I just moved to Arizona & have never heard of Tombstone before. I was informed to go visit Tombstone to see the history this town has to offer. The tickets for the live gunflight was $10. I absolutely loved this place. It had a lot of information about the history of Tombstone and it was very entertaining. All the little shops were neat to walk through too. More than just okay. This was an excellent experience. We had pretty low expectations coming in, with the rather robotic display outside the actual corral enclosure. But the well acted and portrayed gunfight and events leading up to it were really cool. For $10, I would put this on the Yelper Bucket List. The lead role and emcee for our show was the Doc Holliday character, and he did a fantastic job of playing to and encouraging the audience to participate. Yay for the good guys, and boooo for the bad guys. The live blank ammunition will keep you on your toes for sure, and from the first shot to the final shot we were on the edge of our cold bleacher seats. Great performance, decent museum experience, and Doc Holliday for the coach gun kill win! We will be back. read more

My husband and I took a trip to Tombstone and had a great time. We took the Stagecoach tour and were very impressed with the wealth of information that the driver shared as well as The Trolley Tour. The first gunfight show was good but was lacking in several areas - more talking than shooting. The O.K. Corral gunfight had an EXCELLENT reenactment of the actual battle by movie-worthy actors. The Bird Cage Theatre museum ($30 for 2) was an awesome treat as well w/seeing the gunshot holes in the ceiling still there as well as other memorabilia. We had lunch at Puny John's BBQ and had shredded pork and chicken sandwiches with sides - they aren't stingy with the meat! We will be going back in order to visit the shops and to see the O.K. Corral gunfight again! read more

When in Tombstone, you have to see one of the shootouts. It's one of the most famous gun fights in America so make time to see one. We choose the OK Corral because the timing worked out better for us, but some of the locals said to go to the one at the Oriental Saloon because it's more realistic. Either way, I believe you'll have a great time. We did. The actors were funny and got the crowd involved and I did learn a lot while there. Like what caused the 30 second shootout and what happened afterwards. Your ticket also gets you into the museum, the stables, and the Historama Theater. You can also pan for gemstones in their running water sluice. I feel the money was well spent and recommend doing this. :) read more

A childhood bucket list item for me. I grew up hearing the stories about the legendary shootouts that would happen in Tombstone and the infamous battle involving Wyatt Earp and Doc Holiday. The history is alive with a neat reenactment of the legendary battle performed by very passionate actors. If you took the time to come all the way to Tombstone you need to do this for the history alone. It may seem a little cheesy at first; but, you'll understand once you've had the time to walk around and read about the history as to why they do it. read more

For being such a famous attraction, you would think the people working here would be friendly and the site would be more visitor friendly! Nope! Out of everything in Tombstone, the O.K. Corral was the biggest disappointment! A man opened the door and allowed multiple visitors to enter the building not wearing masks, us included. There was no signage indicating if masks were necessary or not. Anyway, we got to the counter and inquired about entry and if we were required to watch the gun fight show. Having lived in SoCal for our entire lives, we have seen our share of old western reenactments and we were completely uninterested in the gun fight. The man at the ticket counter seemed very irritated and had an attitude with us when we told him we did not want to see the gun fight and asked to purchase tickets without the gun fight. He gave us prices while he lazily pointed to a chart stuck on the wall next to him. He then started in on us about the masks. We told him we would put them on, however there is no signage so how were we supposed to know?! Forgive us for taking advantage of the mask mandate in AZ being lifted. We were a group of 3 and the one who was paying for the tickets had their hands full with a wallet and money and was trying to pay the guy for the tickets. This person told him, "I'll put it on, I have one right here," pulled it out, and began to put it on. Meanwhile the other two of us had already put the masks on. He was so rude! He just sat there and kept demanding that the mask be worn. Even as the masks were being put on. Usually if a business requires a mask, they inform you and if you are pulling the mask out of your pocket or purse they allow you to put it on and go about your business. Or, the business has a box of masks to offer you one. Not this guy! He gave us zero information about the O.K. Corral, had an attitude, was unbelievably rude, and kept demanding masks when we were putting them on and after we had put them on! We watched him allow the group of people ahead of us to purchase tickets and enter the O.K. Corral NOT WEARING MASKS! He was picking and choosing who to pick on about the masks! Some of us really wanted to see this attraction and he RUINED the entire experience! Once we got past the mask obsessed ticket guy, we entered the O.K. Corral. We were extremely disappointed to find random groupings of carriages and artifacts. The carriages were nothing more than what is on display at Knott's Berry Farm. The artifacts were average at best. Nothing extraordinary to see - I saw better and more interesting artifacts in other businesses throughout Tombstone! And the location of the famous shoot out looked lazily thrown together. All it consisted of was a gated off area with some mannequins thrown in there and dressed the part. They looked like cheap mannequins too! Extremely disappointing. And FYI to the mask ticket guy: lots of people were walking all through the O.K. Corral not wearing masks, even people working there! read more

