Everything was great until the next morning when I went to retrieve my hat that I mistakenly left on the bar. I went back the very next morning as soon as they open. They claimed they didn't see it, meanwhile the cook is wearing the same exact hat. I realize there's a chance it wasn't mine but seems like the odds would be slim on that one. Holy cow!!! We decided to order our from here on a whim because I was getting my hair done. I had the breaded chicken fingers. They were some of the best chicken fingers I have ever had. I ended up getting sauce on the side which I'm glad I did because I wasn't a fan of the mild sauce. It was a little too sweet for me. If I had to guess it was about 5 years ago that I noticed a drop, we stopped going for a while because of the negative changes. Went back today and it was worse. Is the food okay? Sure, I don't dread it. Is the sauce less flavorful and less thick? Yes. Are the portions as good? No. Do they always seem to be short a staff member? Yes. Is it worth the price or hype? Not anymore. I have loved Pony's for years. I have known it as Ed's. It has been a tradition that following apple picking, we go get food at Pony's. Well, this past experience was less than stellar. Our entire party was very disappointed in the quality of the product. Also, they don't follow wearing masks. I wanted to leave when I noticed this, but the people I were with are okay with this, we obviously don't share the same political views, but I can't not talk to them because they are my family and I love them, and they were my ride. So we stayed. The bartender/server was technically wearing a mask, just around her neck. One bartender was wearing his mask religiously. I wish he was our server. Our table of four ordered 30 wings, a single order of chicken fingers, an order of pizza logs, and an order of fries, along with a water, Pepsi, and two Jameson and gingers. The food came out surprisingly quickly. In previous years, it always took some time. I was a little suspicious when this happened. The wings' sauce was delicious and consistent with prior years, however, the quality of the chicken wings wasn't there and the wings could have been left in the fryer a little longer. The pizza logs were standard, the fries were fantastic. My cousin who had the fingers said they were good. If I did go back, I'd order the chicken fingers with their sauce, but I don't think I'll ever be returning again. Pony's is obviously KNOWN for their fingers/wings/sauce. It's unfortunate that they changed their fingers and fries. Definitely not nearly as good as they used to be. I believe this place has some of the tastiest chicken fingers in all of WNY! NOTE: This place is cash only!! They do have an ATM inside. Now, this place is not much to look at but the food, specifically their chicken fingers and chicken wings, are phenomenal! As for the location, there is plenty of parking in an empty lot next door. The inside is a "hole in the wall" bar that is not too big but fits the bill for a small town. They have a few TVs playing behind the bar and there is a pool table and a jukebox as you walk in off Main St. There are a couple booths and a few tables to sit at if you decide you want to get the full experience. The family ordered ahead for pickup: 10 mild chicken wings, an order of BBQ chicken fingers (four to five chicken fingers), and three orders of medium-style chicken fingers (about 12-13 chicken fingers). The food came out precisely when they said it would, so not much waiting at all when I got there to pick them up. The chicken fingers themselves are not the biggest I have ever seen, but the quality of the chicken and the sauce is top notch! The sauce has a little tang/kick to it but is not overpowering in heat. The chicken fingers themselves taste fantastic with just the right amount of breading on them and go down so easily. I have a pretty good appetite so I can eat about eight chicken fingers and would be full. Each order comes with sides of ranch and blue cheese (although I only noticed ranch with th order of medium-style chicken fingers...). As a side note, I did try their chicken wings for the first time and was very impressed with how good they were! They have a unique breading/feel to them and they have a TON of meat on each wing. Pony's has turned into an institution around Orleans county when you want something other than pizza. The updates made to front and inside look great but the service and ambiance was disappointing. The manager (larger dark haired lady) could not be bothered from her conversations with other patrons to see there were several people waiting on her for drinks, food and service. One guy literally moved into every peripheral he could to get her attention and she still kept yapping. Throughout the night this happened multiple times. Meanwhile, another server showed up (Sara) who worked 100 times harder and faster than the other lady. She basically did all the other ladies work. It was a busy Friday night - the manager should recognize that is not a time to stop and chit chat with people for 10-15 min at a time while your coworker is busting her ass. We had empty glasses several times