If you drive here may have trouble finding a parking spot close by. You have to watch the street markings closely. Many spots are reserved for residents. Worst case, there is parking 3 blocks away for $10 a day. I parked 5 blocks away. First time ever needed the phone app to find my car. Lots of activities, bike rentals, free breakfast of toast, cereal, pastries and juice. Great place and very clean rooms. Respectful people upon my visit. read more

The Nyah hotel in key west was a great atmosphere during our visit to Key West. The staff was super friendly and very informative about the island. They were very quick to accommodate my last minute change in plans, and worked with me to setup scooter rentals, as well as a snorkeling trip! Their phrase "not your average hotel" is quite true. With murphy beds, and small rooms suited to fit four or more people, it's a different experience. But this doesn't at all take away from the benefits. From comfy beds, to a free happy hour, multiple pools, and personal porches, this hotel is a relaxing central hub to the surrounding island of Key West. I plan on staying here again, and will make it my choice hotel for future visits. read more

NYAH, yes it's NOT your average hotel! 8 minute walk from the Ferry, 3 pools and 2 hot tubs, piped in tunes play in the background as you ease the day away. Ok, The Hilton it's not, but the rooms are clean and have all of the expected gadgets. We have the loft, 1 King and 1 Queen, in a split level setting. It's cozy and the views are awesome. The airport is near and you'll hear air traffic, but you'll hear that anywhere. Continental breakfast is from 0800-1030 and happy hour wine/cheese is 1620-1720. Great place if traveling with several people who want to stay in same room. Individual lockers in each room keep belongings separated and safe. Very nice upgraded hostel with gorgeous grounds and a variety of private pools. We may have had an atypical experience since our group of six was able to essentially stay the night in one bungalow and occupied all the beds - so we sort of had some privacy. Room setup was two sets of bunk beds and one queen or possibly king sized bed. The larger bed, however, was a strange pull-out mattress normally tucked against the wall somehow. The apparatus that held the mattress vertical against the wall remained directly above you, so sleeping on the bed required you to stare up a metal contraption that looked like it could possibly fall down on you and kill you. Sort of uneasy. Beneath the mattress, no one had bothered to clean up a variety of trash that had been left behind by who knows how many guests. Other than that, the sheets were spotless and the floors were clean. The bathroom was clean and the amenities were very nice. I definitely have to give them credit that it was a very nice experience, just that a few details they need to work on. read more

The owner is a disgrace of one to run this place. He is extremely manipulative and belittled all of my concerns. I checked in here around midnight only to find I had a different room blood stains on the wall, black mold on my window, boogers on my comforter, and the floors were filthy. My room was never offered to be cleaned once nor was I ever checked on to see if I need to towels or toilet paper. Also we book single room dorm beds and we're charge for the private room service fee. No wifi in room. Sink doesn't have hot water. This place has never once had a deep cleaning. The ceiling outside of our door was also leaking. Also no deadbolt on door, as if I'm supposed to trust their "security". Truly find somewhere else for your money. read more

I went to NYAH with a friend because we were driving down to Key West and wanted to stay downtown in an affordable hotel. We weren't expecting much and were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It's modern and sleek. Our room had a lot of space and the bathroom was rather large. The A/C and fan worked really well to cool the room off and help us sleep. We loved having a drink on the porch at the end of the day. And it was very nice that there was a continental breakfast to start the day. I would have loved to stay here another night! read more

We had so much fun here! Loved the summer camp vibe of the bunk beds and the wonderfully shady pool. Very fun, party atmosphere during the weekend and relaxing during the week. Perfect location, we walked to duval every day and took the short drive to fort zachary beach (about 10 min max). Room was a little small but we made it work and all 6 of us agreed we would definitely keep coming back here. Beds were so comfortable and we really appreciated the individual locker style closets and charging stations at each bed. Could have used some bedside tables and a mini fridge but we just kept refilling our coolers with the provided ice to keep things chilled. read more

We stayed here for my friend's bachelorette party, and it was the perfect fit for that kind of group. The room set up was perfect - we had two rooms with three people in each room. The facilities are very updated and clean. There is some noise from other groups and the walls are pretty thin, but that is to be expected with this kind of hotel and older buildings. The pool areas are great - plenty of space for everyone. The only reason that I do not give it 5 stars is because of the service. We were guaranteed rooms next to each other or very close, but we ended up with two across the entire compound, despite calling multiple times prior to our trip to confirm that we'd be close. All in all, if you are looking for a large group friendly hotel within walking distance to all the great restaurants and bars, this is a great option. read more