Love it here! It's an old western town. Lots of history and cool shops and areas to check out. The gun show is definitely a must to watch when you come here. And it's pretty cheap too. This is why we come to Tombstone, to visit the site of a legendary confrontation from 1881. Were it not for the notoriety of the men involved, this 30-second incident might've been confined to the footnotes of history. Instead, tourists from around the world, and from around the U.S. (like me), are drawn here. The most surprising thing to me was, this place is small. The area in back where the shooting took place -- and now occupied by animatronic models that unexpectedly spring into mechanized life -- is not big. That does provide an insight into history, and a question: how is it that, with all the shooting going on at such close range, weren't more people killed? The Earps and Doc Holliday were wounded, while one Clanton and two McLaurys were shot to death. Anyway. My Tucson-based cousin hadn't been here for twenty years. She was amazed that everything costs. She remembered that you had to pay for admission to the OK Corral, but additional costs for extra shows once you're inside? No. In the movie "Tombstone," Wyatt Earp and his brothers make it clear that they came to Tombstone to make money. They should've bought the OK Corral in their later years and charged admission. They missed a big money-making opportunity. One exhibit here is a prostitute's "crib." It's a small building set up to show where prostitutes worked. It's just one room with a bed (naturally), a couple pieces of furniture, and not much else. So many women became prostitutes because the culture limited their opportunities to make a living doing much of anything else. It paid. To me, this was a heartbreaking testament to the lives of desperate women. Most people, from reading other reviews here, passed by it. My cousin was taking a picture of me, leaning against a fence surrounding the actual site of the gunfight, when the figures of the shooters came to life. It was startling, and a little creepy. We skipped the show that was going to be held later on sight. You enter through a big gift shop that provides ample opportunity to throw away your money on items that will end up in your junk drawer. Save your cash, and take your family out to eat instead. I'm really glad that we got to visit the OK Corral. It was definitely on my Arizona bucket list. Given the opportunity, though, I don't think I'd go again. Better to watch the Kurt Russell movie "Tombstone" once again. read more

The OK Corral is where the big gunfight happened. This 30-second shootout between lawmen and members of a loosely organized group of outlaws called the Cowboys took place at about 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 1881. It still lives in the lore about Tombstone. And, was shown in the movie Tombstone, many TV shows like Tombstone Territory, Tales of the Wells Fargo, Life & Legend of Wyatt Earp and Bat Masterson, and also many popular songs, like the 1964 song Ringo. Now, you plunk down your money and get to tour where the gunfight happened. You enter through the gift shop where you decide if you want the tour and the gunfight or just tour it on your own. We went on our own and toured the fenced in area which looks as close as they can get it to the original spot. They have automated figures standing in the exact spot they stood according to Wyatt Earp's map. A taped account of the gunfight plays when you push a button. Sounds a bit corny, but it was really good and made you realize how close they stood when the fight occurred. It was very educational and interesting. You, also, get tickets to get a newspaper from the day after the gunfight at the Crystal Saloon and get to watch a Histodrama at a theater. Overall, I feel the money was well spent going to the OK Corral. This was one of my favorite things we did in Tombstone. I do recommend it. read more

