I do one particular event every year, it's the final party after 3 days of partying for about 300 guests of varying ages, ethnicities and regional locations...and its great every year...and over the years we've used a variety of the "best" DJs in Los Angeles. But this year, our final party was over the top fantastic. You are, hands-down, the BEST DJ we have ever had in four years of multiple events and parties. I have to agree with the other review, Danny made our wedding amazing! He was a fantastic referral from our coordinator, and after just one conference call, my husband and I knew we had our guy. My husband took the reigns on this aspect and sent a long list of songs that we wanted to hear, Danny already had all of them and really translated the fun modern vibe that we wanted to have for our celebration. The cocktail/dinner music was upbeat but not distracting. And he knew what to play when to get and keep everyone dancing and having a fantastic time. I lost count of all of the compliments on the DJ from our guests. Danny was fantastic to work with through the entire process and didn't bat an eye when we might have been asking for a lot. Danny is fantastic. We hired him for our daughters Bat Mitzvah and are so happy with our decision. He knows music, is technologically up to date, will not give you the hard sell, and is so easy to work with. I found him to be most calming when the pre-party jitters set in. At the event he managed to keep everyone entertained but was never in your face. His has great instinct and knows how to work the room. Added bonus- he can really dance! The kids loved him and my daughter was thrilled. People of all ages enjoyed the vibe he created. Danny and Lonnie ended up staying an hour longer than planned. DJ DANNY FARRELL...what can I say, this guy was SO great, he deserves extra stars especially for dealing with me while I was wedding planning. NYC DJ's was actually the first wedding vendor that we had booked, even before our wedding venue. We saw his work and knew that he would be a great fit with us! He's natural, funny, not at all a cheeseball and had great communication. He also helped me book some live classical musicians for our cocktail hour and provided us with a projector. I am a very particular person and made a long list of must play songs and the transitions of all the songs, the wedding formalities was just flawless. Everyone loved our music and DJ Danny. It was really easy communicating with Danny for the 10 months to the wedding day. The day of, was just better than I could have asked for...Danny would come to us in terms of timing and asking us when we wanted to do certain things...we had a timeline that he had helped us come up with during a meeting a couple weeks before the wedding and all was executed as planned. It was really nice that he kept us in the loop for things and was able to roll with anything...if we needed another 5-10 minutes at any time, he was able to keep the music going. The light work they did was also awesome as well. My husband wanted the dance floor to turn into a club scene and it definitely set the vibe for a night of dancing. The up lights helped enhance the ballroom and it was nice that he had the light colors change as we progressed through the night. So happy with our choice to have Danny as our DJ/MC. We hired Danny from NYC DJs for our recent wedding and we are super pleased that we did! We had a pretty small wedding (about 60 people) and we didn't want someone to be overbearing and obnoxious but we also wanted someone who would keep the energy going with such a small crowd. Danny was excellent! Super professional, polite, funny, relaxed and a natural at what he does. He made sure we had all our song choices picked out and ready to go in time for wedding (trust me, you'll be surprised how many songs you need to pick for different parts of the wedding! Wouldn't have known without Danny's prompting!) and everything was perfectly cued and executed the day of! Danny emceed the wedding as well and really helped keep things running smoothly. Danny/NYC DJs was fantastic to work with from start to finish. From our very first meeting we could tell that Danny had terrific instincts for how to DJ and Emcee a great party. He understood what we were looking for and delivered. We couldn't have been any happier with him. As part of our RSVPs we gathered song requests from our guests, and he played every single song. Every one! He even played a Danish song that our guests from Denmark requested. He expertly understood how to arrange the playlist to keep people energized and dancing. The wedding was three weeks ago and guests are still telling me how much they loved the wedding - especially the music. Danny came highly recommended from our friends, who had him as a DJ at their wedding. He was fantastic. Our venue was large and had multiple locations that needed music, Danny and his assistant handled all of it flawlessly. He took our odd requests-such as the processional song being the Ghostbuster's Theme Song- and some of our guests song choices, and rolled with it. He honored our requests-we told him guests could request music but we specifically asked for a certain