If I could leave 0 stars I would. Without going into the nitty gritty details of the 8 weeks they…read morehad our truck here is the nutshell version: 1. When we dropped the truck off they told us it would be ready in 1-2 weeks. At the end of two weeks without hearing from them, we called to find out what the status was. They told us then that there was a two week waiting period for the truck to even be looked at. They apologized and said that was their mistake, so we left the truck there chalking it up to a misunderstanding. 2. Another 3-4 days go by and they call us to say they can't repair the engine, that it will need to be completely replaced. (this is the ONLY time in 8 weeks that they called US first to give any sort of update) we debate back and forth for that day and then the next day give them the go ahead to order the new engine and replace it. The engine they had found had comparable miles to what our truck had and would be a good match. 3. We NEVER received any sort of update from them. Every friday we would call asking what was happening and they constantly said that "it would be ready next week" and then that changed to "the engine is taking forever to get here" 4. After 3 weeks of hearing this (so we are 6 weeks into this saga at this point) I called LKQ who they told us they ordered the engine from and they told me that Custom Motors had JUST placed the order last week, and that the engine had arrived, the forklift operator had dropped it and damaged it and they were waiting on a replacement that would be there Thursday. Again, never received any sort of update from CM. 5. Finally, on Thursday of the 8th week there we called AGAIN to see if it was ready and they said to come pick it up first thing in the morning. We arrived, and only then, after it was installed, did they tell us that this wasn't the engine we had discussed but that it was another engine that had come from Canada, and only had 30k miles on it. Our truck had 120k. I asked for a discount for 3 reasons - it wasn't the engine we had agreed on, it took 400% longer than the originally said it would, and we were paying in cash. They gave us $100 off the $5,000 price tag. And finally, we have had the truck back for about a month and drove it to OKC this weekend. The CHECK ENGINE light came on. We took it to auto zone to get it diagnosed, it said it was either a wiring issue or a spark plug. I called CM this morning and told them what happened and they told me that IT WASN'T COVERED BY WARRANTY and that I could drop it off and pay for them to fix it. Hell no - I'm not falling for that again. These are the facts. We used them because they had good reviews, which makes me think that they take down their bad ones. Save yourself a ton of time and money and take your vehicle literally anywhere else.

We took our 77 34 ton Chevy truck to Custom Motors. The truck overheated on our way home from…read morepicking it up. Motor had 237 miles when the motor blew up on the highway. Custom Motors sent a flatbed to pick it up, and dropped it off the trailer. Custom Motors "rebuilt" the motor again, and 5 times total, and the motor is not any better now than before we paid them $1850 cash. This company has been in business 45 years! Derek Zellner is 3rd generation owner and he does not have the integrity or knowledge of his predecessor. I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy and I hope ALL of his future customers read ALL the reviews online and his business declines as the TRUTH is realized.
