Very disappointed. First, booked my appointment with a specific stylist, but when I arrived was given a different stylist. I should have walked out at that point. I should have been contacted prior to my appointment and told the stylist I booked was not available. But you drive 40 minutes to get there and want your hair done. The front staff were very kind. The owner was on a tear about cancellations and angrily issued orders to the staff about future policy changes. She made the atmosphere tense and unpleasant and should have saved it for a staff meeting. I get a simple bob cut, but when I got home I noticed a chunk that hadn't been cut and had to trim it myself-- after spending $80. All of these issues by themselves are not huge, but as a whole it's too much for me. I want my experience at a salon to be pleasant. And I don't like the switching stylist. With their cancellation policy that you must sign. I feel that they owe me for the stylist canceling me without 48 hours notice. Hypocrites. Do not recommend. read more

My new hair salon. I had a salon for many years in Prescott but Covid changed everything so I tried several different places and was not happy with any until this one. I called for an appt with someone I knew who is supposed to be great with color. We'll Kylie must be because she was over a month out so I found April who was new to the salon but happened to answer the phone and I'm so happy she did. I made an appointment skeptically but am so happy to have her as my new hair stylist. She's great with my weaves and style plus she's a sweet girl and I trust her. I also love the location of the salon and have met the owner who seems to be a hard worker that's good at her job and helps these girls get started the right way. read more

I walked into NylaD salon and made an appointment on a Tuesday they had an appointment available on a Thursday. Less than 24 hours later i called to reschedule bc of conflict. Kelly called me back and immediately scolded me about giving her less than 48 hours notice. my original appointment was more than 24 hours away, made less than 24 hours b4. I have been getting my hair colored and cut consistently every 3 weeks forever, longer than I can remember w/o fail. I am not a person who is comfortable going out w/roots for any reason. Therefore i am a regular consistent customer. They didn't know that about me and yet Kelly thought it important enough to lead with scolding me even after i agreed to follow that policy in the future, she continued, rudely. Remember, this was my first appointment, I wasn't even sure i would be a repeat customer in 3 weeks. I was trying them out. I get it they've obviously had a problem. I was willing to put a CC on file for them to charge me for the 48 hours notice in the future, I get it, but Kelly continued. unacceptable way to start out. read more

After much debate I feel compelled to write this review . I went in to see Kirby for the first time yesterday . I have had a positive experience with Jenny cutting my hair but at my moms recommendation I decided to take my chances with Kirby . Wow what a mistake . I walked in with beautiful blonde hair to my lower back and asked for a trim to which I showed him no more than 3 inches to cut off . I stated I hated a blunt hair cut and wanted in faded to a V in the back . I told him I wanted to keep my length for braiding my hair and buns etc . He did not respect one thing I asked for . He took men's buzz cutters to my beautiful hair and I walked out with an uneven UGLY hair cut above my shoulders . When I told him it was not what I asked for and way to short he got nasty with me and told me to get out of his chair . I balled my eyes out in the car. I just washed my hair and cried again . I will now have to suffer for years waiting for my hair to grow back because of his arrogance and ego driven approach. Women I suggest avoiding haircuts from this man and pray nobody has to go through this. Absolutely the most awful haircut I've ever had . Update : I went to my regular stylist when I got home to fix the awful and uneven cut I got and my stylist was appalled at what he saw he was so sad for me and so confused as to why the hell anyone would cut my hair like that ? I have very thick hair and he said and I know very thick hair should be longer to avoid it looking like the end of a broom which thanks to Kirby mine does . My stylist fixed the uneven cut and took some weight out and told me he would see me in a year after my hair has grown out from the hair raping I got . I'm still beyond angry and wear hats everyday . It goes to show you that hair is so important and if you care about your hair don't go to this salon or to Kirby !! read more

