I saw Dr. Kuang yesterday, and I am so glad I did. I've been having issues with my upper back for over a year. I also recently had surgery in my foot, where they re-aligned a bone with two screws. Dr. Kuang didn't just focus on my back. He looked at every joint and how they were impacting one another. He noticed one leg is longer than the other, and that's because one hip is higher than the other (likely to compensate for the pain in my left foot after the surgery). He then proceeded to crack and pull (I don't know the proper terms for this). It was incredible. Before COVID, I went for bi-weekly massages for help with the pain. My one session with Dr. Kuang made me feel better than any massage. He taught me some exercises and once they're allowed to do massages, I can get them done there. Also, when he sent me an email of exercises, I noticed in his signature that he has a blog about pain management (http://drgordonkuang.blogspot.com/). Dr. Peterson is a life saver. I have fibromyalgia and have tried a lot of different kinds of treatment, and most providers (especially physical therapists) have just ended up injuring me. Dr. Peterson is very well educated about fibromyalgia and consistently provides relief for joint, muscular, and myofascial pain. He uses a combination of chiropractic techniques/realignment and e stim on trigger points. He also offers lifestyle/posture advice for pain reduction as well some stretches and strengthening movements. I feel strongly that he absolutely cares about my well-being and I really trust him. I have other friends who have gone for short-term issues and quickly recover with him; since I have a chronic issue, I have to go pretty regularly, but when my health improves they always reduce how often I come in (and increase if I have a backslide). What I'm saying is, I know chiropractors have a bad reputation for just wanting your money but that couldn't be farther from the truth at Peterson Chiropractic. The whole team wants the patients to heal above all else. After many years seeking relief for my chronic pain, I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Peterson. I'll also add, I'm a woman with PTSD and can get a little nervous with men providing any kind of bodywork -- you just never know when someone will turn out to be a creep. I thoroughly trust Dr. Peterson and feel at ease with him every time I come in. The admin and billing teams are awesome! They are very friendly and easy to reach (I iMessage with them). We've had miscommunications about billing before and they are always patient about it. Back before COVID they would have little themed parties for holidays and invite patients to join them for snacks in the back room. It was so sweet. (They go all out decorating the office for every holiday.) Billing is a little confusing. I'm out of network but they bill my insurance, which sends me partial reimbursements, and then I give those checks to them. I get some weird explanation of benefits from my insurance saying I owe a lot of money that I don't end up owing? I don't really understand the system but it means that, aside from a $250 deductible at the beginning of the year (payable with FSA), I don't have to pay for anything. This has led to some confusion in the past since I get paid by my insurance and then use that to pay them, and I can see how others might have issues with the system since it's definitely a bit convoluted, but it works for me and means treatment is very affordable. I found Dr. Peterson via a recommendation from a friend and I've sent multiple friends and coworkers his way as well. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough! read more

Buyer Beware!! Never have I experienced such rudeness and all around incompetence from receptionist/booking. They booked me at the wrong location I didn't find out until I was there at a different office (wasted a morning I had taken time off for), was told to make another appointment, so I did.. When i went to call to confirm that booking the day of, they told me they didn't have any record of this appointment. They called me 2 days later to let me know I wasn't allowed to make any future appointments and hung up on me. Unhelpful, unapologetic, rude and plain unprofessional. I was lucky enough to find Dr. Peterson through LivingSocial, where I got a free consultation and 30-minute massage. Not only did I get one of the best massages of my life, but Dr. Peterson was incredibly personable, knowledgable, and really took the time to figure out what my issues were. I felt listened to, cared for, and incredibly relaxed by the end of the visit. The office is pleasant, the front desk is friendly, and Dr. Peterson generously waived my $5 co-pay. Dr. Peterson came to my rescue! When I first came to his office I was having sudden spasms in my right knee that made it difficult to walk or put any weight on. Any one who lives in New York know you don't get far if you can't walk! Dr. Peterson was more than sympathetic. My knee symptom came on suddenly with no acute cause. I had my suspicions having a career which requires a lot of sitting. Dr Peterson was able to alleviate the symptoms and identify the larger issues surrounding my knee, back pain and misaligned hips. He went over a course of treatment and thorough explanations of the causes and purposed fixes for me long term. I have been visiting his office for ongoing care and structural alignment for a year or so now and have had nothing but the most caring treatment. I've been to many chiropractors and Dr. Peterson is one of the best. He focus on your problems and provide tips on how change certain habits and how to stretch out the knots. Dr. Peterson is positive, friendly, and flexible with appointment scheduling. A year and a half ago, my lower back was in so much pain that I can barely sit up or walk. I was worried since I had to leave the country to travel. Luckily I was able to make a last minute appointment with him on a Saturday and after that visit I was able to walk out fine. He literally made me feel from a 3 to a 9 (scale of 1-10) and pointed out a misalignment that needed to be fix. read more