Never staying here again. I've never felt so harassed in my life. I was looking forward to enjoying a nice vacation with my friends but instead it's been a dramatic ordeal since we've arrived. We have not bothered anyone but we've been told "WE HAVE TO GO BACK TO OUR ROOMS" by a security guard who has been harassing us since we arrived. This place is a rip off. The rooms we had were absolutely not in accordance with the pictures and the website. Thank you photoshop and "instagram style" filters! You will be lucky If u have the chance to get a room where u have enough space to open ur luggage. The rooms are very humid (which I can of course understand in the keys) and smell like moist. The rooms are quite clean, but dont check under the beds...! Also, try to get a room where you dont have neighbors above you.... The shower pressure is close to zero. The cover of the toilets "wobbles". The handle of the shower "wobbles". Everything "wobbles".... The breakfast is not even "Average", except the Orange juice. The "snack" is just a marketing trick like this guys playing the "three-card trick" in some places in Paris or Rome... The staff is unprofessional, arrogant and impolite, especially Anastasia. For more than 350$ the night... you will have to be happy with the hot jacuzzi and the vegetation. read more

We were quite disappointed with this place. It's supposedly a hotel, but it should be categorized as a hostel. Everything in the room is cheap, as if it's a hostel or dorm. All the beds are folding beds / bunk beds, super low water pressure, cheap flooring, and the list goes on. read more

First, the pros: 1. This is an "upscale" hostel-type hotel with private bathrooms in each room (no community bathrooms) and they can flex the number of people who can stay in a room up to 6 people. Bunk beds! 2. The staff is VERY friendly, down-to-earth, and quick to help with anything from restaurant recommendations, cheap bike rentals, or even a busted fridge or soap dispenser. It seems like it's a fairly small staff, so in our experience they were eager to follow-up on any requests/complaints to make sure we were taken care of. 3. There are so many pools/hot tubs! And they stay open til 9pm! One of the hot tubs is more like a "warm tub" and is filled with bath-temp water - perfect for a late evening dip when the sun's gone down! Now the cons: 1. If you are expecting to get any sleep, don't. The doors to the rooms have zero sound barrier and the bars stay open until about 4am. What does this translate to? Being woken up throughout the night while rowdy groups leave for the bars around midnight and then return to "post-game" by the pool at 4am. We actually had to complain about the noise that was occurring because we slept so poorly. On the plus side, the staff took our complaint seriously and warned the night staff that the pool area was getting too loud at night and to please keep an eye/police the area for people who might be disturbing the peace. One night we heard an entire group of women jump into the pool, literally screeching with glee at about 2am. Within 5min we heard a staff member kicking them out and reminding them about the quiet hours. 2. While the rooms are clean, I can't say it's the cleanest place I've stayed, but it's an old building that's been renovated. Our room had a weird beet-smell and the corners of our shower had mold/mildew in the grout (expected in a place where the humidity is 150% year-round). We were given fresh towels daily, but our linens weren't changed while we were there for 5 days. I know, save the environment! Overall, I recommend this place for the young crowd who is vacationing in key west to party. For anyone who expects sleep, find another place. read more

I stayed at the NYAH on my spring break a few weeks ago. NYAH provided a complimentary water station located in the lobby. Let me be the first to say, the cups that they provide are SO SMALL. I literally had to refill my cup 4-5 times each time just so I would not be so parched. I mean, they give the patrons the same cups that dentist gives you when you need to rinse your mouth out after they clean your teeth. The cups provided could not hold more than 3 or 4 fluid ounces which was a huge let down. It was crazy, people can easily get dehydrated so I was not too happy about the cup size. My recommendation, BRING YOUR OWN CUPS (BYOC) because if you are a normal person, these small infant size cups are not going to cut it. That being said, the staff was a pleasure, the beds were very clean, the pools were warm, and overall did not mind the NYAH. read more

Check the sheets before you get into bed. We didn't and when we woke in the morning and it was light, show the dirty disgusting sheets we slept on. Went to the office with our photos and another couple complaining about the same thing.. Guess the resort fee of $29 a night doesn't include clean sheets, or hot water, or working hot tub!!! My two moms and I wanted to do an overnight girls trip and found NYAH online and it was the right price. We didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They gave us the keys to our room and off we went! After passing through a very clean lobby, we found ourselves in front of 3 pools, where everyone was relaxing. Our room was superbly clean and had space for 6! The room had bunks and the beds were so comfortable! The bathroom had a huge shower and again was so clean! They had a continental breakfast available which was satisfying! We will definitely be returning next year! Thank you! read more

