Sandwell was such a great all around experience..from the quality of food, service, and atmosphere. If you want a great sandwich in NY, this place won't disappoint. I'm actually not a huge sandwich person...or so I thought. My family got an array of options.. passing around, trying it all. Everything...I mean EVERYTHING was the best. Thank you to the team for this amazing addition to our NY experience !!

You MUST try Sandwell's thanksgiving specials- the Ross and the Rachel while they're still here- petition to keep them year round! The Rachel: our own uncured maple turkey, maple dijon coleslaw, swiss cheese, dill pickles, zesty 1000 island dressing * LIMITED SPECIAL* The Ross: our own uncured maple turkey, cranberry sauce, chicken apple sausage stuffing, dairy-free basil mayo *LIMITED SPECIAL* I also always order a mac and peas $6 - and save for the next day- so delicious and great texture Promos: If you order directly from Sandwell's website you earn points on every purchase and theres free delivery on orders of $20+ I think i've earned 2-3 free sandwiches, you can track your order and my order is never batched with anyone else's so it always arrives really quickly I can't recall the exact details but I believe Sandwell also has a coin flip happy hour special , if you call and choose heads or tails and the coin falls on your call, your order is 50% off Great customer service to boot!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute sandwich place in the UWS![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was fast and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was very casual-- there are several seats inside and outside, so it's perfect to visit when you need a quick bite![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We walked in around 11:50AM on a Tuesday morning to try The Ross, but unfortunately they were sold out!!! We decided to try The Rachel, which is another sandwich in their Thanksgiving special menu. - The Rachel: 100000/10 (soft toasted bread, creamy and tarty sauce, shredded turkey = perfection. This might be on my list for top 3 sandwiches in the city!)

YUM-this place was soooo good. I had had a full day of wandering the Natural History Museum and hadn't had much to eat all day, so this place was a godsend. They had a great selection of meat and meatless sandwiches and salads and the meatball sub, which apparently is very popular, was calling to me. This was the best sandwich I've had in a while. I can't even describe why. All the sandwiches there are about $16-18 dollars and it's well worth it. Every ingredient was fresh and warm and hearty. I felt like I was eating really quality food. Staff was nice and they have a 50% off "happy hour" deal if you're a member, which I totally would do if I lived closer. Wow

My mouth is watering thinking about this sandwich again. I stopped by this place on the walk home to my friend's house, and it was actually one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I happened to go during happy hour. If you have a rewards account, they let you flip a coin, and if you get it right, then you get 50% off. I was so excited when I got it right. The guy working cheered with me. Super nice!! I got the green goddess Chicken Caesar sub, and it was SO GOOD!! The chicken was delicious. The flavors were perfect. I loved the crunch of the tomato. So so so yummy!! It was also a really big sandwich. I ate the second half the following day. It wasn't as good as it was fresh but still great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was cute with tables. I also loved the flooring. Love, love, love!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Food: I ordered the special which was a riff on the Italian sandwich. I like that they prioritize making things with a healthy-ish spin but I just wished it had more of the traditional cold cuts you'd find like salami, capicola, mortadella, etc. The bread had a nice crisp banh-mi like exterior with a soft supple interior and the topping all felt in line with what I was expecting with different hits of subtle crunch, tart, and spice. The main meat on this was turkey and while very good, just didn't hit the same spark I was looking for. I also got to try a bite of the turkey meatballs which was decent! Prob the best a turkey rendition can be. I've heard a lot of great things about this place so I def want to try more of their subs. Service: Ordering was pretty simple and there's an option to do it on a counter or on the tablet on the side wall. Food came out quickly and without fuss. Ambiance: [[HIGHLIGHT]]A basic sandwich shop with clean modern seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I have to eat gluten free, and while on vacation, someone recommended Sandwell. Best recommendation ever! Their gluten free bread was great, the sandwiches were delicious! It was the best thing I ate during our trip! The Spicy chicken banh mi was amazing! I've never had a better gluten free sandwich! The staff were also so nice and helpful. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was so beautiful and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I might go back to New York just to go here again!

What a delicious sandwich! We got the Chicken Pesto Burrata Sandwich to share. The outside was nicely toasted and the chicken and pesto were SO flavorful! To top it off, one sandwich was more than big enough for the two of us to share.

Friendly, quick service. Nice stop for a quick bite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A bit of seating inside and 3 tables outside along sidewalk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My daughter and I split our chicken pesto burrata, which was the perfect amount. The sandwich was filling and flavorful - a good balance of ingredients. They offer a nice ginger lemonade as part of their beverage options.

Tried the broccoli sandwich. Char was good and I liked the flavor. Cheese sauce did solidify too much. And they added too much hot sauce. Overall enjoyed this though. Bread was decent to ok.

I loved Green Goddess Sandwich. Good amount of chicken and greens

The deluxe pho had all the meat fixings with homemade beef meatballs, thinly sliced sirloin, and pull apart brisket. The noodles and toppings were standard. Overall perfect soup for a chilly rainy day. I only had some bites of the chicken pho but it tasted clean and soothing. The wings in their "pho" sauce were crispy but a little on the saltier side. Almost reminiscent of Korean fried chicken. Service: It was decent. Ambiance: Generally modern decor. Here I am…read more The legendary Florentine sandwich shop achieved global fame by earning some of the highest praise in food journalism for its massive, fresh-baked schiacciata sandwiches. Google their name and "best" and get hundreds of hits, but the majors who crowned them "best sandwich" title include Saveur Magazine, the big one touted by the family; Eater NY, ranking La Paradiso the most elite Italian sandwich outside of Italy; Las Vegas Weekly, who crowned them "Home of the world's best sandwiches"; TripAdvisor, for whom the Italian original is the most reviewed eatery with a near perfect rating; and The Infatuation NYC guides who promise the execution of the crispy, airy schiacciata bread completely justifies the hype. All 17 options looked amazing, so I spoke to a regular in line, telling her I couldn't decide between "La Paradiso", the most praised (even though she informed me "mortadella is just bolonie" or the Hot Italian, which was more my style. So, I did what any gluttonous American would do and I got both. And a Diet Coke, of course. La Paradiso has thinly sliced bolonie for a savory base, with creamy shredded stacciatella cheese, with sweet but earthy pistachio cream, and a sprinkle of toasted pistachio for texture (that I didn't detect). It was good, but I will likely fuggedaboutit. The Hot Italian had thin, lean turkey, spicy and smoky spreadable Calabrian pork sausage, a balancing provolone, calabrian chili honey, and peppery arugula (that they claim adds crunch that I didn't detect). Were they life-changing? No. But I rank Paradiso a 8.8 and Hot Italian a 10. And because everyone is hard-working and everything is so freshly prepared and cut, it's a class act. They should seriously make a sign that says, "Can't decide? Get two!" and then give me free sandwiches on my yearly trips for the idea.