Title: Chiro visit was fine/ Billing ruined the experience The Office Wait time: Excellent; save for 1 apt, never had to wait for more than a few minutes. Front desk: During my appointments, staff was friendly and always greeted me when I walked in. Doctor: I saw Dr. Kuang. He was friendly and seemed knowledgeable, though the appointments seemed rushed and he spoke quite fast The Billing I visited the office six times and was overcharged on my up-front copay during each visit. Furthermore, the associated claims were filed so late that my co-insurance kicked in to cover parts of the bill (which I had already paid upfront). When I inquired about a refund, I was referred to the billing office (BO) - Healthcare Analytics - which was run by an extremely unprofessional woman in an out of state location. This kicked off a 7 month process of mishaps, dozens of ignored messages and generally unacceptable professional conduct. a) First, she sent the insurance claims to the wrong insurer. After a month of confusion, the incorrect insurance company had to step in and guide her to send the claims to the correct insurer. b) Second, she did not understand the insurance company's explanation of benefits (EOBs) so was unable to understand that I was overcharged for each visit. c) Third, she sent me an incorrect refund calculation that had both factual and logic errors in it. Not only did the calculation not make sense, it included outdated insurance figures that she refused to update even though I pointed out they were outdated. Despite my multitude of follow-ups explaining the errors, she refused to make any changes. d) Fourth, after months of this back and forth, and with no resolution, the billing office would reply with abrupt responses or stopped responding to me altogether. I called and left voicemails that for the most part were not returned. When I did get through, I was told she would "look into it and get back to me". She never did. I would email and wait weeks... sometimes over a month... to receive a response. Each response contained generally unfulfilled promises to look into the matter with little actual follow-up. What was most confusing and frustrating part of this seven month period was that this was not a time consuming or difficult problem to solve. After 3.5 months of waiting, I finally received a message from the BO with another incorrect refund calculation and was told that this was the "final word" on the matter. The following events occurred over the next 45 minutes: I immediately called my insurance company, my insurance company called the BO to walk her through the calculations, and then the BO sent a new email agreeing to refund amount I had been requesting over the past several months. All it took was a matter of minutes - so frustrating!!! Even after the BO approved the refund amount, it took another 4 weeks and multiple chases before the BO finally told me how to get the refund check (the doctor's office would write a check). This is just another example of something stretching on for an absurdly long time when it could have been handled in minutes. To be blunt, the service from the BO was completely unprofessional... and I told the BO and Chiro office this on multiple occasions. Despite my complaints, I never once received an apology ... nor any recognition of my frustration... and no one offered to intervene / assist. I did reach out to Dr. Peterson (as owner) on a number of occasions for assistance, but he never got back to me (and one time point blank refused to meet with me when I visited the office and offered to wait to see him). As the BO is inextricably linked to the chiro practice, the abysmal and unprofessional service I received (compounded by the lack of interest in the chiro office to assist in this dilemma) heavily colored my experience at the practice and therefore I cannot recommend it. read more

I've only been coming here for a few weeks but Peterson Chiropractic already feels like family! Dr. Gordon is incredibly kind and makes you feel very comfortable and well taken care of. He gave me an ice pack and tennis ball to use to work on my back at home, and lots of advice on how to take care of myself outside of the office. I physically feel better, and have since day one. Everyone at reception is super sweet, remembers your name quickly, and follows up with you. Plus I've never waited for care like I have at other doctors' offices. I'm a PT patient and my doctor is Gintanjali Ranjit. I picked her because of her good ratings on zocdoc. She is indeed great, caring and very knowledgeable. Peterson is a very friendly environment, you can see that the staff is happy and it reflects to the patients. Receptionists are very kind and helpful (and they learned my name from the first day ). Well payed Insurance scam. Beware. I was billed for $725 for one visit after I asked if the office was in network with my insurance, blue cross and was told I only had a $25 copay. A month after I get a claim from my insurance asking $725 for one visit at Peterson's with a "detailed" bill adding for one visit $265, $200 $150 and $110!! For what exactly? Looking at my MRI and cracking my bones in 10 minutes. No wonder the office was eager tot get me back and called and harassed me every week to ask if I wanted another appointment. read more

