A family friend (who ran 10+ marathons) recommended Total Strive Wellness and Dr. Tiffany and my experiences so far have nothing but spectacular! I saw Dr. Tiffany Gunawardena and her colleagues, Dr. Michael Natal, Dr. Zhang, and have had massages from Christina and Zach for about two months. During my first session, someone from the front desk explained to me how my insurance works. After that, each session was a combo of chiropractic care with either massage, acupuncture and or PT as I progress in my journey. One thing I notice and appreciate the most is that the doctors have their share of/personal experiences with pain before. Since I walk slowly because my knees & my back I came early . I ringed their doorbell a Message with Connie's voice said they wouldn't be open till 3 pm . I called them while in the foyer of the Building & got the same information from their answering machine with Connie's voice . I walked home because I believe they were closed till 3 pm & Connie called me immediately telling I was late ??? And I had to return or pay a fee cancellation . Saw Katie for 10 minutes for PT that day . 3rd) Katie Pt knew my knees were horrible they'd pop & crack all the time & I went there for Back pain . Last time she made do an exercise that totally screwed up Right Knee . I had to sit on a chair and hold dumbbell over my head with both arms . My right knee popped & it as killing with pain . She asked to do it again ( honestly I forget if did again because I was in so much knee pain ) ? I came due to chronic pain in foot and leg that I had been tolerating for years but had got to the point of being painful to walk, and would even wake me up during the night. I'd talked with my PCP, and seen a podiatrist and also a physiotherapist and none of them had been able to help me. I had seen a chiropractor for some neck issues ~15 years ago and from that experience I found it was a coin flip if they helped, sometimes I would leave an adjustment feeling better, and sometimes worse. This office has been a totally different experience. Prior to the adjustment they spend time making sure that the area is relaxed as possible (using massage etc) before making the adjustment. As I've been figuring out my schedule I've seen two people here for chiropractor adjustment and two people for physiotherapy and all four have been equally amazing. What I appreciate about this office is the focus on finding and treating the root cause of pain, and not just treating the surface symptoms. When I come in for a session they can quickly identify the problem areas, and have specific techniques to help target those areas. I've also been surprised to learn how connected muscles and ligaments in the body are. I can have pain in one area, and focusing on a different area I can feel the muscles relax. I also appreciate that when something isn't working, they work to figure out alternatives that will work for your specific situation. After just a 30 minute session I feel like I've had a good workout and feel like I'm standing taller and stronger. I've only been coming for a short time, but already my pain is GREATLY reduced and I feel optimistic about future improvements. The office is tidy organized and nicely decorated, the admin staff are also great (I often get welcomed by name when I come in) and they are flexible for helping out with changes in schedule etc. This office is actually out of network for my insurance, but my copay works out about the same as the in-network PT I saw a couple years ago.
