The food is decent for the price, more than OK. Everything tasted good. The noodles/broccoli/mushrooms/spicy-sour soup are my favorite.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 2/5 - ordered House Special Fried Rice (#31). It looked like they grabbed some fried rice from the buffet and added more proteins in it. The shrimp and chicken tasted like they're frozen items that were just boiled and tossed into the rice so they were terrible. The flavor was lacking other than a soy sauce based. Service: 5/5 - a buffet location but since the options were fairly few, we decided to order a fried rice dish to go instead. Slight language barrier but friendly overall Ambiance: n/a - ordered food to go Value for price: 2/5 - not worth for the price as the food is not good and it's such a small portion. Terrible. I used to go here in the 90's and thought I would try it again since I was back in town. It was a big mistake though. Everything in the soda fountain machine was flat and not even drinkable so I drank water. The buffet was downsized and super small. Many things they didn't even have on there. All of the plates, bowls, and silverware were super cheap styrofoam. Food wasn't very good overall and no desserts. The decor was so outdated and run down. It's not cheap either just like everything. Buffet was 11 something but even if it was 5 dollars I still wouldn't go. Don't waste your time or money here. I won't be back ever. read more

Ok is still open and serving hot and yummy food!!!! You can order food for carry out! It is plentiful, hot and tasty! I ordered the shrimp fried rice, General Tso chicken and spring rolls. It's not horrible. I have to agree that it's "ok" First off, your drinks are 12oz soda cans. They do have a lot of Fanta flavors (a plus) Then they bag you for the 10.00 PP charge. This is OK Chinese Restaurant. No, really, it's just OK. But it's just about the only one in the area, and it's been around for years. I actually went to high school with the owner's son, and it seems like this family puts a lot of dedication into running a quality joint. The restaurant itself is a little dank and run-down, but it's one of the only surviving businesses in a dying strip mall that 15-20 years ago was bustling. Now it looks like a dystopian abandoned outpost and is very difficult to get to now that they redid the traffic patterns in northern Oak Hill. The service is 100% top-notch, and the food is good. However, there never seems to be much variety, and I'm used to more spice in my Chinese food. I'm blessed to live in the D.C. region now where we have a pretty significant Asian population, especially in areas like Annandale. So this isn't quite the level of flavor and authenticity that I'm used to, but it's still really good and you definitely won't find a better value for the variety on OK's buffet. Personally, I think there are too many chicken and deep-fried options and not enough in the way of more healthful, veggie-filled or adventurous seafood and such options (e.g., squid). The sushi needs work too -- just fake crab meat in a cream cheese roll... at least put out some spicy tuna if you won't do nigiri. (Although, they could just leave the sushi out altogether given that this isn't Japanese.) Overall, this place I think is a small step below the one in Beckley in the old Tumbleweed building (I don't even know if it's still open, but it was a couple years ago). But it's still good and I enjoy going here with my mom when I'm in visiting Fayette County. read more

For the 15 years I've lived in Fayetteville, the quality of OK has been top notch. Great food, great selection, always friendly staff.

Reminds me a lot of the No 1 buffet that used to be in Lakewood NY, same layout and chandeliers. Not a great buffet, acceptable and cheap. The food was luke warm. The best things I ate were spring rolls. That's not a good nod for a restaurant that has over 20 dishes. Only tried a couple of dishes as I fear getting sick from food that's not hot. To top it off a kid dished out his own food coughing the whole time without covering his mouth. Staff were close and took no action. read more

Most things didn't taste good at all. Hot and sour soup had all the ingredients it's supposed to, but no flavor. General tso chicken was just super sugary glaze sauce, no spice or any other flavor. Soggy egg rolls. Not a lot of variety. Low mein was okay. Sesame chicken was okay. Scary looking "sushi" even for a California roll, and suspect wasabi. read more

I use to go here to eat religiously, I loved there food and I never had any reactions to any of it, which is of course a big deal to me. I went there to eat a few days ago and two out of 5 of the people, including myself ended up sick after eating here. I don't know if they changed what is in there menu items or just got some new cooks but my step dad's stomach swelled up and he couldn't do anything and my face underneath my mouth blistered up and my skin peeled off, I will never eat here again even if my life depended on it!! The owners refuse to open the buffet back up because they are so greedy! They said they are making more money with takeout than with the buffet. Now the prices are so much higher and the portions are so much smaller. They smile to your face and pretend to care about their customers, but they only care about the almighty dollar. I lament the decline almost every Chinese restaurant becoming a buffet. They can be good to scary but hands-down this is the best Chinese buffet I've been to. It's immaculate. The windows are sparkling. The furnishngs are neat and clean. Best of all, the buffet table offerings are well presented and there are no steam table pans that are encrusted with the very last remnants of pepper steak w/tomatoes dragged out to the center. It all looks hot and tasty and lovely for one to say "I haven't tried that but I want to coat it in rooster sauce and maybe soy". If they had post cards with a free stamp I would have written home about it. At the end you can have soft serve ice cream with a machine that actually works (and it's cold). Even my fortune from the cookie was prophetic. And it's good value! $6 for lunch. I only wish we had one this excellent in Indanapolis. -G read more

I have stopped in here countless times over the years, and they never disappoint. I believe the buffet is currently closed due to COVID but they do take-outs. The food is always delicious, and they are very attentive to their customers. I highly recommend if you're looking for some good food at a great price. read more

Not terrible, actually pretty good. Selection is not extensive, but what is put out is done well. Prices are not unreasonable, and carry out is usually quite good as well. They sometimes skimp on higher-priced buffet dishes (i.e. mussels, etc.), and it would be a lot more enjoyable if they had more than one type of sushi (which isn't all that great). It's close, and it's what the other half likes... but, for my money, I'll drive the extra miles to Beckley. read more

I am a former employee there. I worked there for four years, from 2005 to 2009, I attended my nursing school while I was working there. and then I left because I graduated and became a nurse. The owner and his wife are wonderful person! The owner 's wife Mei, she is a very dedicated person to keep everything clean. The employees usually jokingly said behind her back that she needs to work in the Health Department not a restaurant. when I worked there the food is good, because all the employees and even their families eat from the bar and we never had any problem. maybe sometimes if you go there around 2:00 or 3:00 pm, you might see the food is drying up but that is the down time. because lunch time is about over and dinner dishes will be up around 3:30. so go there in the regular dinning time is the key. most of the food needs to be put under the 450 degree oil for seconds, so most of germ would die if there is any. i moved to Atlanta couple years ago so i haven't had a chance to go there for a long about 3 years. i am so sad to see those bad reviews and i will check back with them to see what they can do to improve. read more
