For many years, I have been eyeing this place up. Usually when I'm in Batavia though, I'm there on a Sunday, and O'Lacy's is not open. I came here with my parents and was so thrilled. Immediately when I entered, I felt a sense of home. This pub transported me back to Ireland. I miss Ireland so much. The entire vibes of the place were positive and homey and exuded friendship. I ordered the Uncle Louie with the famous chips and it didn't disappoint. I really liked the sauce that came on the side for dipping with the chips and sandwich. It had a good flavor. My mouth is watering thinking about this sandwich and chips. The service was great as well. It was only the bartender and waitress and every table was taken, as well as tables in the patio, so they were both hustling, but still attentive.

O'lacys is known for their perfect guinness pour so we got two. Once we sat down, the server brought us water right away but it was a minute or two for the beer because of the fancy way they pour it. Then we went to order chips and she brought us chips and dip. She was pretty brash but it made sense there. The decor is interesting, old, and irish and the patrons are mostly older too. The food came out fast, we got a beef on weck and a turkey reuben. Both were good. The bill was affordable and a good value. O'lacys is no joke.

I come here for lunch during work days. The service is fast and food is excellent. The homemade chips and honey mustard dip are to die for. Very light, flakey homemade chips that are totally addicting. The ramekin is pieces of chicken wrapped in bacon and bbq sauce- so good. Burger is actually 2 patties- very flavorful and tender. The Uncle Louie sandwich was a grilled turkey, swiss, bacon, and ranch on rye bread- also excellent. Go here! Its really good.

Delicious and Affordable! My husband left the area back in 1996. Just before they opened in 1997. We stopped in the week we moved to Corfu. My husband wanted a place that felt like a pub in Buffalo and we got a place that gave you the feel of Ireland. They have amazing home made chips served with a lemon mustard dip. The menu has American food items with Irish Faire. Items you don't have to wait til St Patrick's Day to get. They also have Irish Live Music as well. Very cool place and glad we found it!

This place is always busy . We stopped on a Thursday night and were lucky enough to get the last table. A nice older crowd (30's and older) We ordered their house chips ( garlic and Cajun) Both were delicious tasting. Waitress service was a little slow but considering the crowd acceptable. Would have given 5 stars however after our first round of drinks we went to order a secondhand were advised there was no more Bushnell's black label and no one had a key to the supply room. This is an Irish whiskey in an Irish bar how is that possible?!?!? Very disappointed. Bartender was great, not sure why they can't leave a key with him to store room.

After a day way out passed the Rolling Hills Asylum fishing with friends I was visiting (which is WAY out of our normal rout) we looked up a place for us to grab a bite to eat. The service here was exceptional. My Shepherds pie was outstanding, and from the cleaned plates and satisfied smiles I'd hazerd to say everyone elses meals were also well above Par (the dipping sause was to die for or so I was told) The Guinness was perfect temperature, in an official Guinness pint glass and perfectly poured. Our exhausted fishing party was more than satisfied and cant wait to come back for more the next time were in Batavia

I'm currently in the area for work and there really isn't a whole lot happening in Batavia. I searched for some decent grub and maybe 10 places popped up. I decided to grab lunch here around 1PM and the place was pretty full! Always a good sign that an establishment is actually good :) Staff and Service: The bartender was SO friendly, greeted me when I entered and made sure to say bye as I was leaving. I waited maybe 5 minutes to get my food from the time it was ordered. Food: I got the Reuben which came with one side $8.99, I opted for the tuna fish macaroni salad... don't get it, not very good, the pasta was too soft and tasteless. The Reuben on the other hand was probably one of the best I've ever had! It was so good I finished the entire thing in one sitting - as I write this review I'm am struggling with my food coma #beingafatty FYI: They charge a $0.25 fee for take-out orders, for the containers. Not a huge deal but worth mentioning.

Excellent food, laid back atmosphere. Great place to grab a beer and dinner. Fast friendly service. Irish stew and Shepards pie were great. Good beer selection and pub decor. The home made chips are a must.

    So themed I love it

The waitress was friendly & efficient. Between the three of us, we ordered a french onion soup, chicken tenders, the highlander burger and Guiness stew. The cheese on top of the french onion soup was cooked perfectly and the homemade croutons were a little bit crisp instead of soggy, which I very much liked. The broth needed a little something more in mine & my friends opinion... not sure what though. The chicken tenders were breaded with crushed up pretzels which is not something I have seen before and was the ultimate reason for my decision to order. The tenders were kind of small; the breading was nice and light and crispy, not too greasy; the chicken was cooked perfectly. I think there should have been a little seasoning added to the pretzel... it seemed like they used unsalted pretzels. The price of the tenders on the menu was incorrect & I made mention to the waitress, so I'd think they will update it soon. The highlander burger (which was my second choice) was a steak burger topped with an onion ring, pulled pork, bacon & cheddar. My friend said it was really good. The Guiness stew (which was actually my third choice haha) was enjoyed by my other friend. The burger & the tenders came with fresh cut fries & they were perfectly done & delicious! The bathroom was nice & clean. There were many more items I saw on the menu that I would like to try such as the Celtic Nachos, Fried Pickles & Chip Butty. Check out my pictures for the menu. I will definitely be visiting Fitzgibbon's again!

