Lines and reveals are tight, uniform, and proportional. Paint job is superior to many others! It has held up well in the last year year and a half. As with any custom build, there were some unique challenges, and we had a request for a minor change here and there as our design evolved. Casey was attentive and creative in helping us in the process. He was always available to verify measurements to make sure our other trades could put stuff in the appropriate place (plumbing lines, outlets, etc). We are now 1+ years into living with the new kitchen, and even though it is of fairly modest size, we feel it has every amenity one could wish for, and facilitates ease in workflow as if it were much larger than it is! The total experience from design to installation left nothing to be desired as they were proactive, timely, competent and clean. They had a "can do attitude" verses one full of excuses. The contractural agreement and payment schedule was straightforward and painless. The house painter wanted to cover the damage, but I didn't like the idea of slapping paint over real wood. I visited a few other cabinet resurfacing and maker companies in the Santa Clarita area. One place didn't want to do "spot" repairs because it wasn't worth their time. I found Miller Cabinetry & Millworks on Yelp and decided to give them a try. I emailed Tom, the owner, and attached a few pictures showing the damage and the areas needing repair. He replied promptly and said his employee, Ricky, could take on the job as a side project. Ricky texted me a very detailed quote outlining the work, timeline, and cost. He came over the same day to remove all the doors, panels, and drawers, then took them back to the shop to sand and strip the old varnish. On another day, he came back to sand and refinish the entire dishwasher and sink side of the cabinets. All the wood frames were completely free of old varnish. Through trial and error, Ricky manually color‑matched the finish to my existing cabinets. Aside from the slight gloss of the new varnish, it was very hard to tell the difference (see the picture of the lower and upper cabinets). Ricky's craftsmanship is top‑notch. I couldn't be happier with the results -- the repairs were completed in just a few days, and I definitely got my money's worth.

He came over to my house 2-3 times to make sure I didn't have any changes before he sent the order. His price was almost the same with 2 other places I had quotes from. Therefore I didn't pick him because of better price. I chose him because of his personal service he offers. He delivered my cabinets after only 2 weeks, all assembled by himself. No charge for delivery. Lowe's would charge me $475. and would have taken 5 weeks. I had 4 cabinets with glass. Since the glass panels do not come from the cabinet company, he took 4 door panels to the glass shop and brought them back the next day and installed the door back again. No charge either! He came before completion of remodeling work to make sure that his product was installed correctly with crown. From the beginning Manuel was challenging to get ahold of (no responses on emails mostly). Work started a week later than we had agreed on and Initially the project was supposed to take 3 days - demo, install, finishing- and it was suggested that it could be done in one week. The project started September 25 2024 and was finally finished November 15, almost 2 months. During demo we had to ask them to stop because they did not tape off the space and spread huge amounts of dust throughout our house that we ended up needing to do lead and aesbestos testing to move forward (not to mention, I had to take a day off of work to clean up the mess created). We had to call and text and basically beg them to send people out to finish the work and we could tell we were a very low priority- mostly working Saturdays, canceling multiple times after committing to dates, unwilling to commit to days until a day or two in advance, etc. He pretended he would work around our schedule but if that was the case, this work would have NEVER been completed. I canceled plans 3 times during this process to make myself available to get this work done. After demo, I think they realized this job was more complicated than originally anticipated but instead of telling us that, Manuel just kept us guessing, unsure if the timeline had changed- he did not want to communicate specifics with us which we would have really appreciated and welcomed. We learned quickly that they were not particularly respectful of our space so we began taping up our own plastic space dividers to keep dust and fumes out of the rest of our living space. The workers were very nice and I believe the issue is with management rather than the workers themselves. In the end, the work is nice enough which is why I give 2 stars instead of 1. The finished work was absolutely not worth the headache and displacement we experienced to get it done. It was a truly painful experience. I have other cabinetry projects I would like to do but will absolutely not be hiring MJ Custom cabinetry again to do the work.
