When you get there, the line can be long so it's hard to tell what's going on. The line tends to start at the back, not at the door. Some of the review photos on here have paper menus, but the only menus to speak of at the restaurant are on the walls behind the counters (difficult to read when it's crowded) and the counter displays of bagels and spreads. I'd suggest scoping out what you want beforehand. They have pretty much any kind of bagel and spread you could want, so if nothing on the menu looks appealing, make your own! This bagel caused me to miss the bus, forcing me to figure out how to kill the following two hours before the next came. Was it worth it? It is with a heavy heart that I must say: No!!!! Grr... Not the best bagel I've had and just had a weird experience. I waited a while to order, and it was even enough for a lady in the line to ask "what's going on?" The shop was also out of a lot of bagels. No plain, no everything and a few more bins were empty. Since those are my 2 go-to's, I opted for a sesame. the bagel itself wasn't bad, but I had ordered a toasted bagel with an egg and cheese and it wasn't toasted, and the egg and cheese were just okay. I wouldn't order it again, and honestly this place wouldn't be on my list to return with there being so many places here in nyc. I read from several sources online that these were supposed to be some of the better bagels on the LES...I was really disappointed. These bagels are flavorless. They don't necessarily taste BAD or GROSS but they taste like white bread. Texture wise, they are visually like a bready grocery store bagel, and upon taste...yep. No crust. No chew. 4.5 stars but rounding up. This is my go-to neighborhood hole-in-the-wall breakfast joint when I need something fast and easy. I'm right next to Russ & Daughters and I love their bagels but, man, it's just not worth the several HOUR long wait that I've experienced on weekends before. Heaven's Hot might be the antithesis of R&D. It's no frills, not at all trendy, and never a long wait (I think the longest I've waited was in the 5-10 minute range). Bring your out-of-towner guests to Russ, but this place is great for a local. Everything is pretty significantly cheaper than market standard. My go-to order is a Houston platter with sausage, scrambled eggs, rye toast, and hash browns, and I think the whole thing is under $6. Their coffee is also unreal. I really like their red eyes (a shot of espresso in hot coffee for those not in the know) and especially like them after a night of heavy drinking when I need something to wake up. Employees are super nice and non-pretentious. The last time I was in, they forgot my order, and they were SO incredibly apologetic to the extent where I had to be like, "No, seriously, it's REALLY no big deal at all." My one complaint is that the bagels themselves are not great, which is why I usually opt for a platter instead. I also haven't tried any of their sandwiches so I can't attest to those. I would assume they're pretty standard deli fare. Will return. read more

A good standard bagel. It's an affordable option and definitely tasted fresh. They had a range of options to suit everyone's taste which was nice. I also could tell how local this spot was when I grabbed my to-go because a lot of local staff (police and people working nearby) came in to grab breakfast. Parked in front of this place originally to get breakfast from Clinton Street Baking Company and when was enticed by the descriptive nova lox listed on their sidewalk menu. There are tons of options here! I think every picky eater would find something here. The whole wall is covered with their menu. I ordered the nova lox on whole wheat. The bagel was nice and warm and jam packed (see pic). My only complaint is the steep price and cash only. Total with tax was $10.34. I have like 100 check-ins here. The staff is so sweet and they renovated the inside about 6-8 months ago. Looks gorg! The staff always gets a kick out of the sandwiches I create and they usually try them out themselves afterwards! Obsessed. Fresh squeezed orange juice if you get there early enough before the rush because they sell out. Prices are dirt cheap, crazy since they use such great quality ingredients (ex: boards head meats, organic eggs) and they offer French Vanilla and Hazelnut creamers for your coffee! Prob the best coffee I've had in all my years living in NYC. Zero clue what they do to it. The staff girls are so diligent in remembering my past orders even though the lines are so long with so many people (line moves very quickly) so never an issue. Ugh so sad that I moved from LES to Gramercy. Will miss this place since I went several times a month. As we were walking to find somewhere else, we noticed this little place with lots of locals, so we stopped in. It was a bit overwhelming, so many people and the fast pace of order taking. The menu is extensive, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, eggs, burritos and wraps. I tried a ham, cheese egg sandwich on a wheat bagel. The sandwich was $4.25 and I could not finish it. The bagel was so fresh and soft. My daughter tried the egg white veggie burrito for $4.50. It also was very good. There is no indoor seating, but there are a few outdoor tables .