We didn't reserve in advance (which I now highly recommend). The wait was about an hour, but we passed the time at the nearby Churchill with a pre‑drink, and they texted us when our table was ready. Service for both drinks and food was quick, and the cozy Irish pub atmosphere made it even better. Definitely try to reserve ahead on the website if you can. The live music added a really lively atmosphere and made the night feel special, but it did get a little loud at times, which made it hard to talk without leaning in. We made a reservation ahead of time, which was helpful, but next time I'd probably opt to sit outside instead for a more relaxed vibe!

When we walked in, another customer was raving about the food and telling us how much we'd enjoy it, which honestly made me feel a lot better about trying somewhere new in an unfamiliar area. The vibe is like a bar turned restaurant, dark and a little moody but not off-putting. My mom even got a cutesy leprechaun margarita, which made her smile. We started with 10 mild wings for the table, my sister got a Caesar salad and said the dressing tasted homemade, and this is where I tried French onion soup for the first time. It was okay, just really salty. My mom ended up finishing it, but I did like that the cheese layer wasn't too heavy. I'm still on the hunt for a French onion that really does it for me. I didn't get pictures of the mains, but my mom and I both got steak, I had mashed potatoes and she got a baked potato. My sister got the fettuccine alfredo and marveled at the flavor. She kept saying you can tell it's a local spot and not a chain just by the care put into it. My steak was good, nothing crazy but you really can't go wrong. The mashed potatoes were a little bland but still edible. My mom loved her meal and finished everything, while my sister and I both had leftovers. The only downside was the service. Our waitress wasn't very friendly, kind of impatient and a little passive aggressive, like we were bothering her just by being there. Given the lack of diversity in the area, it didn't completely surprise me, but it was still noticeable. We didn't let it ruin the night though. Overall we still enjoyed it and I'd go back if I'm ever in Batavia again. Reasonable prices, solid food. Taking everything into account, I'd give it a 6.9/10.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! I remember when this restaurant was opened by "Alex" and it was…read morefantastic. I knew Alex by mutual acquaintance and growing up in the same small town. He was a professional restaurateur who was paid to sit with celebrities at the posh places he worked in South Florida in the 70s. Whatever else is said, the man had high standards in food and dining experience. When he opened, and for years after the place was always packed and very popular. The food was high quality and your meal came with 2 sides, salad, hot bread and nice presentation at a reasonable price. Alex left the business several years ago and the current owner has run it for some time. Today was my first time back in several years. The outside looks dated and needs a refresh. I almost thought it was closed. It was 2:30pm on Saturday before Mother's Day and almost empty. I don't recall it ever not being full of people waiting at the bar for a table. Until today. The decor is ok although I don't care for the fringe lamps directly over your head. I was going to get ribs but decided on 10 oz prime rib ($32.00) comes with 1 side (I chose baked potato - only sour cream and butter is offered). No salad unless you pay extra! The warm bread was fine with two kinds of butter. My companion had the Kids spaghetti $(8.99). My prime rib came out and it looked about half the normal thickness it should be and in a puddle of juice. Even the server commented about why the kitchen did that. And it was warm, at best. No horseradish or other condiments were offered. No garnish on the plate. Just a thin slab of meat. The juice should have been in a separate cup. But the small baked potato was steaming hot! My companion had a giant pile of spaghetti with about a 1/4 cup of sauce on top! Too little for the mound of spaghetti. And it looked like cheap jar sauce and no meatballs. She didn't mind but I wasn't thrilled. And her fountain drink did not come with the meal ($3.99)! I had a lavender lemon drop martini that was ok. ($10). Ultimately the food is mediocre and it feels like they are cutting corners to keep prices down. But that means it's no longer the special place it used to be. Sad.

After three wineries, my husband was definitely ready for some food. When you walk in, you definitely feel like you're entering an English pub! The bar, and place, ent of the bar was very traditional to pubs in the UK. Our server Lawerence definitely helped with his English accent! When asked where he was from, he said Bristol! He came to Canada after her sister relocated. He originally was a cook, but given his accent, they asked hi. To move to the front! Well done. He was a great server too! Very friendly! We decided to share the sausage rolls and shepherds pie. My husband had two Guinness! I'm not sure where he put it in top of the wine, but glad I was driving. The sausage rolls were very tasty. The mustard that came for dipping was the perfect accompaniment. The shepherd's pie had a dark Guinness gravy that was rich and flavorful. I enjoyed the side of peas and carrots too! Sharing these two was the perfect amount, however we wished we'd got the poutine! It looked amazing, it would've been too much food though. Guess we will need to return!
