It's not going to get better than these guys. You call Jerry, he sets up an appointment, you drop off the car and they fix it. As things progress they call you to let you know what's happening. They make solid recommendations, about what you need , and they don't try to sell you things you don't. The value is outstanding and the prices are more than competitive. I had a bad experience there that put me off, Jerry was on vacation and the previous owner was in charge. I was having trouble with my brake lights, I did say that it might be the brake light switch. They took a look and replace the brake light switch and told me it was fixed all good. Until a few days later when I got pulled over for brake lights not working. When I took it back to Nye's the same guy (previous owner of shop) became very angry when I asked for it to be fixed correctly, he yelled at me and said they did what I told them to do and walked back into the service area still yelling. That was only partly true I came in to get the brake lights fixed and merely mentioned that the switch might be the problem all they did was replace the switch never test drove it. WTF. Anyway when Jerry returned to work he apologized and refunded me. Bottom line I went somewhere else and got them fixed correctly. I have since found a new mechanic. I do wish Jerry luck, but one asshole cost him my business. read more

Where to begin? My dad started doing business here 50 years ago. I've been working with them for about 20 years. Each an every visit is scheduled promptly, accommodates my crazy schedule, and is handled on-time. They do exactly what they say they are going to do, and if they spot something that needs attention, they tell me. When they do, they tell me what's wrong, how long I should let it go before I address it, and estimate the cost. The work is impeccably well done. They execute flawlessly. Larry, Marty and Jerry are the best. By the way, I moved to Chicago about 7 years ago, and I still have them service my vehicles (it's only 90 minutes away). read more

The business has gone to pot since the elderly NYES retiired, and now son Marty Nyes, and co owner, Jerry, run the place. Jerry misdiagnosis' problems, and is more interested in taking your money, than fixing a problem correctly. Marty has a trigger temper, and doesn't like if you complain about their crappy work. I asked for my heat to be repaired, and they only got a little heat coming out of the defrost. I paid $150, and when I took it back they refused to make it right! Had to go elsewhere, and it needed a thermostat, for one. read more

I made an appointment at Nyes for 3 problems, they ask I drop car off the night before the apt. or first thing in the morning, I dropped car off at 7:50am, the parking lot was full around thier building, I needed something from car, at 2:15, I was very suprised car was in the same spot where I left it. Later in the day they said my car needed a part, ask me to leave vehicle, I needed car so I ask them to lock the doors and I would pick car up and return it. When I got to my car it was parked around their business, The drivers door was locked but my back door was UNLOCKED. I returned car for repair and a light bulb. They fixed problem and changed light bulb. About two weeks later light was burned out again, they wanted me to leave car for a bulb change, I waited for the change, was told the correct way to change bulb was to remove head light casing, but the mechanic has small hands and can reach in and change bulb, was told it might be the connector. Bulb burned out again, I took it somewhere else for bulb change, mechanic removed light casing form car, to find it was the connector, problem fixed correctly by someone else in 30 minutes.