This is the worst.... I repeat... The WORST hotel I have ever stayed at. We stayed in the room in the lobby. Which I was informed by multiple people, including hotel staff, that it was a noisy room because it was in the lobby. I had no problem with potential noisiness considering we would only be there for one night and were not going to be spending much time in the room and also leaving early in the morning. Upon arriving I watched the front desk go over a long speech including important information such as check out time, happy hour in the lobby, and breakfast time. I figured he would go over all the same info with me so didn't pay full attention. He did not. The chairs in the lobby are also poorly recovered chairs with pink shams over them. That should have been my first clue. We get our key and have to ask where the room is... Since the front desk worker said literally absolutely nothing to me besides handing me my room key and assisting us with checking out bikes. Then we entered the room. The room had 4 bed attached to the wall in a hostile or bunk bed type. Very small. Which neither of those things are ever an issue. The SMELL was overwhelming! Next to one of the beds was a stain on the floor as if someone had thrown up and they could never fully get rid of the stain it left. UNDER ONE OF THE BEDS was a empty cup with spilt liquid all over the floor that had been left by the previous guest. (Picture included) The shower had dirty grout with hair still on the wall from the last people that had stayed there. And to think I was spending $175 to stay there for one night. They should have been paying me. It happened to be a very busy weekend in key west at the time so I could not find any other rooms on such late notice. While checking out in the morning a tinny little roach ran across the floor reassuring us that this is actually a room from hell. Needless to say. I will never be staying at this place again. I do NOT understand how they have such good reviews from other people. The scent from that room still lingers in my luggage. It was the worst experience I have ever had. read more

The staff was absurd. I worked at a hotel for 2 years, and at NYAH the service is extremely rude and not helpful at all. I would have rather had a robot helping me than having to interact with the staff at the front desk. That being said, the hotel was a nice getaway with 2 hot tubs and 3 pools. I enjoyed my time in Key West, but will never forget how ridiculous the front desk staff was. The cleaning crew was great and very friendly. Also, they are constantly walking around the hotel to make sure you have a wristband on all day, which was pretty creepy. Cool place but don't expect cups bigger than your index finger or help from the front desk. read more

This is a very nice place to stay, in fact I went for the second time this year, but this time the staff was very unhelpful and rude. They claim to accommodate your needs, but gave us whatever was left when checking in late despite my phone e call to request certain accommodations. The hotel offers no parking assistance and the evening staff member was very rude and condescending. I would rate their hospitality as a 2, and they do not go out of their way to make you comfortable there. We had to ask for toiletries and towels, no room service for 2 days!!! Very happy with my experience at NYAH Hotel! Great and very convenient location! Literally 7 minute away walking to Duval St. The reaction of the gentlemen at the front desk when he saw me with my emotional support dog was not the best, considering that the first thing he said after saying hello was (we don't allow dogs in the Hotel) instead of ask for my dog emotional support ID first or any other identification regarding the access of pets to a establishment. But once he saw the ID he was very nice. The environment outside at the pool was fantastic! The breakfast was great with different variety and everything was fresh. Our room was nice and cool! Bed was comfy. Bathroom was a bit dirty, there was hair on the floor and also at the shower. I didn't like it but it was not a big deal, we stayed only for one night. Also what disturbed me was the guests on the room next to us! They were too loud screaming in the middle of the night at 2 and 3am. At the time of the check out everything went smooth and fast. Good location and a nice pool area, but that's about it for positives. After an extremely long drive we arrived to the front desk to check in. The concierge did not greet us in a professional manor. We didn't even receive a "hello" or "welcome" and the male working the counter made it extremely awkward. In the hospitality industry it is defiantly recommend to have strong social and communication skills in which this person did not. He slouched and immediately complained that it was "one of those days". Well, it was "one of those days" for my friends and I as we drove 20+ hours to get there. We should not be expected to have sympathy for poor customer service when we are there to vacation. The breakfast is false advertised, it sits outside when yet there are two tables inside the lobby that no one uses. I went to pour a bowl or cereal and since the milk sits outside it was gross and warm. "Don't cry over spilt milk" they say, well I'm sure the employees at the front desk would cry over something even more minuscule than that. read more

Odd hotel - more like a hostel . Really pretty on the outside but rooms lack a lot . My room merely had a couple sets of bunk beds and a few lockers . Our room did have wall nooks for usb phone charging, which I found odd for such a simple room . The courtyard is beautiful ! There are 2 pools and a hot tub for you to enjoy . It feels more like a boutique resort on the outside and like a dorm on the inside. The ability to pile in the people to split room fees with all the bunk beds is a plus though . For Key West lodging close to the strip -it's the cheaper way to go. I suppose the amenities and location are a trade off for the lack luster rooms. I'd stay there again for the price . read more

If you're looking for a great time with friends DO NOT STAY HERE. The staff was very unfriendly and incapable of doing their job (except for the lady at the front desk with pretty eyes). Rules as if you were in a retirement home. Pretty much no noise aloud after the sun sets, rooms the size of a lunch box, terrible bar. Which isn't even a bar, its the end of their check in desk which is stocked with a whopping 3 bottles of alcohol. Showers the size of toy cars and no room service. After a 4 hour drive we were delighted to be stuck in the lobby with another group because the only employee on site was not able to give out room keys.A total waste of $1100 for 3 nights in "king loft suite". Only real complaint is the wifi either doesn't work or is very very slow. Mix of classic and modern amenities, but for example while they have a starbucks coffee maker in the lobby, the room didn't have a towel rack, fridge, or recycling.