Gotta say I really didn't have high expectations, but at $10 per person you get a lot. First, you see the actual scene of the gunfight. Second, The reenactment actually does a good job of setting the backdrop for the Earp-cowboys showdown. Third, The history of Tombstone narrated by Vincent Price was interesting and fourth, a tour of the Tombstone Epitaph office, and lastly, a souvenir edition of the paper for the day of the gunfight. Great reenactment! We missed seeing this popular gunfight show during our first visit in early May this year. Didn't think we'd be back again four months later on a random mini vacation on Labor Day. Saw the show at high noon! Tickets were $10/adult. Received three tickets: one for the reenactment of the gunfight at the O.K. Corral. The actors were excellent and entertaining and funny, especially the introduction from Doc Holliday in the beginning. The costumes were great. It is a gunfight show and guns will pop, toddlers will cry from the loud noise. At the end of the show we were given an opportunity to take pictures with the actors. Kindly leave a tip as you leave. The second ticket was for a 30-minute movie at the Historama. Show times were every hour and narrated by Vincent Price. It highlighted the events that made Tombstone famous: the silver boom, the great fire, the O.K. Corral Gunfight, and even the story of Geronimo's Apaches. The third ticket was a visit to the Tombstone Epitaph, the Old West's most famous newspaper. Got a free copy of the Epitaph's newspaper of the O.K. Corral Gunfight. There is a museum inside and you can see the 1881 Epitaph being printed. Free admission. We came on Labor Day weekend and during the three days Tombstone celebrated 'Showdown in Tombstone' where Gun Fighting Groups all over the U.S. come together to perform in the Streets. Today, Sunday, we were able to see a costume contest and a parade. Saw cute little kids in their finest western outfits. I'm sure there are interesting ghost stories to be told about the O.K. Pretty cool. Obviously a must if you are in Tombstone. Good place for kids to see lots of things. Large gift shop. Open areas in the back to see a blacksmith shop, sit inside various carriages, and observe the actual gunfight site re-enacted by animatronic mannequins. They also have a movie that you can watch on site as a part of your ticket and will give you a coupon for a free copy of the "Tombstone Epitaph" from that era that discusses the incident. The museum itself is cool but not exceptional. My favorite part was watching the actors re-enact the events leading up to the gunfight - starting out in the middle of Main street and then pursuing the cowboys into the O.K. Corral. Doc Holliday was really good. I spoke to him just before the event got heated and he had to excuse himself to help out. I wish I would have known that they walk around the town so I could have looked for them. I had that experience where I felt like I was watching something from a movie. My heart skipped a beat as I watched the four of them walk down the street in that iconic image of the Old West. Definately a highlight of the visit. read more

This is a must see if you're in Tombstone. There are limited shows per day so I would recommend coming here to see when the next show is, then go seeing the rest of Tombstone. The town is small so you should be able to peruse all of the shops and maybe have a quick lunch by the time the next one starts. This is a bargain at $10 per ticket. The show is good and a lot of history of the famous shootout at the OK Corrale is explained during the show. The actors were good and played up their roles a little, but all in good fun. The show itself only lasted around 20 minutes which I think we just enough build-up to the gunfight, which only lasted about 30 seconds. I am an old west buff, and have read several books on the subject including the gun fight at the OK Corral. I must admit to being a little disappointed, because the Corral, and all of Tombstone for that matter are nothing more than an amusement park. Some historical buildings still exist like the Bird Cage, but everything else is for entertainment. read more

