This is my first ever yelp review, and it saddens me that I had to write it. I am not one to…read morecomplain, but I feel so upset that I let my family down on Christmas Eve. I ordered fried calamari and baked clams from Villa Brunetti. I make them every year, but this time I hosted at home and didn't have the means to make all the seafood. It was a total disappointment. I received a shallow pan half filled with calamari that looked like they were thrown into the fryer with no flour or breading. The baked clams were so tiny and all bunched up together. I paid $140.00 for these dishes, and was left embarrassed to serve inedible products. I have been in the food service industry for over 25 years, and a chef for 16 years, so I know what food is supposed to look like, taste, and presented. (No excuse for the execution). Prior to writing this review, I reached out to the restaurant and the only thing they had to say is that I was the only one who complained, they where dismissive and uncaring and they did not feel like they had to make anything right. I most certainly understand "things happen" One complaint or 100 complaints, that shouldn't matter. To be met with indifference by staff shows a lack of customer service and respect for your clientelle. What happened to making things right? Never again will I order from Villa Brunetti or will I attend their events.

People sometimes complain about all the single guys but this is why I go. I want them to watch and to take a test ride or even just touch if I say it's ok. The more the better as long as you're ok not being in there first. My husband usually finds his groove there too helping where needed or just watching like so many others. While nothing really struck our fancy, our waitress made a comment that if we did want any food, it might be slim pickings as they were running out of stuff. Turns out, this day was the last day they were open. Talk about timing! After she mentioned that, I started to notice that people were buying bar signs and various other things. Emily started off with a Guava Gose and I grabbed a Krankshaft kolsch. We sampled each other beers and we both really liked what the other ordered. I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. While we were kind of hungry, nothing on the menu really struck our fancy, especially considering they might've been out of it. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. We did contemplate buying some bar signs on our way out but declined as we don't know what we would exactly do with them. It sucks to see a small business close but they did say they may try to open up a new place in a new location in the future.

Most importantly you can not beat the price for a wedding, especially with what you get in return. We looked far and wide for an affordable location in the Chicago area and Centre beat them all in price and quality. I'm still hearing about how great the staff was, how good the food tasted, it was very good, and we were able to have a 6 hour open bar. All included in our price with tax and tip. JoAnne and Roberta at Centre made the process of getting everything ready extremely easy and JoAnne made sure we didn't spend anything over what we needed to,which I appreciated. El Mana is just a small storefront restaurant in a corner plaza. Inside is very basic, no real decor, simple tables and chairs. The clientele seems to be mainly Hispanic which is always a good sign. For such a small place the menu is fairly extensive including breakfast and a whole page of seafood entrees. I ended up ordering the Camerones Al Mojo De Ajo (shrimp in garlic sauce). While waiting for my food I enjoyed the chips and salsa, good flavor and fresh, although the salsa was a bit salty. In about 10 minutes my food came out nicely presented on a pretty fish shaped dish, a large portion of shrimp, rice and a simple salad topped with fresh avocado slices and some warm flour tortillas. The shrimp were excellent plump and meaty in a zippy sauce laced with garlic. The rice was a great compliment, while the salad gave a nice fresh crisp element to the meal. Overall an excellent meal and a great dinner. El Mana is a great place to get some excellent Mexican food at a reasonable price, portions are generous, flavors a big, bold and straightforward. Service was good, but this is not a high end place, really not much to see and really nothing except great food.

Im here to show others my experience and to be aware of what they might get into. Search on all the other reviews and thats exactly how she is. We gave Mayra Galindo $3,000 as a deposit for an event we had scheduled in September 2023. Unfortunately we had a death in the family and did not have the event. We reached out to Mayra for advice in how to go about our deposit. She had no empathy to start with. She offered to reschedule the event within a year or pass it along to a family member or friend. Or if she was to be booked the date of our event she would refund it to us. She had an event happen that day. We reached out to Mayra for an update she made an excuse it was a raise fund event, so it was a no to our refund. Then we had several friends and family willing to take over the event and they were also a NO. So my understanding she doesn't want to work nothing out and KEEP our hardworking money $3,000. She is a whole different person from when we met her 2 years ago. She is rude and used profanity words. You can confirm this in the other reviews. ****I will update this post if this issue is resolved. No Updates or a solution to our $3,000 deposit. 9.24.24 I recommend Do Not Give A Big Deposit in case something happens or she will keep it.

The food was delicious and well-presented, with a variety of options. Mayra is an excellent coordinator. She was an absolute pleasure. From the initial planning stages to the day of the event, they were organized, responsive, and incredibly detail-oriented. Organizing such a big event can be extremely stressful, but she did everything she could to make it less stressful. I would definitely recommend La Orquídea Banquet Hall to anyone looking for a memorable and well-organized event space