I started seeing Dr. Peterson in 2016 for shoulder and neck pain caused by my job. I spend hours sketching at a computer and it had finally taken its toll. I love the staff, they are very helpful and accommodating. Dr. Peterson is very professional and was a life saver! In addition to adjusting my shoulder and neck Dr. P also did a head to toe adjustment to help with other minor aches and pains. Whenever I start to have any pain, tightness, or migraines I immediately make an appointment. I've never had an issue with scheduling. Completely unaccommodating and arrogant I received a recommendation from a previous out-of-state chiropractor who found Dr. Peterson on a chiropractic network. When I made the appointment they were very prompt. When I had a busy work week I called to reschedule and they were able to see me the next day. That being said, I still had a full work load before the holiday weekend. I asked my manager to leave work early so I could make the appointment. I was running late and the office called asking if I was coming. I said I was on my way and profusely apologized. As I was in front of the office I got another call saying that because I was late Dr. Peterson wouldn't see me. I explained that I was outside and was told that didn't matter. I asked to speak to the doctor and the receptionist said he was with a patient and couldn't talk. So I walked inside and suddenly he had the time to insult me to my face and tell me that I was wasting his time. I understand I was at fault being late but he acted as if he didn't want to help me as his new patient. He was so flippant and seemed completely uninterested in me - something up don't want in a Doctor. His staff was chuckling watching the encounter which made me feel even more insecure. When I was attempting to reschedule the receptionist had a major attitude and I realized that as a customer and patient I did not need to be treated so disrespectfully. I started feeling better within the first couple of adjustments (my neck and upper back muscles were so tight that it was pulling on my vertebrae which led to misalignment). After exchanging words I just paid and left. The adjustment wasn't even all that good. They sell you this deal because they're crooks and no one would go to them otherwise. Make sure you are actually getting an appointment with this doctor!!! I was impressed by the reviews, called and asked for an appointment, then provided my insurance details. I received a call within minutes to say that I was "all set" for an appointment the following day. Super!! Unfortunately when I was checking, in I overheard another patient being told that Dr Peterson was out sick. I said that I had specifically requested an appointment with him. Apparently he is not in my insurers' network and I had been booked with another doctor. No one had bothered to tell me this - not the person making the appointment or the person checking me in. If you're relying on reviews of this doctor, make sure the receptionist is 100% clear that you will see him. Otherwise all your Yelp research is wasted and your enthusiasm for meeting such a highly recommended doctor is pointless. read more

I got a lifebooker deal for a massage + chiropractic session. I had a back and neck pain that begged to just get taken look at. First time going to a chiropractor and my experience was great! Came late for the massage by almost 10 mins, but was still let in. Make note not to be late by over 15 mins because you'll lose the massage or would have to come another day just for it. My body was stiff and the massage helped me unwound. Next I had a session with the chirporactor, Dr. Louis. He was very friendly and explained why I was experiencing pain. He cracked my body at 3 places (my bones responded with a loud pop sound each time), and he explained that it's been built time over time but that should be the worst of it - but I didn't feel any pain at all and felt great afterwards. He gave me instructions for easy at-home exercises. Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Louis! read more

Dr Peterson was put on this earth to be a Chiropractor. I've been treated by several chiropractors in the past and Dr Peterson is by far the best. As an attorney, i am very sensitized to the fact that licensed attorneys all get a similar education, degree, and pass the bar exam, but there is a wide divide between the best and the worst lawyers. I literally just got back to my office from seeing Dr. Peterson... and boy am I happy with my visit! So happy that I was compelled to write this review ASAP. After visiting four different chiropractors over the past 10 years regarding the same issue (hip not straight, one leg slightly shorter as a result), Dr. Peterson did wonders in fixing this with one visit. After checking my back / hip bone placement and my legs, he let me know that one of my legs was misaligned from walking flat-footed for all these years, which resulted in my hip being turned slightly one way. Rather than tell me some BS about having to visit multiple times to fix this, he pushed the bones back in its rightful place without any pain... both my hip and my knee. I have been going to Dr. Peterson's Chiropractic practice for a year now. I think he is by far the best chiropractor I've had who always listens to my concerns and fixes my problem areas. He knew I had a tension on my right side right away, and we've been focusing on that for a while now. Took the advise from a friend and made a appointment to see Dr. Peterson.. I called and the receptionist I spoke with was friendly, polite, and professional.. She