My husband and I have been plannig on coming to this place for a few week now, or whenever we got a day off together. Today we finally decided to make the trip from copperas cove to Temple. We arrived and got our drinks around 3:30Pm and wanted to order food. The waitress how ever wasn't very consistat or knowledgeable of what were daily specials and charge us regular price for our drinks. Also the cook was in a meeting for an hour and a half durig buisness hours ( the whole reason went was for the " traditional irish food". So we never got to order our food. Its an okay place to drink but i woud'nt ever go out of my way again to stop. Servce was at best mediocre. Watch for the woman with pink hair she has no idea whatshes doing. read more

I can't really think of any reason to take away a star! Tons of beer on tap, bartender was super helpful and helped me choose. We got some spinach artichoke dip and that was super delicious, not like nasty bar food. Service was great, bathrooms clean, not smoky since they moved that mess outside and the acoustics were much better than they were last time we came here. Here to see my old pals in Reverend Horton Heat. Ordered a Shocktop and a shot of Grand Marnier. Ya know the clear plastic cups you get drinks in? My shot barely cleared the bottom-most line and cost $7. Wow. I have been a beer n shot drinker for a long time and have never been so underserved. Went there for dinner with the wife. After a very long wait, they brought my wife's Shepherd's pie out to her first and told me my steak was on it's way. After 20 minutes my wife is done eating the tiny portion they brought out, so I go to the bar to ask about my food. Turns out they never started it and then asked me how I wanted it cooked. Are you kidding me?? It wasn't busy at all, there was no excuse for forgetting about my food! We just paid for her food and left. They didn't offer anything to make up for it! They had a great selection of beer, but the good ones tasted like they'd been tapped month ago. I'm sure their Coors Lite would have been nice and fresh, but not their premium craft beer. The atmosphere was dark and somewhat smoke filled, and the huge folded tent and trash barrels stacked along the main wall really make the place seem like a cheap, dirty dive bar. This is also one of the only premium craft beer places in the state that I've been to that doesn't have their selection in Taplister but instead makes you download their own app. The variety of their selection is the best thing they've got going. read more

First came here two years ago with a friend to check out the beer selection. Around the Killeen area they have the best beer selection in a restaurant until you reach Austin. They have live music several nights a week, usually local artists during the week and visiting artists on weekends. Usually there is a small door charge per person when bands are playing. Smoking is allowed indoors. Food is also good, not your usual cheap and bad pub food its actually pretty good. If you don't want to eat here there are a few restaurants around the corner you can hit up before you come have a drink. read more

Visited Obriens for the first time since moving to Texas. Bar staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Glo was a fantastic bartender and gave me great recommendations on nights to come for live music as well as local beer options. The beer selection was fantastic and he the boneless wings which were good as well. Look forward to going back and checking out some live country music. read more

Terribly run. They have a ton on tap but refuse to give tasters. Stingy. Everywhere else in Temple will offer tasters to ensure you like before you buy a pint. I just had an awful beer there, had 4 sips of my pint. Ii said I didn't like it and it was not comped and nothing else was offered. Closed out and left. I used to like Obrien's but this new policy has ruined it. Will go anywhere else from now on. read more

Great building, good bar. I asked how the Irish food was? The Waitress started by saying the sheppards pie was made in house, the bangers and mash were good. i noted no news paper on the fish and chips. My party ordered all 3. Our waitress was very nice. The food was not. The pie was watery, not the tight pie it should be and topped with Instant potatoes? bangers were decent, but again instant potatoes. The fish looked like a freezer product. Not very good Irish food, which sadly is some the easiest food to create. The Guiness was great, the bar and the people I was with made the evening. The waitress was fun too. read more

Not even worth a review. Food marginal. Guinness pour was poor,no head. Staff more interested in stocking for the "rush", but no on here. First young lady nice enough and working her tail off. Staff that came in at 8 more interested in staying in a corner with a deadbeat and then tried to cash me out after I had already cashed out before the real worker punched out. Don't waste your money. Maybe it is a good place on weekend but total waste of time and disappointment for Wednesday night. read more