We made it into the adjoining gift shop. Very frustrating to have an overpriced ticket cost and a rude gentleman at the counter that yells at every customer who is looking at an item or walking through. This was our first stop in Tombstone and gave us an idea of what we would encounter in regards to most things of interest having a high cost of admission. They have put up walls around the Ok corral so you have to pay for a tour. I didn't feel the $15 per person fee was worth it. read more

My wife and I were on vacation in Tucson and decided to take the one hour drive down to Tombstone. While in Tombstone, you have to see the OK Corral...Right? Good deal. For $10 you get a cool 20 minute diorama/movie history of the town, for example, I didn't know Geronimo surrendered here, but that show was worth $10 on its own. Plus you get a newspaper from the day of the gunfight at the town newspaper, The Epitaph, around the corner, which is a cool museum on its own. Also, they have a lot of great exhibits at the OK Corral museum, about what life was like at that time in the Old West. The Crib exhibit was worth seeing for $10 on its own. Then you get a great 15 minute live show of what led up to the gunfight and the actual fight (Which was about 10 seconds long) and lots of humor from the main bad guy. He even gave a point to my wife and said, "I'm looking at you miss" Pretty funny. Overall, you can't beat the price and I don't need to go back to Tombstone, but I am glad I saw it. Great reenactment of the gun fight. All the actors were great actors. Actor who played "Doc Holliday" was comical and introduced us and tells us that it is a participation audience is needed. "Yay" on the good guys and "boo" on the bad. Everyone kept booing the bad guys as they enter on scene. One boy screamed out I hate you to one of the bad guys and he said you don't even know me lol Overall a great time by all and definitely worth the $10. Remember to tip at end of show. For $10 a person, you get a voucher for a free souvenir newspaper from the news museum, free pass to the Historama next door, and pass to the gunfight and other exhibits. If we you have the Tucson Passport, it's buy one get one free. The Historama gives a half hour history of Tombstone and a great over view of the town It really puts the pieces together. The exhibit area has lots of things to look at including wagons and buggies that you can crawl inside. Great for pictures. The actual gunfight reenactment was good, for a small town. If you have small kids, there is a bit of swearing. They do ask for additional donations at the end of the show and have a guy standing if front of the exit to collect your donation as you leave. read more

Do your homework before you pick which show/attraction you choose. The shootout at the OK Corral is probably one of the most notorious gun fights in American History. It's history most people know as it's been well documented and the subject of multiple Hollywood productions. That being said, with how the town and attractions are laid out, we were shocked we could not take our dogs with us into the attraction, despite having a portable carrier. I'd trust my dog much more than the creepy rude guy behind the counter. Sure, this seems a little odd to drop a rating for, but the reality is this, most people in Tombstone are there as tourists. When tourists visit areas, they take with them what is important, like their dogs. Dogs were all over the town. Different venues (most - if not all) allowed your four-legged children, at the very least, with a crate. Water dishes lined the walk ways, attraction hosts were even selling the idea, "we even allow dogs" as I heard up and down the street. But the most pivotal attraction doesn't. You guys might want to reconsider this. The mock gunshots are not a good enough excuse. Maybe allow, "well behaved" critters as an option. Sadly, when we travel to Tombstone again, our dogs will be with us. They won't be in a hot car, so you'll lose out in customers, again. read more

This is of course a "must visit" for any first-timer to Tombstone. You do have to buy tickets, but the signage is pretty good as to where. We went for the "high noon" shoot-out and I have to say it is much less cheesy than I would have imagined or remembered it (the last time I saw the show I was a pre-teen). It was also very interactive and was a bit comedic, which was a nice touch. You can talk to and take pictures with the actors afterwards as well as in front of the "town" sets. We were able to see a live reenactment of the famous OK corral gun fight. It was about a 30 minute show that involved guess participation. It lasted about 30 minutes and it was pretty fun and interesting to see how everything went down. Be sure to get there early because space is limited and if you get a good seat you'll be able to sit in the shade. read more

