Food was sloppy and takes forever to deliver then when you complain they refuse delivery

Corner bodega with an ATM and efficient deli counter. Recommended! For years, I stopped in this bodega just to use their ATM. The cashier and I developed a rapport, and I waved to the deli counter workers. Masha - their badass bodega cat - roams the store and relaxes on the sidewalk out front. I give the kitty pets, and go on my way. Finally, one evening I got to try a bunch of their sandwiches. Friends were hungry and we happened to be nearby. We ordered a bunch of hoagies (you know, sandwiches) and they were delicious. I have a soft spot for Italian hoagies, and they made it to spec, and super fast. Ordered a sandwich that had a fly. I was sharing my sandwich with my 7 month old and when I pulled a black olive to give to her o bit into it to break it and when I went to pass it to her it smelled weird so I mushed it with my finger and found the fly. I had the chicken over rice and the hamburger with fries. Chicken over rice was lower than average compared to other chicken over rice that I've had. The fries were soggy. Delis already aren't great quality but some delis have better made to order food than others. Don't waste your time coming here because chances are they're going to mess up your order. I've never left a bad review on any business before but I've come here too many times and had the staff mess up my order to not complain. Today I'm eating a dry sandwich because the staff ignored me when I asked for oil and vinegar which should be a super easy request. The place is really tiny and always super crowded around lunch time, which would be fine if the employees listened it your order but they're so focused on getting you to pay and get out that they don't. There's one guy that's also just pretty rude and seems like he doesn't care so that doesn't help! I could definitely see them cutting corners when it comes to food prep too. The Villager!! Love this place, there is probably 7 other delis that are closer to me but my experience has been bleak for most of them. I had started to believe the 'good' corner deli was just a myth until I tried NY Grill & Deli. Open 24 hour, crazy fast delivery at 3am. Pretty much the backbone of my life at the moment. Pop in for breakfast: egg and cheese with avocado and chipotle mayo is made by the nicest guys and you're in and out in 10 minutes max. Lunch or dinner get a chipotle Philly, chicken cutlet sandwich, whatever and boom same thing. Service is great, food always hits, pretty much the perfect neighborhood spot. Holy fuck, stumbled here in the middle of the night and ordered and bacon egg and cheese. The bread was nicely toasted and crunchy, the cheese melted beautifully within the eggs and the bacon was freshly grilled. This is actually the best BEC I've ever had. Will DEFINITELY come back. We used Grubhub to deliver breakfast and sandwiches. Everything was really good, and delivery was faster than promised.

I never take for granted the endless possibilities of deliver. 8pm and craving pastrami?, why of course. Hot, lean meat & cheese on a fresh hero delivered in 30 minutes. Fries were slightly undercooked but hot and thicker cut as I like. The slaw was a vinegar vs mayo based, not my fave. Overall,solid deli and recommend for a quick meal. read more

Honestly, I was looking forward to eating from this spot. Everything on their menu seemed great. I ordered BBQ wings but instead I received plain wings. I paid and extra dollar for a cup of BBQ sauce and instead they sent me every sauce except BBQ. . . What they should of done was called me and notified me that they were out of BBQ sauce and asked what flavor I wanted instead or offered me to try something else on their menu. Was so hungry when I arrived in NYC; decided to order from Grubhub. Big mistake! I ordered from NY Grill a sandwich, drink, extra pickles, mozzarella sticks and onion rings. I ordered the last two because I had to meet a minimum order. :( What I got was a sandwich with the fried mozzarella sticks and fried onion rings IN the sandwich. So disgusting. The sandwich was inedible and I had to throw it out. The pickles were limp and soggy no crunch whatsoever. Don't order from here. In fact, I think they owe me a refund! I'm sure there are far better choices in New York. Go there or order from there. For almost $30, almost anything is better! read more

This establishment does not care about their customers at all! I ordered a bacon Swiss burger plain and a chicken wrap. I received a mozzarella burger, dripping in mayo, no bacon and the chicken wrap had hair in it. When I asked them to please remake it, they refused. So I asked for my money back and they only refunded $2. So a supervisor at Grubhub called NY Grill to resolve the issue. They told the supervisor that I could walk over to the restaurant myself and bring the food back. Why would I do that, when I payed extra for the delivery of an incorrect order? Honestly, this deli does not compare to any other. The quality of their cooked food is amazing. The staff are personable, and in my four years of living in the east village this is definitely my favorite place. They have such a variety of food, and since they own other restaurants their cooked food is really on another level compared to every other deli I've tried. I even constantly see cops stopping by at this specific deli to get food because of the quality and their 24/7 service! Awesome deli! They even deliver!!!! read more

I'm leaving a comment, because these guys took my money and didnt even make my food. So I reserved my meal through mealpal. When i got to this place, told them I have mealpal order. Mealpal has one set of lunch different everyday. I saw boss telling the chief to cook something else. (The picture and description cleary said seeded bread which was hero sides and breaded chicken, but boss told chief to make on a roll) I pointed out that its different. From that moment they started yelling that they never got the mealpal order. As long as i scan their QR code, the restaurant receive the money and they suppose to make or give out the meal. Words cannot even explain how pissed I am. I waited over an hour for my food to arrive and it never did and I couldn't get a refund because I "missed the delivery". I left a note for the delivery guy to call instead of knocking and I stood up at 3am in the kitchen by the front door and nothing. No phone call or even a light knock. I checked when the elevator would stop at my floor and nothing. Not only was I so hungry that I paid TWENTY DOLLARS FOR TWO SANDWICHES but my food never came and I couldn't even get my refund. Me and my husband went hungry last night. I was told that they called multiple times and waited 5-10 minutes for me but I have no record of any missed calls nor did I see a delivery guy.
