A few months back I had an issue depositing a check which resulted in my account becoming overdrawn. I was extremely upset and, during my break, I drove to the nearest NuVision branch on 17th Street in Costa Mesa. When I walked in, I was visibly frustrated--but Tess greeted me with kindness and professionalism. I explained my situation to her, and she immediately calmed me down and took care of the issue on the spot. Her sweet and understanding demeanor, along with how efficiently she resolved everything, completely turned my day around. Honestly, it was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had. I also mentioned a dispute that I had been trying to resolve over the phone for over a month. Tess took the initiative and had it fully resolved by the next day. I have been with Nuvision Credit Union for over 35 years & today I spoke with Daniel several times today as he was helping me to link my Money Network EED debit card to my checking account. I called Daniel back each time I talked to Money Network as they ARE NO HELP AT ALL. Daniel called his IT people to ask for help with linking my debit card to my checking and called me back. He called IT another few times with different questions trying to assist me with this issue as I live over 100 miles to drive one way. Very disappointed in my experience with Nuvision Federal Credit Union. I received a suspicious phone call which later became a voicemail on my voice mailbox from someone who sounded like they were in a tunnel, who was "running a security check" on the card I have with Nuvision. The caller provided a "case number", and then a number to call them back with. This is a number that is not listed on the Nuvision website. When I tried calling this number, the person on the other line kept asking for information they should already have, considering that I was given a "case number" - they were trying to get me to verify the phone number on the account, my name on the account, my address - pretty much information that you wouldn't really feel comfortable giving over the phone to someone you don't know. So I hung up on the creepy lady and now have to waste time out of my day tomorrow to call Nuvision's call center. My issue with this is if this is indeed their "Fraud" department, why is it outsourced? My OTHER credit union that I belong to and adore - does not outsource their fraud department. When I call, I already feel comfortable about being helped because I call the same number that is listed on their website, so I know whoever picks up on the other line is legitimate. In this day and age where identity theft runs rampart, financial institutions should be doing more to safeguard their member's private information, rather than potentially expose them to more danger by outsourcing their "Fraud Department" to a suspicious third-party whose number they won't even list on their website. I'm not going to readily provide information that this phone rep should have had from the "case number" I was provided. Very disappointing indeed. Since Nuvision has decided to outsource their Fraud Department to this third-party and by doing so, associate themselves with the service, I consider Nuvision responsible for my uncomfortable experience trying to clear this "security check" on my card. Get your act together Nuvision. You should be able to afford in-house fraud services who treat your Members with courtesy and respect. read more

Tess Bermudez at Costa Mesa NuVision Federal Credit union went above and beyond with helping my wife and I. We had been in contact with the Edinger Branch. The employee there (# ) was not helpful at all. She did not fill out our paperwork correctly and was unsure of herself. Her manager had to step in and help her. We did not want to renew my wifes IRA at the rate offered and stated so. We wanted to roll it over into another account with a higher rate. She checked the wrong box! Tess was able to fix everything and offered us an IRA CD at a higher intrest rate. Jimmy was a life saver! I needed a lawyer who wanted quite a bit of money that I had to get together in ONE DAY! I was so stressed and had no idea what to do. When I came into this branch, Jimmy was immediately empathetic and did all he could to get me a loan quick. This review is for Nuvision as an entity, particularly their loans process, and not necessarily this branch, it just happens to be my home branch. It makes sense to me that going through an online debt consolidation company or somewhere that you don't have a history with to deny a small loan request outright, but for your credit union (who is supposed to be for the people and not the same as every other corporate bank) to deny a perfectly reasonable application from someone with good credit without a conversation with the person is offputting. And then to be told over the phone basically they aren't going to answer questions or consider anything besides your credit report is even more offputting. Nevermind the fact that I had a loan with them years before which I paid off early. Nevermind that the loan I'm asking for would help eliminate the debt to income ratio problem they saw in my credit report (cause my credit and income are good enough to get me a house and two cars). Just....no. And I've run my own credit report and have a good rating! I've been relatively happy with them as banking institutions go, it's just disappointing to learn that they aren't really any different than other banks. read more

I came in to this branch with one specific request - to change the date of my car payment which I financed through Nuvision. I was greeted by Ryan Grimes when I walked in who was super welcoming, friendly and personable. Not only was he able to change my payment date (which was the only request I had), but he also went out of his way to help me refinance my car. He was able to cut my interest rate in half AND lower my monthly payment. But Ryan's outstanding customer service didn't end there! He also got me approved for a Visa Rewards credit card. The process throughout all of these changes was so easy! I was inside the branch for only about 15 minutes while Ryan worked his magic. What can I say about this place other than it's awesome. I had been all over town trying to secure a private party used car loan and none of the major banks offer that service any more. A friend suggested a credit union so I stopped by and within an hour I had the loan dialed in. NFCU is one of the best in the business in my book. I have banked with them since I was 16 years old and I'm 29 now. I have always had a great experience with them. I also have 2 car loans with them and just closed my 3rd today. I walked into this new branch a couple months ago and met Ivan. I cannot express and thank Ivan E. I never write Yelp reviews, but if you want to be treated like family and with your satisfaction being of the utmost priority, you need to schedule an appt with Ryan Grimes at Nuvision Credit Union. I applied for an auto loan at Nuvision back in September after my car got totalled, and was unfortunately denied. My credit wasnt the greatest and I had to settle for a high interest, high monthly payment car loan with a big bank lender. Six months go by and I get a call from Ryan saying that although I was denied six months ago, after reviewing my old application he believed I could still be approved. I was stoked! He was 100% transparent with me every step of the way and explained the good, bad and the ugly in an understanding, unintimidating, and optimistic way and I believe he truly had my best interest at heart. Not only was he able to refinance my auto loan and save me almost $200 a month, he also explained what other options I had available to me and was able to consolidate my credit card debt and ultimately save me more money and help my credit overall. AMAZING! EPIC! I have had a personal account at Nuvision for 10+ years, and they have been great for anything we needed including a car loan. During the Coronavirus pandemic our normal business bank Chase, was very disappointing with the rollout. Somehow before they started accepting applications for the Care Act PPP program, Chase had given Ruth Chris Steak House 22 million dollars, us ZERO. I realized they weren't helping true small businesses, so I sent an email to Nuvision. I got a reply within hours, submitted our application and required paperwork the next day 4/8 and began working with Derek Dykman and he had it approved and submitted on 4/15. Derek came through! My PPP loan was approved when Chase was out of funds. Nuvision is fortunate to have Derek, and their Small Business team!! In Costa Mesa I worked with Ryan and Virginia setting up my Business account. They went above and beyond too! This is the kind of bank I am working with from now on! read more

this location is unlike any other bank or credit union i have been to. it has a very modern look and feel to it, everything was brand spanking new. i came here on a Saturday to cash some savings bonds. i was immediately greeted by Mina & Lauren and offered water or coffee while i waited. they have video teller machines that i've never seen before and Mina gave me a demonstration how it works. thank you!! read more