type of rap to not be played and he handled it beautifully when guests would ask for that type of music. My husband and I had Danny dj for us in our wedding last year (8.8.14), and he was. . . BEYOND GREAT. I was searching for a dj for weeks without any real direction. Luckily I eventually stumbled onto Danny on The Knot and I also checked with his reviews here and from what I could tell everybody raved about his work. So I contacted Danny and he was really helpful. My husband and I are both attending school so our weekends were the only available times. He was very flexible in scheduling meeting times with us, and really listened to our concerns. One of them being the financial aspect as we were on a tight budget and did not want to break the bank before we even start our lives together. For what we paid for he was much more than that, probably one of the best deals we made in the wedding process. Our other concern was the music content, we had guests of all ages with the majority being in their late 20s early 30s. We worried about music being appropriate and Danny met that challenge with great ease. After the wedding everyone was raving about the song selection and how they typically can't really dance at functions because of the genres or they don't feel comfortable dancing but that was not the issue here. Lastly most of our venders only really communicated with us during the wedding whereas Danny kept us well informed throughout the process. He even edited our first dance song, making it uniquely ours! The day of he really kept control of the scheduling which allowed for my husband and I to relax knowing things were being handled. He also commanded attention when dealing with our wedding attendants as they tended to wander without regard, in other words he really took the reigns when it came to the reception. I highly recommend him for someone working on a budget and for someone who really wants to adhere to organized planning. Look no further this is the DJ that goes above and beyond. read more

Danny did a great job at our wedding! To be honest, I was so mesmerized by so many things that I couldn't tell you all of the songs he played that day, but what I can tell you is that the dance floor was PACKED. All night. To the point where I probably should've been in a venue with a larger dance floor. He did a great job getting the crowd excited, all night there were screams and shouts coming from all sides of the room. He worked with my coordinator and made a game-time decision to post-pone the end parts of the wedding as the crowd was way too excited to dance and he didn't want it to die down with a huge break in momentum. He really has a special talent and was not at all over-bearing either that night or during the planning. He was a great MC, didn't speak too much, nor too little! He laughed and got everyone else laughing, he was really all in that day and I have the most wonderful memories of that night because of this. My only regret is that the wedding couldn't last 3-4 more hours, because with the momentum in that room I really think it could have! read more

I'm writing this review at nearly 3am on my wedding day because I want to thank Danny for everything one more time. He showed up early to the event to set up for our booked reception service and even rescued our cocktail with wonderful tunes without being asked! He is so charismatic and chill. He took every last-minute changes and requests with great stride. When we spoke a couple days before the wedding, he even gave us suggestions for how to best manage the flow of the evening that even my wedding coordinators didn't think of. He is truly the master of the night. He knows when the crowd needs a little nudge and preempts it. My wedding had no alcohol except for champagne toasts. According to my videographer, it was the most amped up wedding and dancing he's ever seen at a dry wedding. Everyone was sober and having a great time because Danny played all of our favorite songs at all the right times! Not to mention he provided the projector for our slideshow and brought the coolest dance lighting. His prices are so reasonable. Thank you so much, Danny. You really made our wedding night!! Danny is a SUPER nice guy, very responsive, easygoing and fun to have around. He was absolutely fantastic - not just a good DJ with a spot-on sense of pacing and fun, but a genuinely additive presence whose great attitude made him a joy to be around. Requiring minimal direction, he perfectly captured just the right atmosphere and kept it going until party's end. We received compliments from so many of our guests - in praise of both his playlist (which was great) and his skill at seamless transitions. The photos from the wedding are physical proof of the fun everyone had dancing! ***Danny also did our wedding ceremony music, and hit all of the music cues perfectly - fading in and fading out the preprocessional music to the processional, and timing the recessional song perfectly to start the moment our lips touched! He was also flexible in providing microphones/audio for the bride's a cappella group performance. We also booked our photobooth through Danny/NYC DJs and that was fantastic too.