answered all my questions efficiently and took the time I feel was needed to make the appointment fit my schedule.. I arrived and was greeted by the same receptionist (same voice as when I called) and she made me feel like a long time client. Dr. Peterson came out to greet me in under 5 min and was also friendly, polite, and professional.. truthfully speaking... lol.. it took me by surprise. He led me to a room that was clean and relaxing.. He took his time to ask about what was bothering me, and pointed out habits, I had that at the time, that I didn't realize was actually hurting me. After Dr. Peterson worked his magic, he gave me tips and tricks on how to keep the treatments working at home to speed up and maintain my recovery... I believe Dr. Peterson is truly about the patient and shows genuine concern and compassion for those under his care.. After I was done I went back to reception to create another appointment and was greeted with smiles and patience once again.. Professional through and through I give Dr. Peterson and his staff my highest praise and gratitude.. From the first phone call, to when I walked out the door, I was more than satisfied and feeling great after months of back and neck pain... I bought a groupon coupon on line, meet w Dr. Peterson, it was fine. I purchased two more groupon's ( the only could afford the service) made the appt., told them I had a groupon, been there before w a groupon, when checking in they told they could not accept the coupon, only vaild for one appt., it was in the fine print. Yes, it is the very fine print, why was I not told on the phone? Perhaps they should have made the print in bold instead of fine print. I've been to several chiropractors over the years for my scoliosis and knew what to expect during treatment but he introduced new concepts and relationships of what could be causing my pain just by looking at my posture! His adjustments gave me tremendous relief. He prescribed exercises and lessons in biomechanics to lessen strain and improve overall well-being. Michelle gave me a much needed 30 minute massage... she's great! Awesome energy, professional and has an efficient and skilled touch! I'm also a licensed massage therapist so I'm very particular. I redeemed a Living Social deal for a massage and a chiropractic consultation. The masseuse was nothing special, but I was really impressed with Dr. Peterson. I play a lot of guitar and am active (surfing, gym, etc.), so I have some occasional issues with my back and shoulders. Peterson was very helpful and attentive in getting me balanced and keeping me that way. Lots of good, straight-forward advice. He also didn't try to sell me on coming back. He just gave me some exercises to do and some tips and sent me on my way, telling me I'm in good shape and can stay that way without a return visit. Before finding Dr. Peterson, I was completely biased against chiropractors because of a prior negative experience with a chiropractor whose primary goal was to get me to make as many visits as possible so he could line his pockets. That chiropractor also failed to inform me about a serious condition I had, which no doubt he was aware of based on my x-rays. So I was skeptical to say the least. But when I got a Lifebooker promotion for a free massage and consultation with Peterson Chiropractic, I figured, what the heck! And I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Peterson has the BEST bedside manners of any doctor I have ever met. He is the text-book definition of a kind, caring and compassionate doctor. My previous chiropractor spent a maximum of 10 minutes with me during each visit, never asked me anything about what was bothering me on a particular day, and never seemed interested. Dr. Peterson, by contrast, is very generous with his time. He knows every detail about my condition, does not give me guilt trips if I fail to keep up with therapy, and gives advice in the context of real world obstacles to maintaining optimum health. And with him, it is not about the money as he has cut me a lot of slack when I have had issues with insurance. I'd recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat. Horrible service and false advertising! I purchased a Groupon and tried to make an appointment online yesterday and got one for 7pm however I received a call from a different branch of the business saying that for Groupons I have to make the appointment via phone and not online and so I called the appropriate office. I was told that the Groupon is only valid for appointments until 4pm, even though it says NOWHERE on the Groupon or Fine Print that there are time or appointment restrictions. I work until 6pm and cannot make that time so if I had been made aware of this correctly I would never have purchased the Groupon. When I told the receptionist that I cannot make that time she started getting incredibly rude and disrespectful, saying its not their problem that the time restrictions werent displayed on the Groupon and that if I wanted to know them I should have called, and eventually saying "Well I cant help you" and then hanging up the phone while I was talking. I had been in the middle of trying to make a lunch time appointment when she hung up and after I called back and tried a second time she continued to be rude, saying that if I cant make its my problem and theres nothing she can do without even listening that I was trying to make an appointment for a different time. I am incredibly upset at this horrible service. Not only was the Groupon misleading and offered false advertising by not mentioning the restrictions whatsoever but the rudeness of the receptionist is unacceptable. read more