O.K. Corral in Tombstone is approximately 75 miles from City Center of Tuscon. The drive is about 75 to 90 mins from Tuscon. There is a free parking for O.K. Corral on Fremont Street. I did not see that and ended up looking for parking on regular street (Please click helpful - their website have more detail of free parking). The entertain value of $10 per person include 3 main attractions is amazing and fun to learn about the wild west : 1) O.K. Corral Museum & Gunfight Reenactment Schedule: 11am, Noon, 2 pm, 3:30 pm ( About 35 mins per show and you can take pictures with the actors afterward) - Doors open 15 mins before show to get better seats 2) Movie about Tombstone's Historama every hour : 25 mins historic movie to give you more context about Tombstone and the O.K. Corral Gun flight. 3) Tombstone Epitaph free Museum : You can get a free copy of the Epitaph news paper with ticket. (They are behind the Crystal Palace Saloon ) I went with my wife, son , mom & dad and everyone had fun. We even had lunch at the Crystal Palace Saloon. You can walk up Allen street which is the main street of Tombstone. There are actors outside of the O.K. corral ticket office which are very friendly and can even take photos with you for free. The price of souvenirs at O.K. Corral was very reasonable too. My entire family spend about 4 hours at Tombstone and had lunch there for a wonderful time. read more

Make sure you take the time to walk through the exhibits as well. The prostitute crib was fascinating and you get to learn where the term "red light district" came from. You can buy tickets via the Historama shop on Allen Street and you also get a free newspaper replica, a ticket to watch a movie and a discount at a local gift store. At best, the O.K. Corral was an alley-way where a gunfight broke out well over a hundred years ago. And, thanks to the yellow journalism of the day, Wyatt Earp and his family, along with dentist Doc Holiday became famous. It also didn't hurt that Wyatt Earp relocated in his later years to the west coast and became an advisor to the young film industry. As they say in the movie The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, "...when the legend becomes fact, print the legend." LOL For 10 bucks, you can sit in some bleachers and see it all re-enacted. Or, if UR a new media type like me, download the 1993 film "Tombstone" to your cell or tablet and skip it. I am particularly fond of this one staring Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, and Sam Elliott; rather than the 1994 film "Wyatt Earp" with Kevin Costner. Though I've been told, the Costner film is more historically accurate. But of course, I was raised on the one with Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas. When we went in I wasn't expecting anything other then a somewhat corny show. Boy was I surprised!!!! It was a great show!!! It was funny and very entertaining. The actors were fun to listen to and watch. The actor that played Virgil Earp looked and talked very much like Sam Elliott just a lot taller. The others need to have the mustaches though! The show at the O.K. Corral show started down at the end of the street. You witnessed the argument between Wyatt Earp, the Clantons, and the McLaurys. It was all about a girl, Earp's relative, that Earp wanted to have no contact with the Clantons and McLaurys. The fight then moved into the O.K. Corral. It only costs $7.50 to get in to see the show, and it's worth that. The show itself is fun. It isn't totally historically accurate as far as who exactly dies, lives, and gets wounded, but it's a fun way to spend an hour or so in Tombstone. All the actors end up meeting and greeting down at Big Nose Kate's Saloon down the street after the show. You also get to see life-size statues of the people involved in the gunfight on the spot where the event happened, the O.K. Corral as it originally looked, a free copy of the Tombstone Epitaph newspaper, and probably a few things more that I can't think of right now. The OK Corral was our first stop on our visit to Tombstone. We wanted to make sure we got SHOW TICKETS for the gun fight show - there are only 2 day and they sell out fast! The O.K. Corral is the actual site of the famous shoot out so you've got to stop by. Tickets were only $10 a person and came with a ton of other free activities in addition to the gun show. In addition to the show, you also got: Access to the museum A ticket to the Historama show - with narration by Vincent Price Free Tombstone news paper I would say you can skip the diorama unless you have a lot of time to kill, but the show was worth it.