I grew up in Temple and then moved to College Station not quite too far from Temple. Being a student, I'm quite used to the cheap drinks and drinks specials many bars in College Station has to offer. Visiting Temple, I thought that the same thing would happen for Temple. Boy was I wrong. I've only gone to O'Briens once before coming the second time. There was a cover charge for some random band I didn't know. We only came there for the drinks. The drinks were priced way too high, even for draft. Which is just plain ridiculous. Not only that, they also put an automatic tip charge on my cover charge tab, since I only paid my drinks in cash. Boy oh boy. I'm glad I didn't leave a tip on the table. I'm usually very good on tipping, especially in CS where the bartenders would know me after one night because of how much I tip. But these people, with their high price drinks, there was simply no room for tip. These people are only out to get your money, nothing more. I believe the reason why they're priced so high is because there is no other competition around that area. Somebody needs to open up a sports bar right next to them. Then the prices would be lower. I guess I'm a little spoiled living in cheap CS. But I thought Temple would be the same. Nope. It makes me sad for the people of Temple considering how much they have to pay for drinks. They deserve better than this crap. I would recommend going here if you want to spend all your money. Otherwise, find another bar in another area if you want to save money and yet drink at the same time. It's just not worth it in my book. Never going there again. read more

I'll start off by saying I've always LOVED this place since I walked in the door but lately they've been struggling. Starting with informing customers what they are paying for. Id imagine it's kinda hard to keep people coming back when you get your bill and it's way more than expected. Especially when prices weren't specified from the beginning. When I brought this to the attention of the owner(Ryan) he obviously thought I was dumb for questioning the unclarified prices. Then asked me what I was wanting out of it..... Maybe for you to do your job as a fucking manager and coach your servers/bartenders(Maddi) about informing the customers what they're about to pay for. This is the second time with the same bartender that my bill was through the roof. In the end he told me OH OK and proceeded to talk about it's because he's needing to move inventory. Irrelevant to the situation by the way. So the inventory that was on special didn't get moved that night. It was never served nor offered. Way to go on moving inventory! He danced around the issue so I went to the other bar and paid extra on my beer to get away. My brain pretty much started to short circuit. Almost every time I go to O'briens I have new customers with me excited about how awesome it is. These are people that don't want to deal with Killeens scene and will come from as far as Cove for a great place. People that will bring MORE BUSINESS and Im pretty much told to get fucked?.....when no one is even walking in your doors anymore...I tell ya what I'll get fucked all the way to HEB, grab a case of craft beer, which is almost as much as a pint there, and drink it at home. Just left there. Thursday night, got there around 6:00 to have dinner. Waitress comes and drops menus on table and says 'what do y'all want to drink. We weren't there to drink, just eat. We order the app platter, (Just the 2 of us). The waitress comes to us and says "will y'all be paying cash or credit?" Wait, we haven't even gotten our food yet, why should this matter? We tell her credit, and she replies "well let me go ahead and get your card and I'll cash you out now". Again, we haven't even gotten our food yet. Once the food does come to our table, we never saw our waitress again. No refills on our drinks, no coming to ask how the food was. Really don't think we will be going back anytime soon. Poor service, and not the best quality of food. Yeah they were appetizer, but NOT the point. Music venue with A menu should take care of their customers, NOT IGNORE THEM. read more

Paid $24 for my girlfriend and I to get in. There was no place for us to sit. The "owner" complained to us and some other people that we were in the way, so we left. I dig O'Briens. Seriously. It was my first bar adventure since moving to the area and I was NOT disappointed. The beer selection is amazing and the knowledgeable staff makes suggestions based on your taste. Since my first time I have been back several times to watch football, attend a concert, and just relax after meetings. It is perfect for any occasion and everyone I have taken to the pub has left very impressed. I see many people indicating that there is not a lot of competition in the area, but in all reality, there is no need for a wide selection of bars when you have one that is as neat as this one. read more

O'Briens was only ok. Good selection (Probably the best in Temple) of beverages, but food was just ok. Frozen steak fries and 2 small pieces of fish were nothing to get excited about. I met some interesting people, but the servers weren't friendly or motivated to have a paying patron. I'd have left a better tip if the bartender would not have been worried about his phone so much. When I entered, I waited about 5 minutes before anyone said anything to me. I sat at a table then eventually moved to the bar because I thought there were no servers working. After ordering, I saw two servers come out from the back area. None of whom engaged anyone in conversation or smiled in the least. Sitting at the bar was frustrating too. The bar sits probably 16 people and there were people spread out every three seats so there were no real available seats. I stuck my self at the end of the bar and waited for service. It was very smoky but I guess smokers gonna smoke. The physical atmosphere was comfortable with classic mahogany/cherry colored wood everywhere two TV's at each end of the bar and one large projection screen. There was a stage that provided a cool venue to possibly listen to some live music. they could have had more comfortable bar stools instead of backless unpadded wood seats. If I go back, I'll have to have a really good reason. read more