while we were there. Pony's lost $$$ by having that manager working a busy night. Get rid of her. And move the dart board. The sauce they use is so good and I've never once had any problems with an order. The "special sauce" you can get it hot, medium, or mild. The hot has a kick of spicy but finishes with a sweetness. The sauce is addicting and the coating on the wings and fingers is unique and makes them that more delicious. The fries are a must have as well they are hot, crispy and seasoned to perfection. Went to pick up wings last night and it'll be the last time I ever order from there. We go back time and time again thinking it'll be amazing, but, it's just gotten so sub-par, and last night was just the last straw. I live in Newfane, so it's a 25 minute ride each way for me. So I have been eating Pony's chicken fingers when this place was called Mr.Ed's, a VERY long time a go. The chicken fingers are a 5 star. They have a sticky sweet heat. Nothing like anywhere else I have ever had. Just delicious. The prices, not bad either. The place itself is your typical dive bar, not filthy but not amazingly clean either. The reason I took away 2 stars is because the staff/ bartenders are always miserable. Never friendly, never smile, if you hate your job, just quit! Anyway... First and foremost, I will admit that this review may seem a bit biased. Why? Allow me to explain. I absolutely love chicken wings. Can't get enough of them. However, I prefer my wings to be BREADED, which is a rarity (and downright blasphemous depending on where you go) in the WNY-area. When Hooters on Maple Road closed, I was heartbroken, as breaded wings were standard for them, you had to make a special request for them to be "naked," (the wings, not the waitresses). So imagine the absolute delight and glee I experienced when walking into Pony's for the first time ever (about two years back, been back several times since). This place is a definite dive, through and through: bar and billiards up front, cheap tables and restrooms in the rear. But I'm not hear to talk about the ambience-- I'm here to talk about the food. Their chicken wings come in a spicy (yet sweet) hot/medium/mild sauce, which is delicious. The breading is plentiful and crispy. Pony's has found that perfect balance between batter and meat--neither overpowers the other. I could go on for hours about how good they are so I'll be concise: they are absolutely addictive (as pointed out in an earlier review). Prices are cheap and beer is your standard domestic variety. Pony's is located out past Lockport, but it's definitely worth the drive, especially if you prefer your wings breaded over naked. read more

Okay, I give Pony's two stars because I think one star should be reserved for people who are dishonest and or rude. I have to say the waitress at Pony's was neither she was actually very nice. Still Pony's has to be one of the worst dinning experiences in my life. Let's start with the fact that the dinning room was filthy. The layer of dust on the lamp over our table was so heavy that anytime someone would open the front door lint would fly off the lamp and float down into the food. It makes me wonder how clean the kitchen was. The menu is extremely limited you can get wings boneless chicken and a couple other very basic items. One thing was very clear. There was not a vegetable with in five hundred yards. If you wanted onion and tomato on your hamburger you would have been SOL I am sure. We ordered the chicken wings and a side of pizza logs. The pizza logs were brought in frozen and had been around for a while because they had freezer burn. The wings are clearly the house specialty. One of the other reviewers could not figure out what the sauce was. I think it was pork lard, butter, sugar and canned sweet and sour sauce. I thought they were terrible but I have to admit the place was packed (read slow service) and they were all getting wings. I don't get it. I guess when you are literally the only open restaurant in town you can get away with anything. So okay the food is not good but usually a few drinks saves the evening. My bottled beer was fine but my wife ( not a beer drinker) wanted wine. They had three, red, white, and pink... all from a box and all warm. Rose ordered the white. The waitress asked her if she wanted ice which means they know it should be served cold. So how hard would it be to put the box in the beer cooler? Very Rude to new costomers. My boyfriend and I live in Lockport. We wanted to try something new so we drove to Middleport and found a Bar and Grill we thought looked fun. When we got to the bar we stepped up to the bar ordered a blue light draft and a rum and diet from the bartender. She walked away and said something. I couldn't hear her over the bar noise. After a minute or two she walked passed us again. I caught her eye. She said "I need to see ID". I joked that we must look good today (we are both in our 30's), started to take out my ID and repeated our order. We put our ID's on the bar assuming she would be making our drinks for us and checking our ID. After a few more minutes she walked passed us with dirty dishes from other customers.
