So it was time to find a chiropractor. On a Sunday. Oh joy. I called around several places, but nobody was available today. Eventually I found Dr. Kevin. After looking at his Yelp page(s) and his website (the URL listed on Yelp is wrong), he looked a bit sketchy to me. But we were out of options, so we decided to give him a try. We're so glad we did! It turns out that Dr. Kevin has "clinics" in both Kirkland and Renton. We chose to meet him at the Kirkland clinic today. After/while filling out a relatively lightweight set of paperwork (yay!), Dr. Kevin did a great job listening to our story and he asked good questions. Eventually he asked my husband to move in specific ways, and Dr. Kevin poked / prodded him in some areas to identify the source of the problem. Dr. Kevin took some time to explain his conclusions, as well as his proposed treatment. My husband agreed to the treatment and so we got started with that... After some adjustments, I could tell that my husband's movement had improved quite a bit already. Dr. Kevin rounded out the visit by giving my husband instructions on exercises and how to ice the sore spot over the next couple days. The cost for the visit was reasonable and straightforward. We don't have insurance at the moment, so he swiped our HSA card using his phone. If we have any questions, we can text him. Dr. Kevin strikes me as a solid, honest, easy-going professional. Early on, he mentioned that my husband likely would need a follow-up visit in a couple days, but since Dr. Kevin wouldn't be in Kirkland during that time, we'd likely need to see a different chiropractor. Because my husband's mobility improved a lot during the initial visit, we've decided to drive to Renton for the next visit - even though there are other chiropractors with offices much closer to where we live.

After months of weekly visits, there was zero progress. Each appointment lasted 3-4 minutes at most, just the same quick "adjustments" every time. She never did proper evaluations, never asked real questions about my pain, never tested anything. Instead, most of the visit was small talk about the weather or her kids at school -- everything except the injury I was suffering from. Then, out of nowhere, she decided I had "reached maximum treatment" and signed me off for full duty -- without even asking me a single word about how I was doing. On the first page of her note it says "back to full duty," but on the second page she wrote "no lifting more than 15 lbs." Seriously? You tell me -- how can anyone in construction go back to full duty if they can't lift more than 15 pounds? She also claimed in her notes that I had made progress and my pain had decreased, which is an absolute lie. I never said that -- she clearly wrote it just to justify her billing. Just look at her notes and you'll see how negligently she filled out a formal medical form. That false information, combined with her contradictions, gave my L&I claim manager the excuse to cut off all my treatments. Her actions weren't just negligent, they directly harmed my recovery and disrupted my family life. To me, she showed zero care about my medical issues and only cared about getting paid for doing almost nothing. Based on the lack of knowledge and responsibility I saw, I honestly doubt whether she's even properly trained. I've already filed a complaint with L&I and I'm working with my attorney to take serious action. This was the most frustrating and irresponsible medical experience I've ever had, and I wouldn't recommend her to anyone.
