in the store; the classes they offer aren't of interest; the beauty section (shampoo, lotion, solid peetc.) selection isn't great. Checkout is always quick and I love that they don't use plastic. I sell online a lot so the boxes they give me come in handy later for shipping. Great place!

I had a fairly large order, and he was incredibly patient and sweet throughout the entire process. Even though he was clearly busy, he never seemed overwhelmed or rushed anyone. He stayed calm, friendly, and attentive, making sure everything was just right. Customer service like this is rare, and Richard absolutely deserves recognition. Whole Foods is lucky to have him!