I,like many others moved from California to Prescott and had the unenviable job of finding a new hair salon. I searched around and found Nyla D'. After only one visit I knew this was going to be my new favorite place, a year has passed and I'm pleased to say it was the best decision I've made since moving here. All the staff are lovely! Nothing is too much trouble and I truly feel part of their family! My regular stylist is Kylie who does an amazing job on coloring and cutting my hair, she also derma-planes and waxes both of which she does expertly. If someone doesn't want a haircut, don't pressure them. If someone doesn't want product, don't pressure them. 90 for a haircut (that I didn't want) and toner that was way too ashy is unbelievable. I didn't book a haircut. I think the response from the owner is laughable. The stylist had no idea what to do and kept asking me questions that made me concerned about her experience and abilities all the while pushing product. Two hours should have been more than enough to do a partial highlight but I didn't feel confident in her. Again, I didn't book or want a haircut. The tone of a business starts with the owner, and Jenny instills a spirit of service, integrity and professionalism in her team. ALL of the stylists are talented and strive to achieve the result you seek. Over the last two years, I have had various services with all of the professionals here and ALL are top-notch. In particular, ANDREW is AWESOME! I recently placed myself in Andrew's skilled hands for a bit of a transformation and he has knocked it out of the park! One of the great things (of many) about Nyla D' is that it offers a whole team of talented, skilled professionals. If you have a last-minute schedule crisis or a surprise need, you can usually be worked in if your usual stylist is booked. This salon is awesome!! My mom and I never get our hair and makeup done, but decided to last minute for my cousin's wedding. We were worried we wouldn't find an appointment this late, but they took us in and were very accommodating from the moment we called. Bre did makeup for both of us and was super sweet, answered all of my questions enthusiastically, and even explained some of what she was doing knowing that I was unfamiliar with the process. She did an awesome job that looked and felt great throughout the night. Andrew did my moms hair, giving her a gorgeous, bouncy blowout. Riley did my hair and really wowed me. As a bridesmaid, I wanted a super cute updo that I had no idea how to accomplish. I have almost waist-length hair so this was not going to be an easy task. Riley must have redone the bun 10 times but I really appreciated it because it turned out AMAZING and stayed that way the whole night without me feeling like I couldn't move around like normal. She was very kind and funny, and has some serious hair skills. Overall we had an awesome experience. The stylists all create an atmosphere that is very friendly and welcoming (we were even offered complimentary hot tea). Walking into Nyla D' Salon I didn't know what to expect, but I certainly didn't expect Angela. Not only is she incredibly talented but I have never in my life felt like I was in such caring hands. She seemed to get my self-esteem problems and really care that I left with not just a great haircut, but also feeling good about myself. Today I had to do that scary thing everyone has to do at some point. I had to find a new hairdresser. I'm new in town, I don't know anyone for a referral, and in 6 weeks.... I'm going to be the Mother of a groom. I fussed and fussed reviewing the salons in town. Finally I chose NylaD Salon. They had many good reviews here on Yelp. I checked out their website and I like the hair photos that were posted. Andrew was my hairdresser today. I sent him photos of the color I was thinking about, days ago, in hopes he would be ready for me. Well..... I was not disappointed. I had chosen a complicated coppery color with high and low lights. I have to say I am super pleased with my color! In 5 weeks I will be backin Andrews chair to get the same color and head out to New Orleans for my Sons wedding! read more

I arrived in Prescott a year ago. Due to moving stress in the months prior to relocating, my hair was a wreck. Frizzy, dry, damaged. I have fine wavy/curly hair (curly not in a good way). I am completely hair-inept, and will gladly pay the price for a top-notch stylist. Jenny is that person. My appt was with the owner Jenny. It was my first time in the shop. Jenny was somewhat aloof and although I tried to be personable, she didn't ever warm up. I asked for a style, cut and color. She rushed through the appt and as I was heading up front to pay, she asked if I would shampoo my hair before coming back in. The cost for this unremarkable job was $160.00. This costs more than the upscale Rolf's Salon in Scottsdale. I would never return. read more

I'm so glad I found Angela at the Nyla D's Salon.. she is one of the most talented hair as well as makeup artists I've ever worked with. I am new to town and was in need of a good hair salon. My mom sees Jenny and loves her, so I decided to give Nyla D a shot. My mom recommended Stephan as he sits next to Jenny. I wanted some white blonde highlights with burgundy, but knew my hair seems to always turn orange when going blonde. I thought I would give it one more try for the blonde and was pleasantly surprised at how perfect my blonde was the first try!! Stephan is not only an artist but a sweetheart!! Very nice salon and quite pleased with the services. However, no prices are listed. There are different discounts offered for "mention our website" or "20% off with Yelp". I did not know if I got any discounts or not since there was no itemized receipt or price list. My bill was $80 for haircut and product. For a $40-$50 haircut, 15% or 20% will keep me coming back- or eliminate the discounts, save me from asking if I got the discount and lower the prices a little. read more

When my current stay in Prescott ran longer than planned, I was worried about finding a stylist to color my hair. I couldn't be more pleased with the services at Nyla D'. Jenny, the owner, is super friendly and professional. She answered my questions regarding my color/highlights and cut with candor and solid examples and facts. She really knows her stuff - my hair looks amazing! But, the best part was the Brazilian Blowout. She said it would be a "game changer" for my hair, which is thick, wavy and bit coarse. I've had keratin treatments and other expensive straightening products in the past and was disappointed. After keeping those greasy products on my hair for days without being able to tie it back or wear a hat, my hair was never really "straighter" or softer. This Brazilian product was different. My hair looked great from the start. When I wash it (using the recommended products) it takes about 15 minutes to blow dry and if I use the flatiron, it takes about 5 minutes of my time. Before the treatment, I spent 30 minutes to blow dry my hair and 20 minutes to flat iron it - every time I washed it! Now, I can easily go for 4 -7 days without washing my hair. Yes, this was a game changer. Did I mention that my hair is soft, still has body, yet is "straight" enough that it looks styled, even when I wake up in the morning?
